Chapter 45: Mastermind, Part 3
Xavier really didn't expect things to end like this. Edward who was now in front of him was different from what he remembered. No, say he's Edward's too blind. If anyone is very familiar with Luciel, Lucifer is the one. Xavier doesn't have doubts. He is now facing Lucifer—even though the former archangel is in the body of another.
“Luciel's worries are right,” Xavier said with a serious face, the black fire swords in both hands began to be shrouded in lightning concentrating high. “How long have you been hanging around, Lucifer?”
“Luciel's intuition is always sharp, but he finds it hard to believe without any supporting evidence. He was always troublesome. But because of that too, I guess I don't need to introduce myself anymore.”
“Luciel has told you a little bit about you. You're just a childish angel who defies her will because her will is not fulfilled. Just like a kid. You need to be taught a lesson to understand that not all your wishes can be fulfilled.”
“Hahaha. You may be right, but let's discuss more important matters.” Edward's expression became serious. “It looks like the process is still not finished. But what I saw was very clear. Tell me, how did you become an anomaly? Who's helping you? In which era did you previously live?”
Lucifer is more knowledgeable than Luciel. Xavier understood that from the question. But he no longer had time to comfort the former angel. Previously he failed to stop Nueva from becoming a dragonoid, now he does not want to see what happens if he allows the process to be completed.
“That's none of your business!” yelp and dart forward—with a blink of an eye he was in front of Edward's body. “Grand Order: Perish!”
The command that [Reverse Law] gave made Edward's body stiffen while at the same time spitting blood out of his mouth. The effect was weaker than Nueva's, but perhaps it was because of the life energy that was trailing her body.
However, the effect was enough to give Xavier a chance to shake off both of his black-piercing fire swords without any obstructions.
“You...can't..penetrate this life energy armor only with magic seder—”.
Xavier's right foot hit the left side of Edward's head before Lucifer could finish his sentence, sending the body crashing to the rough, hard foot of the mountain.
Xavier doesn't need to hear what the opponent is going to say. He has fought two users of life energy, and Lucifer is the worst user of that energy. Shiva is the most adept user of life energy. Nizivia— that Vermyna— has swallowed is the second. Lucifer's ability is nothing. Because, although a little, his black-thirted fire sword managed to scratch the servant's shirt.
And with Lucifer vanishing from before him, there was no barrier between Xavier and the black energy cube. He was quickly in front of the cube ‒ both of his black fire swords had also been removed. This time Xavier did not try to use funny means; he directly relied on [Magic Container]. If [Magic Container] could absorb souls, nothing would be impossible for him to absorb.
Sure enough, black energy slowly entered his body.
Unfortunately, Xavier only had time to absorb the energy in less than three seconds. Lucifer had kicked himself back to make him bounce.
However, unlike Lucifer who hit the foot of the mountain, Xavier was able to withstand the speed of his body and landed on both feet after crashing nearly thirty meters.
“That's a dirty way, but I thought you had no choice.” Lucifer landed a few meters in front of the commander. “What can I do. Let's finish this barbarically. Go ahead, Commander Xavier. Show me how strong you are.”
Xavier felt his mana fill up again very quickly. Unfortunately he was unable to make his mana tank completely full. He had also not been able to obliterate the black energy cube. Lucifer has attacked him again. The creature had finished off his hemisphere in just under two minutes. Xavier made it bounce to hit the foot of the mountain.
“He won't let me unless I finish him.”
Xavier sighed and got up. The amount of mana was almost full, but his stamina had been drained. Meanwhile, Lucifer didn't look tired at all. He had to finish him off quickly. If not, Lucifer will benefit because of his prime condition.
“You have more magic than one can have,” comments Lucifer when a dozen steps away from the commander. “It looks like you have an ability that can take other people's magic. What is an ability gained by being an anomaly? Ah, you had other abilities before. What does it mean to be anomaly gives us two special abilities—according to the number of births?”
“Oh, so is that it? I just found out.” Xavier coated his body with lightning armor clad in the Enchanted Flame Armor. “So, can I assume you will have two special abilities after your evolution process is complete?”
“...You have no memory of your past life.”
Xavier showed no reaction to Lucifer's mouth. Instead, he instantly cut the distance between them quickly. Grand Order: Perish, his mind then landed a blow on Edward's face. Lucifer briefly moves to fend off, but the Grand Order effect makes him fail to fend off.
Raga inhabited by former archangels also crashed. Xavier's punch even broke his nose, he heard the sound of a broken bone. And this time Xavier did not give the opponent the slightest bit of space. In a state of still crashing, Xavier was behind Lucifer and kicked him strongly. Lucifer bounced off in the opposite direction. He hit the big rocks very hard.
Xavier instantly shot tens of meters into the air, his left hand raised and instantly flames of all colors (other than white) appeared above his palm. All of those flames were rapidly spinning and fusing with each other. Xavier used more than half of his remaining mana, and formed a black sphere the size of a baby's head on top of his hand. The black sphere was surrounded by six opposing accretion disks.
Null Turn. Xavier will use his strongest attack right now. He did not care if this attack would obliterate half of the Amerlesian Mountains. He could recover the damage done with [Reverse Law].
However, to make sure the attack was right hit target—
Grand Order: Perish!
—Xavier once again uses the peak of [Reverse law] power on the former archangel.
And two seconds later, Xavier immediately threw the Null Turn.
Without waiting for his attack to hit the target, Xavier shot straight up at full speed. He did not want to accept the effects of his own attack. From a distance of tens of meters, the Null Turn effect was impossible for him to reverse with [Reverse Law]. He had to make sure it was at a distance where his [Reverse Law] could reverse the direction of the shockwave that would me—
