Against the World II: Transgression
Chapter 51: Other Battlefields, Part 3

The devastation that enveloped the Mherea Hill Cluster was clearer than the flames at night. The hills that were there had been reduced by a third. Not flat on the ground, but destroyed here and there. The battle that took place between the most powerful vampire and the leader of the saints had changed the terrain. However, the fight is still not completely over.

A purple cube-shaped barrier appears to stand between three adjacent hills. The barrier is wrapped in a jet black chain with a red aura. The size is quite large: a city can be put into the barrier. And from what could be seen, the barrier would not be destroyed even if ten mountains were placed on it.

Crow looked carefully at the barrier he had created to lock up Genea's soul once her body was destroyed. He has not felt any strangeness in the barrier, meaning that the soul of Genea is still there and the realm of death has not yet attracted the soul of the pope.

Crow was not familiar with the performance of the death realm, so he had no idea what was holding him back. He just hopes it's not because of the hell chain. However, if what prevented the realm of death from attracting the soul of Genea was a chain of hell, it meant that he had done something futile. If that was the case, Crow could only rely on Valeria to obliterate all of Genea's bodies.

“Crow.”

Crow did not look. He was not surprised either. He had first sensed their presence before the voice called out. However, he appreciated the presence of the voice owners. Just now he had thought of relying on Valeria, and now the woman was already behind him.

“How?” ask Crow without further ado. “You've destroyed all those bodies?”

“Yes, you can remove your barrier.”

Crow nodded slowly hearing the confirmation. Instantly the chains wrapped around the dimensional barrier began to fade and disappear one by one. Not long after, the dimensional barrier disappeared. Crow could not sense the existence of the soul of Genea, but he no longer cared. With the destruction of all the body of the pope, his soul will not be able to withstand the pull of the realm of death.

“Good work, Valeria.” Crow turned around. “How is the war progress now? Where's Miss Vermyna? Is Axellibra flat on the ground?”

“Emiliel Holy Kingdom is already on the verge of defeat. Miss Vermyna killed Fie Axellibra. There should be nothing preventing us from winning.”

As expected. Their leader was the strongest; the Crow could not imagine Vermyna would be defeated, not even by Fie Axellibra.

Other than Edenia herself, no other creature could question the power of the queen. The Islans will soon bow to them. Then Medea. Then Veria. They will control the world and make every creature forget about the existence of Edenia. Traces of the creature's existence will be wiped from the world.

“But, Vermillion Empire is already on the side of the Holy Kingdom,” Valeria continued with a frowning forehead. “Kanna el Vermillion led them. His presence prevented us from flattening Axellibra. If it wasn't for Miss Vermyna's presence, now we'd already be the prisoner of that human.”

“...That means Miss Vermyna is dealing with Kanna el Vermillion?”

Valeria nodded.

“How about emperor? He's on the move?”

“...Nueva is dead. Commander Xavier killed him. He also told us to, the vampires, leave Islan immediately. He said this war is no longer our business because vampires are no longer Islan. Hmh! If it wasn't for her confirming that she was Miss Vermyna's true husband as Miss claims, I would have definitely attacked her when she said so.”

Nueva is dead.that's shocking news. Crow admitted that the man was strong. Defeating him is very difficult. He was not sure he could defeat the Emperor. However, there was nothing more shocking than Valeria's last sentence. Crow even went silent in disbelief.

“...Did you just say that Miss Vermyna is married, and El is the one?” asked the vampire to make sure, he felt he heard wrong.

“So right..”.

Crow was silent for a moment. And so is Valeria. They were very, very close to the queen, very loyal, but why weren't they told that earlier? Was their relationship intentionally hidden up to that point? Crow did not understand what his queen was thinking.

“So, what is our action? Xavier seems to be taking over everything. He will likely make himself ruler of Islan. With Miss Vermyna and Kanna fighting, Xavier was unstoppable. She has Menez and Queen Eileithyia with her.”

Lumeira's question brings Crow and Valeria's thoughts back to reality; both eyes are pierced sharply into the eyes of the former Third Commander.

“I guess we're here to ask Crow's opinion about our next action, don't you think, Valeria?”

...* * *...

On the west side of Carmel, Rossia stood like a rock in the middle of the waves in the ocean. Atland and Diametra were repeatedly nested, but the saint did not falter in the least. The natural energy that filled her body gave Rossia more than enough power to serve the full power of Atland and Diametra.

However, the cooperation of the two Deus Chaperon members was quite solid. Rossia always made a failure in landing a blow or a deadly attack. Atland had positioned various darts in various places to disturb him, and Diametra had a large-scale attack that made his attack interrupted. But the most problematic thing, the two did not let him separate them.

“To be honest, I still haven't used my full strength.” Rossia said after landing between Atland and Diametra. “I tried as much as possible to save energy, but catching rats that try hard to live is difficult. I'll be serious.”

“Wait a minute!” shout Atland.

Rossia raised next to her eyebrows, looking at the owner of the voice with the tail of her eyes.

“Rather than us continuing this fight, I suggest we stop. Me and Diametra will get out of here. You can go straight to Eden to stop Lumeira and Ciela from destroying the city.”

Rossia grunting. “How laughable. Now you're like a cornered rat. Afraid of death?”

“Let even your words can be held,” continued Rossia without waiting for the response of the opponent. “Sir Gawain was in Eden, he was more than enough to overcome their resistance. I'm here to still destroy ka—”

Rossia jumped quickly to avoid the lunge of Atland's arrows that shot from the north and south. The walls of the ground instantly sprung up after he jumped. It's easy to guess that Diametra wants to lock her up. A useless effort, he continued while destroying all the walls of the ground.

…But Atland and Diametra were no longer where they were; rossia found that both had run west. They ran with their tails between their legs, cowards. Or, they purposely went to lure him along. A trap, maybe?

Rossia snorted and spat to the left, trying hard not to be controlled by anger. His job is to protect Carmel, not hunt down enemies. If they're right to lure him along, he won't be able to get to Carmel in time. Carmel will be destroyed if anyone attacks when he's not there.

“Cockroaches can only use sneaky ways,” upset Rossia, grunt slowly and then dart back to Carmel. “I'll kill them next time.”
