The Devil Sword Swordsman

The Devil Sword Swordsman
Ch. 245 - Sky Lock

"My second question you haven't answered. Why did they kill their own friends?"

Xiu Juan answered. "If I say it, will you believe it?"

Xin Fai cleared his throat for a while, turning his gaze to another corner observing the movements of the members of the Fire Lantern Fortress in front of him and the rest of the black stream warriors who continued to vigorously put up a fight.

"I'll believe it. If you don't say it then I don't believe."

"Look, during the fight earlier one of us saw the Blood Devil Man forcing our swordsman to drink his blood. And you know what happened after that? The affected swordsman is possessed by a demon. It's hard to beat him, about five times more than I know."

"Forcing to drink their blood? The Demonic Blood Man was indeed truly insane." he muttered inexhaustibly, I don't know how many strange ways they had done for the sake of being able to take control of the Shang Empire. And it's all pretty absurd according to him.

"Their ambitions are really big, making its members lose their minds like this... What did their leader do?"

Eventually Xiu Juan could only hope that Xin Fai had an answer to this matter. Since arriving at the White Fog Valley, he had been overwhelmed by the enemies that were unmatched in number. Especially if later everyone on his side turned into enemies.

This kind of matter was not a difficult matter for the young man, he smiled cynically for a moment before stepping his feet further.

Xiu Juan did not expect the young man to leave sooner than he expected, he made a sound to call out to him.

"Xin Fai, wait a minute!"

"Yes?"

"Thank you."

Xin Fai furrowed her brows in trying to think through the meaning of the words of gratitude she had heard just now. Xiu Juan lowered his head and did not say more clearly what he meant to speak so.

"And sorry."

"For what?" The young man until he turned his back did not understand at all, he briefly approached Xiu Juan making the girl turn towards him.

"That day at the tournament, I realized something. I thought I was the only one who felt the loss of family but... But you feel the same way." Said slowly. Xiu Juan continued. "What's different is that you just choose not to shut up, to avenge all their deeds and protect everyone as much as possible."

A smile appeared on the young man's face, he patted Xiu Juan's shoulder softly. "Your parents would be proud of you. Don't waste your life with that forbidden seal again, with you alive there are many people you can save."

"Yes, thanks for that."

For a moment they were silent, Xin Fai waited for Xiu Juan to speak more but it seemed like the girl was unwilling to speak before being asked.

"About that sorry? What's for?"

The girl was silent for a long time causing a quiet atmosphere that felt awkward, Xin Fai pulled her hand from the shoulder of the girl still waiting for her to speak.

"Sorry about that day, when the tournament used to be I saw you fighting with the leader of the Blood Devil Man. But I was so scared, I couldn't do anything but stand in fear."

"I must immediately overcome elsewhere, this place please help you keep from falling into enemy hands."

Xiu Juan gave a small nod although Xin Fai did not turn his head again towards him, he developed his smile a moment after that while promising inwardly, will protect everyone who expects a helping hand.

While Xin Fai was moving towards the front the girl went in the opposite direction where the Fire Lantern Fortress was struggling all out. Some members who have been exposed to enemy blood choose to end their lives by suicide.

On his own side, the casualties fell even though the enemy had fallen first, Xiu Juan floated his shady gaze at one point where he could see another young man running while turning his gaze all over the direction.

"Lan An?" His words stopped making Lan An also stop his steps.

"Did you see Xin Fai? Where'd the kid go?"

"He just went ahead there."

"That boy, the habit of moving first than I. Then I'll go first." After saying so Lan An moved straight towards the direction Xiu Juan was pointing at. He paid no heed to the enemy who tried to block him along the way and did not put up any resistance.

Not so far in front of him Lan An was finally able to find Xin Fai, he was stunned for a moment when he saw that the young man was being mobbed by an enemy that numbered nearly two tens of people while no swordsman could protect him back then.

Lan An immediately took up arms, feeling that she would be very useful in protecting her little sister. For at least a few seconds he came gallantly closer to the battlefield before a single deadly attack appeared abruptly within the enemy vortex.

The five warriors bounced around as a powerful energy shot out from the lead of the Sacred Sword Alliance, a blood-red aura engulfing them along with an air of darkness that felt extremely condemning.

Xin Fai raised his sword parallel to his head, twisted his footsteps to form a circle then in the next second his sword shone along with a spell formed on the ground eliciting the same reaction.

Lan An opened her eyes wide, she felt that the stance was familiar to her eyes. Especially if it is not from the ancient book, the Book of Seven Keys, which for many years he could only open two keys, the key of the moon and the key of the spirit. But what he saw this time did not come from the two keys but the style that was one level above him, the key of the sky.

"Fai 'er... He had already opened the second gate of the Book of Seven Keys? He might as well have opened the third gate... His strength is getting more and more unpredictable, he's growing much faster than me." Lan An gripped the sword in her hand tightly.

During his time in the Thousand Feet Army sect he had never wasted any time in training, a single day he had never missed without grasping a sword.

Over the years he continued to practice forging strength, sharpening the sword in order to avenge his mother's death.

Today the young man was able to see the person who was trying much harder than him. Lan An smiled bitterly when she saw Xin Fai's sword emit black smoke which in the blink of an eye cut the opponent like paper.

On the other hand the spirit energy began to be felt around him, he was still very familiar with this energy because he had previously owned the Book of Seven Keys and back then for many years had never unlocked the sky like Xin Fai did today.

Seeing how powerful the stance was he grew even more amazed, it indeed seemed like the Book of Seven Keys could only be used by the possessor of a Demon Man's body.

"It looks like he can handle it himself" he said slowly. Lan An was intent on turning her back. Suddenly he could feel a huge axe aiming at the back of his head. Lan An had yet to draw his sword to save himself and now the tip of the axe was right in front of his face.
