Against the World II: Transgression
Chapter 6: Preparation, Part 5

As dawn broke, thousands of soldiers had poked their feet through the dense, dark, and treacherous wilderness.

The Great Amarest Forest was known to be dangerous because it was filled by various Magical Beasts. No one had ever claimed to know all the Magical Beasts that were there. The same goes for the elves. There were those who claimed the Magical Beasts that were avenging the dragon king lived in a remote place there. There were also those who said the strongest Magical Beast was only as level as an adult dragon. Clearly, the Great Forest of Amarest had yet to be fully explored.

The Imperial Army soldiers walked through the forest from two sides of the road that led straight to the area the Elf Kingdom stood on. To avoid from making it difficult for themselves to face the Magical Beast, they were not too sideways away from the safe region of the forest. Neither the forces that Xavier led nor the ones that Emily led, their distance from the only road was only a few kilometers.

Meanwhile, just as the sun rose, the Imperial Army's main force also poked a foot. Kanna—with Meyrin who has always been loyal at his side— is in the forefront. The captains of each battalion stepped swiftly behind him. They all walk with confidence. Anyone who saw their steady and aligned steps would feel intimidated. The Imperial Army is not the Imperial Army if they are not super disciplined.

On the other hand, far in front of the Imperial Army there, the Elven Army was already lined up neatly in front of the open Evrillia gate. In total there were less than thirty thousand soldiers there, and they were all fully armed. Swords, spears, shields, arrows, they all have them. Not a single soldier was without a weapon, not even their bodies were clad in hard light armor.

Standing before all of them was a man who looked to be still in his thirties (in human view). She had long waist-length hair that was dark white, her hair tips tied up with a magic artifact that was rife in the knick-knacks shop in the Elf Kingdom capital. He was wearing maroon-colored elf noble clothes. On his waist was a large sword hanging completely with a sheath.

Alforalis Grammolia is the second most powerful elf after the queen. He had lived for quite a long time, even he had served the king of the elves two periods before Evillia ascended the throne. There are wild rumors about him that the truth is never known; Alforalis himself declined to comment on the rumors. He is the son of Evana Evrillia with Zuthvert Akrecia (two respected members of Deus Guardian), the rumor read. However, Evana herself is silent. There is no bright spot about the rumors.

But clearly, Alforalis his strength was beyond doubt. She's stronger than Evana herself. When Evillia ascended the throne, she managed to defeat six other king's bodyguards and she did it alone. Because of that, there are some who believe that if Alforalis really wants to, Evillia herself will be able to face him. However, that was only limited to assumptions; alforalis almost never drew his sword unless Evillia ruled.

Under the lead of the main commander, the Elven Army troops had no sense of trepidation in the face. They're gonna get Islan to know the Elven Army name. During this time, there were only two names of the respected troops: the first and foremost, the Knight Templar; the one directly below them, the Imperial Army. But today will be different. They will make a new history. Elven Army will be the subject of lessons in the military classes of every academy in every country.

With a strong cry from Alforalis, all the soldiers wrapped in reverence, then they simultaneously took two steps forward and turned back right and stepped forward firmly.

Alforalis did not immediately dart following his soldiers, he stayed in place for some time. Waiting. And the wait did not last more than ten minutes. Evillia was accompanied by 99 individuals in black uniforms coming in full of intimidation. If they all entered a city, ninety percent of them would subjugate that city without a fight.

Simultaneously, three black-robed individuals striped with green edges carried themselves over the city walls. Their robes were blown away by the cold morning wind. They are strong in their respective fields. They are confident in their own abilities. And most importantly, they fought for the same thing as Alforalis: Elf Kingdom.

At the same time, Menez darted down to the left side of the kingdom—or the right side of the empire. Just like what happened to El, the four Black Shadow squads followed him simultaneously. Their departure left only Atland, Evillia, and the 9th squad of Black Shadow remaining before Alforalis.

“I will open the attack,” said Atland suddenly while showing off his adamantite bow forward, along with it dozens of magic circles manifest themselves. One was just below Atland's feet, one on his left side, one on his right side, and the rest were at the end of the arc forming the fusion of eight winds. “This is my latest technique, I combine everything I have for this.”

Along with his confession, Atland's arc leads to the sky at an angle of 75 degrees against an imaginary flat line. Mana in high intensity evaporated from Atland's body, so much so that it was clearly visible in every eye that looked. And as Atland pulled the bowstring, the magic circle that formed the eight-wind formation began to spin counter-clockwise.

“Wind is my feeling, the wind is my guide, and with the wind my determination expands. Reach nirvana in the eternal dust of the stars. Crying Heaven.”

Whus!

The speed of the arrow released by the bowstring stunned everyone who saw. There are no arrows so fast. It was too fast that the arrow was invisible to the eye. The only thing that made them able to see the darting was the air it had broken through. Alforalis and the others were able to see the air tube caused by the dart that shot it—and the air tube was enveloped in lightning sparks due to the ionized air.

The arrow shot so high, that at one point it disappeared without trace—tak produce any effect even if only a blast.

At least not for the first few seconds.

In the tenth second, in an astonishing speed, a gigantic super duper magic circle stretched across the sky of the Amarest Great Forest. The magic circle was composed of various magic circles all of which formed an eight-wind formation. The magic circles were of only two colors, directly showing the archer's two dominant Atland magic.

And in line with the spell name that Atland muttered, the screeching sky shook the air, hundreds of thousands of arrows made of wind layered with star dust came down in an uproar.
