Against the World II: Transgression
Chapter 39: Goddess of War, Part 3

Arthur Lancedragon and his deputy stopped exactly eleven meters in front of Kanna.

“...If me and Merlin lose, or one of us is killed, Order 1 Knight Templar will surrender. However, if you were to lose or be killed, the two Imperial Army divisions following both of their commanders would have to surrender as well. How, Your Majesty, is this answer acceptable?”

Kanna closed her eyes and heaved a sigh of relief at the decision the saint had made. He could certainly overcome them without having to kill them all. Kanna could instantly confine them all in a dimensional barrier in an instant, then instantly proceed onward to another location. It's a simple and easy way to do it.

However, by taking the future into consideration, Kanna wanted them all to understand that she was not a tyrant. They will live in power after the war is over. Their cooperation was necessary to maintain stability and avoid a full-blown rebellion. The purpose of this war was to establish unity and peace; kanna could not do what made them see her as a monster.

“That's the answer I want,” Kanna replied in the end. “If I am killed, both divisions will surrender only if you guarantee their safety as I guarantee the safety of your soldiers.”

“On behalf of LANCEDRAGON, there will be no death for them. We will treat them well.”

“Then we agree.” Then Kanna turned to Herena and Darminic. “Give us space. 100 meters enough.”

Three minutes later, the two armies were no longer behind their leaders. The Knights Templar marched at a distance of 115 meters behind Arthur, while the two Imperial Army divisions were 100 meters behind Kanna. To make it safer, Kanna created four kurtalaegon replicas and threw them into the four corners. Exactly five seconds later, the cube—-shaped transparent barrier with a side length of 200 meters—without the lid has stood firm.

“Majulah whenever you are ready,” muttered Kanna while putting up the fighting horses, the grip on both swords strengthened.

With a body covered in lightning armor, Arthur immediately shot forward. Meanwhile, Merlin created nearly thirty glowing red swords. Two he held, two floated on his right and left, and the rest darted in various directions. Given how the woman had arrived, Kanna was able to deduce that all the swords made were useful for teleporting her.

Kanna's eyes quickly moved on Arthur who was unsheathing his lightning-clad spear. He spontaneously directed the sword in his left hand to hit the tombal with the blade of the sword, trying to pull it to the left. However, to Kanna's surprise, her sword in an instant had already become the size of an index finger. Not only the sword in the left hand, but also the one in the right hand.

And the shock was put to perfect use by Arthur: the tip of his spear slammed firmly between the two collarbones of the princess—just below the neck.

This time the surprise was Arthur. The tip of the spear did not penetrate the collar of the armor the princess was wearing, nor did it make her crash. On the contrary, the saint was knocked backwards. It was as if the energy that his spear released turned to smash into itself.

Kanna had no time to chase after the saint, she was forced sideways to avoid the two red hot lasers that were fired by the two Merlin-flashing red swords. Just managing to dodge, a sword had already shot right into the princess' face. Kanna reaction is very normal—reaction that most people will probably do. He tilted his head to the left avoiding the speed of the sword.

But maybe it was the wrong reaction; it was what Merlin wanted. The woman was suddenly already behind Kanna. One hand held the sword that Kanna had just avoided, while the other hand had swung a sword trying to slash the princess' neck.

If Kanna had never witnessed Commander Reinhart's fight, Merlin's attack would have worked. However, for Kanna who has seen how Reinhart fights, Arthur's abilities are more surprising than Merlin's actions. Moreover, he had already seen Merlin teleport to his sword the moment he had appeared.

The ice shield cracked, and Kanna's two swords had first shrunk before hitting the target. Then Merlin vanished from his position before Kanna. And a moment later Arthur's scream echoed.

“Barachiel Thunder Blast!”

All the clustered lightning filled the dark clouds instantly fell towards Kanna in an instant.

Unfortunately, Arthur's efforts did not produce any results. All of the lightning was absorbed by the rune formula that appeared on the princess' left palm. Then Kanna pointed the right palm at Arthur who was standing next to Merlin—there was another rune formula on that palm. “Recover your lightning,” murmured, and instantly the lightning that was absorbed came out of the hand.

Merlin had already teleported to one of his swords that struck tens of meters to the right of Kanna, while Arthur remained standing in place with the tip of the spear welcoming the arrival of lightning.

Arthur was dragged dozens of steps back, but he was able to hold all the lightning with his spear and body— was clearly visible from the thick lightning that enveloped the body and spear. Then Arthur's horses changed rapidly. “Lancedragon Art: Longinus,” whispered quietly with a spear piercing the empty air in front of him.

Instantly, everything in front of Arthur vanished in a bolt of concentrated lightning. The lightning that moved like a laser shot sharply at Kanna. The princess this time dodged by jumping into the air. He could not absorb it with the rune formula in his left hand; in contrast to the kurtalaegon ability, Kanna needed to wait two minutes before being able to use it again. If he was reckless, his hands would be shattered due to the malfunctioning rune formula.

Merlin made good use of Kanna's position in the air; dozens of red hot lasers targeted her from various directions.

“Rune Ice Magic: Empress Law.”

Faster than dozens of laser shot, everything inside the cube barrier is not beratap—other than Kanna herself—frozen.

Merlin, his sword, his laser, even Arthur and his spear instantly froze completely. Likewise with the air, it was clearly visible from the ice crystals that filled the space. Everything's freezing. No one is allowed to freeze. That's Empress Law—spell who froze everything other than the owner of the spell. The Spell that Kanna created by combining [Rune Magic] and [Ice Magic], was inspired by the magic of the father.

As soon as both legs landed, Kanna manifested two replicas of the kurtalagon and threw them towards the frozen Merlin and Arthur. Once on target, the two replicas of the sword melted into a series of runes that wrapped around the frozen bodies of Arthur and Merlin.

Kanna flicked her finger, and instantly all the ice shattered into pieces— except for Arthur and Merlin's bodies. The bodies of the two men slowly returned to normal. And since the fight started until this second arrived, only 21 seconds had passed.

“Do you guys admit defeat? Or, should I kill one of you first?”
