Against the World II: Transgression
Chapter 7: Blood in the Forest, Part 3

After some time they made their way out of the Imperial Army camp area, Kanna and the troops were shocked by the return of the three battalions of soldiers who were supposed to go ahead of them to the other side of the road. But no Emily led them. Even the soldiers did not look like after fighting. There, they looked a little tired from returning at high speed.

Kanna raised her one hand, gesturing for everything to stop, waiting for the joining of the soldiers.

“Your Majesty,” report one of the captains as soon as they arrive. “We cannot carry out the mission as we should. A member of Deus Chaperon intercepted us; commander Emily ordered us back here because he thought we would only be throwing lives against him.”

“El?” ask Kanna.

The captain nodded. “He doesn't wear a mask. Even though he was male, his facial appearance was like that of a female. And he is younger than His Majesty.”

“Menez Helberth,” muttered Kanna—tthere are other names besides Menez that match the description of the captain. He had already seen his final showdown against Rossia Himera— and Menez won easily, although he admitted defeat. And before that, he had already heard about Menez when the Padoru-Padoru Ship debuted.

Unfortunately, the intel on Deus Chaperon is still very little. Kanna suspects Lumeira of keeping information about them for herself. Even if he left a copy of it at their headquarters, the information would have already been destroyed. They don't have much time to gather information. Therefore, what the full capabilities of Menez are still a mystery. Clearly, Kanna believes she is the best in this illusion on the Islan.

“What do you think, should we keep going or save Commander Emily?” kanna asked, looking intensely at the captain.

Although he asked, he did not fully want an answer. Because Emily only has lightning magic. Even he was still not as level as Dermyus in that regard. Menez strong. If she could beat Rossia Himera so easily, Emily would stand no chance at all. It is not a surprise that Menez has now overcome the commander.

Thinking about it made Kanna's hand clenched. Maybe they should force Elizabeth to be commander. Emily could be his deputy. That way, most ti—ah, Kanna threw away that thought. Emily is strong for her standards. If facing someone else, Emily has a greater chance of winning. Menez specialist illusion. Even Edward and his father would be troubled by the boy's abilities. Aside from her, Kanna believes only Nizivia can defeat Menez easily and without a fight.

Kanna's teeth spontaneously creaked as soon as Nizivia's name entered her mind. If he had stopped the girl forcibly, Nizivia should still be with them. …Is it wrong to respect the wishes of others?

“Your Majesty?”

Kanna took a long breath. “Forget the question earlier; we have no choice but to step forward.” Kanna paused for a moment while looking at the three battalions. “You can join the formation; I entrust the back to you.”

“Ready, Your Highness!”

The three captains immediately mobilized the troops into the rearguard. After their efforts were thwarted, it was likely that the enemy would send an army to attack their rear. The third task of the battalion was to protect the rear

.

As they line themselves up, Kanna manifests three kurtalagon replicas. Then his right hand clad in mana, where it crept into three identical rune formulas. All three formulas engulf all three replicas of kurtalagon, producing a dazzling glow. And when the glare was gone, three replicas of Kanna's self were already standing straight— and one second later they became invisible.

For that reason, all three replicas will play the role of healer: one he tells follows the troops that Xavier leads, while the remaining two he orders dart to the left right of the troop of soldiers. All three cannot be seen by the eye, but can still be felt by the user of sensory magic—or someone whose instincts are too sharp.

Soon, the three battalions that joined were all in line, and Kanna again instructed her soldiers to advance.

After some time, finally the silhouette of the enemy troops began to be seen at the end of the road.

Only from her silhouette can Kanna say that Emily's assumption is correct. The enemy forces are almost twice the number of their current troops. Even if Xavier's army was included, they were still outnumbered.

However, none of the Imperial Army soldiers put on a doubtful face ‒ they will win the battle, as already!

And when the soldiers on both sides could see each other clearly, both camps increased their mobility by leaps and bounds.

There were no words exchanged between the two armies. The bright spot between them was clear. Words are no longer useful. All that remains is for them to exert their energies in fulfilling what they want to achieve. And with a tempestuous cry of self-excitement, two armies from two great lands met for the first time in history.

The clangs of swords instantly blared, one with the other fighting each other trying to defeat each other. The sick screeches followed. The two complement each other, like a symphony that accompanies a play that invites laughter. The difference is, it's a charade that takes lives.

In the midst of the clash of the different races warriors, silence interspersed among the three individuals who were only a dozen meters apart.

Kanna recognized the female as Evillia Evrillia, meaning the male was Alforalis Grammolia. However, Kanna's views did not focus on them. His eyes glanced around in search of the whereabouts of Black Shadow. He also had to find the user of the arrow spell. They could charge his troops if he let his guard down. It seems I need a clone of combat specialists to overcome those people, Inner Kanna concluded.

A large amount of mana left Kanna's body as a complex array of rune formulas formed beside her. As all of the formulas disappeared, a self-replicated Kanna stood with both copies of the kurtalagon in her hands. This replica of Kanna has a darker hair color. His eyes are not emotional at all. This clone of hers will show no mercy at all.

“Who can imagine a girl like you having such incredible power,” Evillia—sirah wind wrapped her body perfectly. Alforalis who stood beside him also prepared himself: his body floated, and transparent energy balls manifested around him.

“Queen Evillia,” starts Kanna as she steps forward, leaving her combat clone. “Do you not want to consider changing your decision? There is nothing good about war; both sides suffer equally.”

“Heh, is that worth saying? Look, who brought the army to the land of the people?”

“Alright then, I have no other choice.” Kanna was instantly in front of both of her opponents in a single leap. “We do what we feel needs to be done.”
