Against the World II: Transgression
Chapter 40: Predestine Future, Part 1

WHAT a troublesome OPPONENT, Xavier's inner self while rising to his feet. How can I defeat him without magic?

Xavier let out a long sigh and immediately put up the horses, his eyes staring intently at the nephilim who had landed nearly ten meters in front of him. The flowing mana strengthened the entire aspect of Xavier's body. Magic can only be used when the distance is and Fie is quite far away. So, there was nothing he could do here other than rely on physical strength and sword techniques.

In the next breath, Xavier was already in front of Fie with both swords swinging. The Phantom Sword Art: Invisible Drive!

“Slow,” comments Fie with a spear that has blocked both of Xavier's swords. “I can see both your slashes. Can't you go any faster?”

Xavier snorted, jumping away quickly—thin dodged the nephilim's left-footed kick.

It's not as slow as Fie said. Even without using the lightning armor or the Enchanted Flame Armor, Xavier was quite fast. Only Fie was faster, and that was the main problem in this fight. Without magic, there was nothing Xavier could do to erase the difference.

“Can't we finish well?”

Fie—who was about to attack—returned silent as soon as Xavier threw the question suddenly.

“Solve it well?” Fie's head tilted to the right, his expression confused. “What do you mean de—”

Xavier was quickly to the right of the nephilim, both of his swords ready to slash from both different angles. If he could not rely on magic, he only needed to rely on what was reliable. Of course this is not something to be proud of, quite the opposite. But what choice does he have here? Is correct. Xavier had no choice.

“You can always ask for my help.”

The voice whispered inside his head along with Fie who jumped into the air dodging the two sword slashes.

Xavier ignored the sound and made the right foot a focus for turning. The timing coincided with the coming of the nephilim's spear swing. Avoiding is very unlikely in this moment ‒ it will only give Fie the breadth to land a blow. Xavier could only entrust his two swords to block the swing of the spear.

Oh, boi! What a fatal mistake the commander made!

The power behind Fie's spear swing was even greater than the punch in the stomach he had just received. Both of Xavier's swords cracked, and then shattered. Fortunately, Xavier had already first bounced off before his two swords were destroyed. Otherwise, his chest would have already been pierced by the sharp spear eyes—ia would have been very lucky if it survived.

Buuum!

Another hill was destroyed by the nephilim's unreasonable physical strength. And Xavier once again felt a great pain in his back. At least, this time he was not in a state of near death. Both of his swords had received that blow for the commander.

[Reverse Law] returned to work, and this time not only on Xavier's body, but also his sword.

“I don't know you're the typical person who does anything to win. Don't you have any shame, cheating when fighting women?”

Xavier snorted, jumping out of the hole created by the impact of his body.

“I heard Fie Axellibra is a quiet typical of very irritable words and expressions; why are you talking so much now?” Xavier is not waiting for an answer. “You said I had no shame in cheating against women? But are you sure you're a woman? Look, you don't even have pa—”

Boom!

Xavier—himself to the point of surprise!—managed to dodge from the throw of the spear that hit the place on foot. The impact created a crater one kilometer in diameter.

“What did you want to say?”

“What did you want to say?” ask Fie again, and this time while stepping foot.

Xavier reflexively took a step back. “I didn't say anything offensive,” he said defensively— while trying to keep his distance from the nephilim.

“No, no. You clearly said something offensive. Try repeat. I want to hear it more clearly.”

“...Are you sure you're a woman?”

“True, true. That's what you said. Go on, what's the continuation? Tell me the continuation.”

“...Look, you don't even have an ordinary face. You're not a woman, you're a goddess. You're too perfect to be called a woman. An angel like you does not deserve to be insulted by sticking the word ‘women’ to you. The word is only for humans and other races.” Then Xavier's lips curled thinly. “What are my words offensive?”

Xavier breathed a sigh of relief as soon as he felt the killing intent that had taken possession of Fie's body disappear. He really made a big mistake earlier. But how else? He needs to provoke the opponent and make him emotional to make mistakes. However, he did not expect such a drastic reaction from Fie.

“I'm sure it's not a thing o—!”

Xavier was unable to finish his sentence. His neck was already in the grip of Fie's little hand. Xavier's eyes widened, blood vomiting out of his mouth. The nephilim— whose half-wing had blackened and changed shape, his hair had become half-black and half-white, and who now had a dark black halo above his head—had smashed his throat sadistically.

“...I don't like liars. Tell me, what did you really want to say?”

“What is the fear of disappearing, which in fact is uncertain, greater than the fear of death coming? Let's switch places.”

Xavier ignored the seductive whisper. He did not know what happened to Kanna so he did not arrive. Did the earrings he gave me not work?

“. My anti-magic only works automatically when I'm in a nephilim form. Quickly fix your throat and answer my question..before I change my mind and kill you right now.”.

…xavier has no other options. Ah, less precise. He could choose to let himself be consumed by the temptation of sound in his head. But, he won't do it, not when there's another option.

Xavier teleported dozens of meters away from Fie— while freeing his neck from the creature's clutches. His neck then returned to normal in an instant.

Xavier threw out the remaining blood in his mouth and looked intensely at Fie. “Grand Order: Disintegrate!” he exclaimed, sacrificing more than half the amount of mana to make the command work.

However, the order did not exist.

“I did say my anti-magic no longer works automatically, but I forgot to say that magic won't be able to hit me. More precisely, you are in a lower dimension than me so it is impossible for your magic to reach me. And vice versa‒”

Xavier's eyes widened; fie's spear eyes had pierced through his left chest.

“‒I can reach you as easily as turning the palm of the hand. And this will be my last question: What did you want to say? Let me hear it more clearly, Xavier von Hernandez.”
