Against the World II: Transgression
Chapter 44: Emperor's Dream, part 1

“NAMUN,” continued Nueva, “what humans can do is very limited. Even with all the treasures I am accumulating, I cannot do much. I can only focus on Eden. As a human being, my power is limited. As a human being, my options are not much. As a human being, it is very difficult for me to trust another human being. As human beings, all we can do is create limited peace for ourselves.

“Then from that, I should stop being human. To change the world according to my idealism, I must become a god. There's no other way. With absolute power, no one will be able to defy my terms. There will be no more lies. There will be no more betrayals. There will be no more cruelty. There will be no more war. There will be no more suffering. And there will be no more death. I will create a world that knows only eternal pleasure.

“In my world, all who have died will come back to life. Including your parents. I'll erase any memory of any suffering they've ever felt. The dreams of every creature will be realized. No one is going to be a loser; a world that is all winners; a world that knows only one concept. Here's my wish. Here's my dream. And for that, I want you to give [Reverse Law] voluntarily.”

Nueva paused for a moment and stood up—her ice throne melted into ice particles and then joined in a pile of snow.

“Of course you will die,” continued the emperor while shortening the distance with the commander. “But no need to worry. After all the Supreme Magic I've gotten and the Throne of Heaven is mine, you'll be the first one I revive. Compared to what you planned to do with setting up a New World Order, what I offered was much better. Don't you agree?” Nueva ended while extending her right hand.

“If only on intention alone, I can't say what you want is a bad thing. But,” Xavier brushed off the emperor's helping hand, “how can you call that a life when things become worthless?”

“Life becomes valuable because of death.” Xavier stood up slowly. “Success becomes meaningful with failure. Happiness means suffering. Peace is important because of chaos. Didn't you say yourself that everything is in the balance line? And more importantly, the dead must remain dead ‒ their souls do not deserve to be touched. Reviving them back is the greatest insult to the essence of life.”

Nueva looked at her hand which Xavier tepis with a faint smile. “You say the world I want to create as a world that has no meaning in life. At the very least, you have a principle that is not fragile. However,” Nueva's eyes back on the commander's red iris, “what about what you plan to do with the New World Order? You really think that's a better solution? You're more naive than I thought if you thought so.”

“I acknowledge a gap in my vision.” Xavier didn't try to give up. “I've seen the history of the world that even you yourself have never seen. No matter what the New World Order seeks, at one point it will all collapse. No matter how carefully the laws are made, one day the loophole will open. As long as mortal beings have emotions, eternal peace is mere wishful thinking. But because of that, the peace that is obtained becomes important. And because of that too, the struggle we do becomes valuable.”

“In essence, you only offer solutions that are temporary.”

“Because all mortal beings are temporary. Eternal peace is reserved for those who are eternal. We mortal beings deserve only a temporary peace. If that peace eventually collapses, the history of our struggle will be a lesson to generations in those days to fight for their peace. This is an ideal world that is acceptable. This is the meaning in life. Nothing symbiotic with the word ‘abadi’.”

“So, that's your choice. Talking further would no longer be useful. Taking [Reverse Law] would be easier if without a fight, the ritual process would be fast. But what can I do. You've chosen him. If you want pain, I'll give you that pain.”

Realizing the aura of Nueva's drastically changed body, Xavier spontaneously took a step away. He had already collected a certain amount of mana, but it was still not enough to use the Grand Order. He had to stall a few minutes la—

Nueva's right fist was lodged in Xavier's heart before he could see it. However, the commander was not knocked; nueva's free hand had gripped his hand, preventing him from being thrown.

“The ideal world you want to make is just something mortal,” hissing Nueva with right knee crashing into the stomach of the commander. “You will gradually realize.about how useless your naive idealism is.” Nueva took off the grip of her hand and slapped Xavier's cheek with the back of her hand until the commander bounced. “No rules can maintain peace – mortal beings move over emotions!”

“Even if they can understand each other throughout history,” continued Nueva who has appeared behind Xavier, “ each interest will still be more prioritized. Today they sat down for a chat, the other day they faked a smile and made a dark schemer.” And a kick so hard hit the commander's back, throwing him in the opposite direction.

Xavier's body fiercely struck the foot of the mountain, his mouth spewing blood.

“The creatures are like wild animals,” Nueva continued after landing in front of Xavier. “Only fear will make them understand. And I will be the source of that fear – I will become a god and force everything obediently. Eternal peace, a world where everything is obediently full of submission.” Nueva slammed her foot into the commander's chest. “I'll create a world like that – a world where a child doesn't have to see his mother die. Eternal world.”

“For that,” a pure spear made of concentration where appeared in Nueva's right hand, “mate here, Xavier von Hernandez. Die for the perfect world!”

And that glowing dark white spear instantly lunged so sharply. But—

“….”

—the spear only destroyed the hard part of the mountain; there was no commander anywhere.

And before Nueva tried to circulate her gaze, her body suddenly stiffened ‒ her two eyes opened wide.

Someone had stood on her back to Nueva just a step behind her. There was no need for him to turn around to find out who it was. It's more than obvious that it's the commander. What the emperor did not understand, how Xavier could be behind him. He was not smart enough in teleporting to move at any time. And also, how could he have teleportation and [Space Magic]?

“You seem to like talking enough about your great desires. Are you done?”
