The Devil Sword Swordsman

The Devil Sword Swordsman
Ch. 177 - First Imperial Pillar

Yong Tao rubbed his chin while thinking about it again, he walked past and breezed in front with his face looking better than before.

"This is going to be very shocking news! Emperor Qin would certainly be happy to hear this." Yong Tao said. The man continued. "Then do you want to join us? I hope you are willing to do so, you are the first Imperial Pillar in the future. From the time you're 25, you must fully serve the Empire."

"I am the first Imperial Pillar?" Xin Fai pointed to herself rather startled. "Not that day the winner has yet to be determined between me and Lan An?"

"The winner of the match is determined by your achievements in the fight. You are clearly superior to Lan An, have you ever gone to the heart of Renwu? There your statue will be made soon."

Yong Tao said hurriedly. "Let's follow me!"

"Hey! I haven't decided yet!" Although Xin Fai was forced to follow the man's footsteps quickly and turn his gaze all over. "Where are we going?"

"To a basement belonging to a Blood Devil Man, I recently heard they built a place to move their loot to that place and it's quite close from here."

"Well, you said it all of a sudden... I haven't even had a chance to think." rutuk the young man could only resign.

"Just follow me, the entrance should be there. You know, we'll go into the treasure vault later and you can take as much as you can."

Yong Tao's words seemed to make Xin Fai excited, of course he would take those treasures all without the rest of using a space ring. Although he also did not know how to spend the treasure alone.

"It's really profitable, it's possible that I'll find the rest of Mustika 7 Seasons there."

At a glance Yong Tao glanced back when he heard the item mentioned. "Are you looking for the mustika? If it's true, I think it's very hard to do."

"Why?"

"One of the Mustika 7 Seasons right now has become a grabbing item in the Qing Empire. I don't know any more, but for sure when you go to that place it's not necessarily your life can be saved." Yong Tao ducked open a secret door that connected the road to the underground, "Quick in!"

Xin Fai leaped carefully into the mysterious tunnel, unexpectedly in a poor village like this they built a secret passageway. "I need 4 more mustika remains, that one mustika might already be in the Qing Empire but as far as I can I will look for the other three."

While looking around making sure everything was safe Yong Tao closed the entrance and took out a wooden torch as illumination. They were walking around sneaking while ascertaining the number of enemies.

One guard had just walked out of the hallway, Yong Tao intended to kill him quickly but Xin Fai pulled him strong to the point of sitting behind the barrier wood.

"What are you doing?" yong Tao whispered a little annoyed. Xin Fai pointed in front of him where there was a large room surrounded by many guards in armor.

"We mustn't move rashly, Senior Yong. It's not like the battlefields we're used to. To get the valuables you mean we have to play the best strategy so that they don't panic and even complicate the way that we don't get the target item."

Yong Tao scratched his non-itchy head from being patronized by his junior like this, but how else did everything Xin Fai said was true. The Demon Blood Man's precious item couldn't possibly be easy to obtain and Xin Fai already knew that first thanks to his previous experience.

'It's likely that the valuables are more in number than I've ever seen at Sanmin's headquarters. If that was the case, taking it would certainly weaken the influence of the Demonic Blood Man in the Empire.' inner Xin Fai tried to think of a way to get past the guard troops ahead there as well as another guard who focused on watching the passageways.

Feeling Xin Fai could be relied upon for this Yong Tao did not mind following his advice, he spoke. "Tell me what to do, we must get those things immediately before Liu Fengying comes here."

"It's true."

"Sadly, the old man will kick me into the sky later to catch up with his son, he's been blinding me for years."

Yong Tao laughed bitterly remembering that and chose not to ask much more, his goal here was only to get back a green jade bracelet that they had snatched away. The object was said to be very important for Emperor Qin considering the item belonged to his wife, and ordered Yong Tao to get it back.

Moving slowly with full alert Xin Fai came out from hiding then turned to a place closer to the guards in the passageway, he created a blade of light silently and moved it towards the man.

When it was felt the time was right Xin Fai took off the knife and just penetrated the head and neck of the guard man to make him sprawl instantly without being able to scream. For a moment the guards in the middle room looked at the hallways with suspicious looks.

The choice was twofold: if the guard walked out of the room and saw his friend dead, their presence was detected and if they did not see him, he and Yong Tao could continue safely.

"I heard a voice there."

"Check first" said his friend lazily. The man moved towards the open door of the room, Xin Fai cussed inwardly as the man was about to turn his head to the side where his friend's corpse lay.

"Stupid! Stay standing where you are or when the Chairman comes and sees you're negligent in the task he'll chop your body up!" shouted the guard leader in annoyance.

The man gave a small grumble and returned to where he stood back up, Xin Fai and Yong Tao took a breath for a moment. They walked back while hiding the bodies of the guards inside a large barrel.

"Through here" said Yong Tao to a very solid iron door. When he tried to open it, the room was locked.

"I'll find the key, you just wait here." Xin Fai raised his sword leaving Yong Tao who could only nod approvingly. He was sure going together would only complicate things.

Behind the wall Xin Fai could see three guards chatting, it seemed that something serious was going on in their group lately.

"The seizing of the throne in the Shang Empire has dragged our group into their politics, I heard that Chairman Liu and the eldest son of the Emperor are in a great deal of cooperation. This might be very beneficial for all of us, hahaha."

"I don't care about it, the important thing is that I can keep killing and getting money here is enough!"

"You are the guardian of the nuts, go out and fight in the wild there occasionally or at least do an expedition with the Red Blood troops. There are plenty of slave girls out there that you can enjoy!"

The conversation came to a halt when they could faintly hear the sound of footsteps, Xin Fai sneaking softly behind his hideout.

For the sake of distracting them Xin Fai created a blade of light and moved it on a fire torch on the wall. The fire extinguished making the three guards hiss in fear amidst the darkness.

"Damn it, die alone! Is this place haunted!?"
