Against the World II: Transgression
Chapter 50: Changing Tides, Part 5

Xavier just appeared at the door of the royal palace, Etharna, Favilifna Kingdom.

He had already finished talks with Qibtya. The girl did not refuse his request, but on no small terms. The Desert Kingdom would only acknowledge her as Emperor if she was willing to marry the queen. Xavier was unwilling to acquire the Desert Kingdom by force, and Qibtya refused to continue negotiations unless he agreed. Xavier had no other choice.

However, he managed to take advantage of the age factor to get out of the trap Qibtya— even if only for a while.

Since Qibtya was still quite young, Xavier required that the marriage could not take place until she was old enough. He wanted to push it for the next four or five years, but Qibtya did not want to lose. They finally concluded that the marriage would take place on Qibtya's eighteenth birthday about two and a half years from now.

Xavier bet on two possibilities: 1) Qibtya will change his mind; 2) Xavier will cease to be emperor after all the kingdoms in Islan he submits – Kanna can lead Islan as he wishes. Those two reasons kept Xavier from trying to prolong negotiations with the queen. If he is no longer emperor, all agreements that bind him are automatically void.

Xavier opened the door without excuse, stepping in without waiting. He went straight to the throne room. The soldiers who saw him fell asleep instantly; no one stopped.

Xavier is alone. Menez and Achilles are not with him. They split the way. It was here and they were now in Caligula Kingdom. Xavier has also sent his clones to Matepola, Ekralina, Maggarithaz, Vladivta, Hongariand, Kazarsia, and the Centaur Village Alliance. So did the Warebeast Great Kingdom, Dwarf Kingdom, and Emiliel Holy Kingdom. Xavier wants to get everything done quickly.

“...Xavier.” Mary Anna showed a hint of shock on her flat face as she looked at the young man. “What you sell—”

“Xavier.” Elmira cuts off Mary's words while hugging the necromancer from behind. “It's shocking. What's up?”

“There was a change of plans,” said Xavier then stepped past the two. “I'll explain further in your layover.”

Elmira did not force. The queen pulled Mary to follow her. Xavier felt that the two were getting closer. Elmira is closer to Mary than Kanna is to Meyrin.

“...You sit in my place.”

Xavier ignored Elmira's words and comforted himself on the queen's throne. There was no one else in the throne room; no one complained but the queen herself.

“Starting today I am Emperor of all Islan,” said Xavier with a serious face, not caring about the queen's gaze. “I came to ask you to be part of the Union of the Islan Empire.”

“...Emperor? Union of the Islan Empire?”

“Imperial Union of Islan covers every territory in Islan,” Xavier explained. “New World Order will be deleted. That's no longer necessary. The Elf Kingdom, Vermillion Kingdom, Emeralna Kingdom, Desert Kingdom, and Caligula Kingdom were already vassals of the United Empire of Islan. I'm here to ask you to join me as a vassal. You can assume I'm combining what the Vermillion Empire and the New World Order previously tried to do. It's also se‒”

“Of course.”

“‒little similar to a—kau..agreed?”

“Of course,” reset Elmira while approaching the throne. “You'll be my emperor, right?” he asked when he was right in front of Xavier, his lips curving into an unusual smile.

“...That's not wrong.”

Being the emperor of all Islan means being the emperor of Elmira as well. So, the question is not wrong. Right, there's nothing wrong with that question. However, the way he smiled made the question seem wrong. Hence Xavier's answer just now was a little doubtful. But at the very least, he did not require being his wife like Qi—

“Then I am the Empress, right?”

—And Xavier's doubts became real. Even worse; qibtya still mending.

...* * *...

Both Heisuke, Lumeira, Valeria, Arthur, Lancelot, Darminic, Herena, and the others just fell silent on the spot watching what happened. More precisely, they were speechless at the air shock left behind from the extremely fast Kanna rate. They didn't see Kanna take Vermyna away. Both of them disappeared from their sight in an instant. Only the air shock indicated that they were not hallucinating.

Xavier—or more precisely the clone— suddenly in the sky Axellibra almost a minute after the disappearance of Kanna and Vermyna. Of course the clone did not know about Kanna and Vermyna. Clones are different from originals. Clones are not anomalies. Clone power is limited.

Then, having not found the person he was looking for in the city, he quickly darted south of the city, landing with a debuman between the two (strangely) armies that were silent.

Xavier's action instantly made all eyes on him. Herena, Darminic, and even Heisuke had already surrounded him. He did not know what was happening, moreover the three of them were ready to attack. It made him open his mouth, but the voice did not come out of his mouth.

Xavier's clone didn't ask. As Arthur and Lancelot join Darminic, Xavier's eyes see clearly the lifeless body of Fie Axellibra who is in the arms of a woman stronger than the average commander. Vermyna had killed the nephilim.

“Are you Miss Vermyna's husband?” timpal Valeria with a face between restraining anger and disbelief.

“Are you El?” Darminic also threw questions.

“You've been cheating Miss Kanna and all of us, and now you've decided to betray everything?” Herena won't lose.

“...Commander Xavier.” Heisuke looked at Xavier flatly, but his gaze slightly showed disappointment from feeling betrayed.

…Xavier's clone immediately drew a conclusion: Vermyna had revealed everything. The woman did it intentionally. There is no doubt that Kanna had heard it. It was even possible that they were fighting, this explained why the situation was silent. Vermyna and Kanna had just left this place, likely to the north.

“...” Xavier said nothing. He didn't want to say anything. He did not want to deal with this troublesome situation. It's Xavier's original fault; he has to solve his own problems. “What can I do,” murmured slowly while sighing deeply.

However, contrary to people's assumptions, Xavier's clone did not answer their questions, but rather eliminated himself. It melts into a particle of mana.

The original Xavier who had just come out of Elmira's palace could only mutter a single word as his clone's memory entered his head: “***.”

“Xavier!” valeria shouted in annoyance. He arrives in a teleportation circle with Lumeira. Lumeira was able to teleport before him as she followed the radiance of mana that brought her clone memories to her. “Jawab my question! Is it true Miss Vermyna made you her husband?!”

“...You really killed Nueva.” Lumeira, in contrast to Valeria, was more calm. “But I was also surprised. It's hard to believe Miss Vermyna made you her husband.”

Xavier, like his clone just now, let out a long sigh. Vermyna had really done something unnecessary. He wanted to tell the truth only to Kanna, and from her mouth straight away. But Vernyna has messed it up. Kanna's really gonna be pissed. The battle between them is inevitable.

However, on the other hand, what Vermyna did made what she wanted to do easier.

That assumes Kanna can defeat Vermyna, Xavier's inner being while tracking down the two creatures' whereabouts.

“Oi, answer my question!” Valeria is really upset.

“Valeria,” Xavier said after finding the location of the two women.

His sharp eyes made the vampire speechless. Lumeira also became a little anxious, especially when she realized that she could not feel the existence of the young man.

“I'm Vermyna's husband. We already have one child. Now take all the vampires back to the Haikal Islands. Vampires are no longer part of Islan.”

Xavier disappeared from the face of the two vampires instantly; he had no interest in hearing the response of the two.

...* * *...

Meanwhile, in the Ice Gheata Continent, among the scattered debris of the iceberg, Vermyna still had not moved from where it was dropped. He just turned around until he was in a supine state. This former vampire was still a little surprised by what happened. Not only did Kanna move fast enough, but she had also broken through the space-time barrier protecting her.

“And I thought nothing could ever hit me after Fie killed me,” muttered Vermyna while sitting down. “But not surprising. He had a kurtalagon and pure Edenia mana. He is like a replica of Edenia. I might not be surprised if he could use all ten Supreme Magic. Not himself Fie doll Edenia, but himself.”

Vermyna snorted and stood up. Kanna was already a dozen meters in front of him. His angel wings, which numbered fifteen pairs, have now become seventeen pairs. Her blond hair had turned dark black. So too with his eyes. If her body was as small as Evillia, she would really look like Edenia. And, now its wings have become eighteen pairs—complete with a white-colored halo overhead!

“I can feel a great anger from within you,” Vermyna said slowly—ia did not show that she felt a little intimidated by the princess. “What is the fact that Xavier is my husband makes you angry? Does knowing your father was killed make you angry? Or, are you angry to know that Xavier has been deceiving you from the beginning?”

Vermyna admitted he was a little intimidated, but that didn't stop him from provoking the princess. The princess' reaction was a little interesting to him. Because, from all the information he obtained, Kanna el Vermillion had never before shown anger until such. He can always control his emotions. You can't see it losing control. Kanna really lived like a princess.

“Vermyna Hellvaross. For the future of Islan and its inhabitants, you must die. Xavier too. I'll kill him after you.”

“Ha-ha-ha-ha. You try too hard to control your emotions. Why don't you let it flow? And also, you didn't answer my question. Why are you so angry?”

About the note that previously said the number of Xavier's wives, pulled back. The plot has already reached this direction. I had no choice but to follow the plot. Like being caught up in a self-made plot.
