Against the World II: Transgression
Chapter 6: Preparation, Part 2

Silent for a while filled the throne room, before then various growls were heard.

The anger directed at him was so obvious, but Reinhart ignored it. It didn't matter to him what they were willing to react to. He rolled back the letter, put it in the pocket of the robe.

“Her Highness wants me back with an answer,” Reinhart said. “I will wait at least two hours, if up to two hours Elf Kingdom ma—”

“No need.”

The queen's cold flat voice cut through Reinhart's words without permission.

“You can go now. You got one minute. And it starts from now.” Along with the ultimatum it was voiced, a dark red-colored energy ball enveloped in lightning sparks manifested above Evillia—'s right index finger and grew in size with each second.

Reinhart did not say anything more, she instantly disappeared within the glare of the teleportation magic circle.

“Camelia, I want everything gathered in one hour.” Evillia got up from her throne immediately after giving the order, then she stepped straight towards the door of the throne room.

...—Imperial Palace, Nevada, Vermillion Empire—...

“... That's it. We'll attack with half the 12th Division and all the 11th Division. Ah, before you go, Xavier, I have one question for you.”

Xavier raised next to an eyebrow hearing that. Last night he had made up with Monica, and the girl said she had only told Kanna about Carnal Village without mentioning anything related to the devil and the Throne of Heaven. Nor did Monica say anything about those who were rushed to the Elf Kingdom. And he also believes that Nueva hid her secret actions from the princess.

Xavier can also conclude that Nueva did not say why Kanna had to observe it. Having heard Monica's story, Kanna would naturally arrive at her own conclusion. And based on that, the probability of Kanna asking is only one.

“If in the duel you have agreed it was won by you, would you kill him?”

Xavier let his lips curl thinly hearing that. “Are you going to get in my way?” Xavier didn't wait for Kanna's response. He stood up and walked away. However, Xavier did not leave before once again throwing the word: “If you want to block me, do it. That's even if you can. However, didn't you say it yourself, that justice must be done?”

Kanna's lips curled thinly at Xavier's words. He did not say anything, only looking silently at Xavier who left. No, Kanna was not a gentle smile, much less happy, but a regretful smile.

I can't give that fire to you, Kanna's inner, right hand raised, bringing up the unusual black flames that Retsu gave her—but the fire disappeared quickly. And you're right, justice must be served. That is why I destroyed this fire. I will decide what to do myself. I will master the Rune Magic Manifestation and become a symbol of justice.

Kanna made up her mind, she would carry that burden. Retsu had trusted him to do what he felt was right. Not allowing his father and Xavier to kill each other was what he felt was right. It's not just about him, Retsu, Hernandez, Xavier, and his father. Not at all. This is for Islan. He would unite her in his vision, no longer in his father's vision.

But first, I must become stronger; I must be able to use the power of twelve seraphs at the same time and for as long as I want.

“Your Majesty?”

Kanna's eyes blinked. “Ah, let's go, Emily. Your inauguration today we did informally; we will make a formal inauguration when all current problems are resolved.”

Emily nodded. “If Your Majesty doesn't mind,” he said after standing up. “What did that short conversation mean?”

“That's..I think it's better if nobody knows, Emily; it's a rather personal affair. It also relates to His Majesty. I hope you can understand.”

“Thank you. Come on, His Majesty is waiting.”

...* * *...

When Xavier arrived at his inn and Monica stayed overnight, the blonde-haired girl was already familiar with the receptionist. They laughed at each other as if they had known each other for a long time. Xavier let himself smile. He can not be as fast as it is familiar with others, especially those who “ do not matter” in a big deal. Familiarity with others is an advantage that Monica has.

“Yo! Commander Xavier!”

“Ah, Xavier, you've returned apparently.”

Xavier nodded at the two, approaching them. “Thank you for accompanying Monica, Receptionist.”

“Repessionist? I have a name, you know! Ah, don't tell me you've forgotten my name, Commander?”

“Of course not,” lie Xavier. “I'd rather call you Receptionist. Because, a call like that shows that we're pretty familiar, right?”

“Lying!” monica exclaimed, and the receptionist quickly nodded her head. “That's bad, you, Commander! Though we often walked together while you were still staying here first..”.

“Xavier..

“Monica,” firmly Xavier before the two successfully brought himself into their game. “I, you, and he know that his words are just a joke.” Xavier sighed softly, sighing. “Come, we have to get to Verada right now. Once again thank you, Receptionist, here are tips for you.”

...—Verada, Imperial Army—...

“Do you have a home here, Vier?” monica asked as soon as they arrived at the westernmost city of the empire.

Xavier. “I'm a member of the imperial military, no family, a kara; why would I buy/set up a house here?” Xavier sighed softly. “I live in the barracks. You can occupy Emily's room.”

“Oh, so.” Monica nodded. “This will be a great experience! Is that room next to yours?”

“Of course,” response Xavier quickly—aligned with their steps. “It should have been an assistant close to the commander. Now, let's hurry. I will only introduce you to Heisuke and the captains; there are three female captains, you can be familiar with me—”

Xavier's words were interrupted suddenly when in an instant they found themselves in the desert.

Although the panorama of the desert that unfolded was exactly the same as the place he had already visited, Xavier knew they had not been forcibly teleported there. There was no teleportation magic working on them. This desert must be an illusion, which means….

“Menez,” muttered Xavier slowly, slowly turned body—Monica also followed Xavier's view.

True as his assumption, Menez was already standing a few meters there. He was dressed in the robes of Deus Chaperon. Looking at her expression so seriously, it was no mistake that Menez had heard it from Evillia/Luciel. He told Luciel not to tell anyone the truth. So, Menez certainly doesn't know. The reason here was obviously to demand an explanation.

“Sister Xavier, Brother Monica. Evillia told me what happened. Is that true?”
