The Devil Sword Swordsman

The Devil Sword Swordsman
Ch. 43 - Xin Fai's Aid

The throngs of people swarming the village gates throng. It turned out that since the sun had not yet risen Xin Fai had already made arrows and fired them at the flying birds.

"Quick burn the bird and feed it to those who are hungry."

One of the women took a bird that was lifeless, her tears flowing.

"Thank you for helping us, I don't have anything I can give you to repay your kindness.."

"No need to be confused. I'm just helping out as I can."

With Xin Fai's previous experience while in the slaughter village, he could aim the arrows quite precisely. Birds that happened to be migrating south were targeted. From the shot Xin Fai managed to gather seven birds.

Xin Fai brought the three remaining birds, she gave them to the woman who was lighting the fire.

"Hopefully with this you can survive until I return."

"Sister... Where are you going?" One of the children familiar with her was about to cry.

"Ah, I'll find some food for you. Relax, I'll be back later."

"Promise?"

"Yes..."

A grandmother approached Xin Fai, she gave him a talisman necklace with a black rectangular stone as her jewelry.

"This is our talisman, I hope you can return safely. Don't deal with the tiger there, he's very dangerous."

Xin Fai nodded her head in understanding as she lowered her head as the grandmother held the talisman, temporarily focusing on finding a way for the villagers to survive.

Xin Fai looked at Lang who was being surrounded by a small child, the wolf decided to approach him.

Before leaving Xin Fai had asked a young man who was a warrior to guard them from the tiger attack. The young man respectfully agreed.

Xin Fai has promised that he will not stay silent to let innocent people die because of black warriors. Of course there will be a lot of sadness if it happens again, one of which is the sadness that exists in Xin Fai. His days were hard when he remembered his family.

Lang ran as fast as he could, with that neither a single beast nor a robber intended to disturb them. Previously Xin Fai had already taken the gold coins lying beside Dong Chai's corpse, the money he would use to buy food in Anguo city.

The trip took half a day to return to Anguo city. Xin Fai bought some food and transported it into a bag. The bag tucked in Lang's back made the wolf angry.

"What a wild wolf like me would be a donkey! Take off this bag or I'll sit you down?!" Lang rebelled, he moved wildly trying to take off the bag.

"Prophe Lang, you look more dashing with that bag. Like a wandering wolf..."

Xin Fai almost laughed to see Lang eating his talk. He went to a store and bought rice seeds and other herbs.

Although it was still a child Xin Fai had a distant look. He thought about the fate of the village in the future by buying as many seeds as possible.

As he was about to buy even more Xin Fai was startled with a pat on his shoulder. He looked back and found a smiling man behind him.

"Little boy! You're Xin Fai's not it?"

Xin Fai frowned long ago recognizing the man, she was reminded of a storyteller man from Huo City. Who often became his talking friend, To Mu.

"Ahaha, long time no see." Xin Fai scratched her head while giving a small grin.

"What are you doing in a farm store like this? Have you switched professions as a farmer? Too bad, heroes like you have to be bad luck, I'm sorry." To Mu stroked the back of the regretful child.

"Hero? A farmer? Whatchu mean?"

Xin Fai digested To Mu's words, it turned out that his name was already quite famous there. "I didn't buy these seeds to grow crops."

"So?"

"I mean, it's not me who grows crops."

Xin Fai explained about the village that was being hit by famine. He intends to help by buying all the useful materials.

"Hm..." To Mu stroked his chin. "I think I can help you. Your goal is glorious, little boy. I have no reason to let you fight on your own."

Xin Fai's smile widened again. "really?"

"Yes. It just so happens that the troops I lead are resting here and our goal is indeed in that direction. I think our horses can help carry your luggage." To Mu gave an explanation while pointing at Lang with his chin.

The goods Lang transported were reduced, but the wolf did not protest anymore. He stared at his shadow in the puddle and felt confident.

"Wolf wanderer. That name suits me." Lang muttered yet could be heard by Xin Fai.

"Little boy, what's so funny that you laugh so?"

"No, forget it."

The troops brought by To Mu moved around carrying large quantities of food, while Xin Fai and Lang transported plant seeds and some medicines that would be useful later.

Although it had run at the highest speed but still the horses could not match the speed of Lang's feet. Xin Fai had already arrived at the village when it was two at night and immediately gave some medicine and a little food that was with him.

When he heard the upcoming after-food Xin Fai could see how happy the people were. One of the village chiefs knelt down with tears streaming down. His breath choked with a trembling sound.

"I don't know what to repay your kindness for... Master Xin Fai, what can I give you?"

Xin Fai lowered her head while helping the man in his 40s stand up. He spoke softly.

"I want uncle to direct the people here to plant all the seeds I bought, make sure this famine doesn't happen again after I'm gone."

The village chief's wife gave him a small bag of beautiful gold, Xin Fai gently refused.

"I can't take it, I'm sorry. That gold will be more useful for you in the future."

Several times the woman persuaded him not to make Xin Fai accept the gold. When the cavalry had come happiness came again, they received food with joy.

Some young men drank clean water greedily because the latter that entered their throats was only murky well water.

To Mu chatted with the residents while boasting his sect, Bukit Daun Kemangi. Xin Fai could only help her smile seeing the man's behavior. Very exalting his sect, perhaps he felt that To Mu's intention to help this village was to promote his sect.

It was getting dark when Bukit Daun Kemangi was about to continue the journey to another place, they left two horses so that they could be used by the villagers to go anywhere.

Xin Fai was also about to leave after finishing conversing with the village chief.

Dozens of people surrounded the village gate with a haru atmosphere, ranging from small children, the elderly, youth and other adults. They put on the same face, happy.

From a distance a young man shouted out loudly when Xin Fai and Lang were already walking quite a distance away.

"Xin Fai, we residents of Hemei Village will always remember your services! I promise I'll tell my grandchildren later!!"

Xin Fai nodded with her trademark smile as she waved her hand. While Lang only realized, there was a little happiness he felt when helping others. It was a very valuable experience for him.
