The Devil Sword Swordsman

The Devil Sword Swordsman
Ch. 266 - End of the Resurrection

Lan An unleashed the whip that the Demon King created from the neck of the Dark Lord, the fight had just stopped when Xin Fai finally did not create anything else.

The Sacred Sword Alliance moved in unison locking onto the movements of his body, they regretted one thing at the moment. The power of the Dark Lord is now gradually weakening, his spirit also appears to sink like it is about to disappear. He was still trying to recover, in order to have time to convey something.

"Your name is Lan An, isn't it?" ask the weak Dark Lord. While turning his gaze aside found Lan An was worried about her condition.

"Truly Senior."

"I'm sure you'll be the hero who protects many..." The Dark Lord held his chest in pain. The hand he used to support the weight of the body became trembling, his gaze blurry it was hard to see how Lan An's current expression was.

"Until that day comes ... You should be by his side, Demon Man needs someone to support him to the end. I don't want you to make the same mistake as me" the Dark Lord said. "Even if he says it doesn't matter if everyone hates him, you can be the one to support him. Qiang Jun is Xin Fai, and you are my old self ...."

Slowly the power of the Dark Lord spirit faded, making his figure begin to fuse with the air. At the end before the Dark Lord disappeared, Lan An could feel the sincerity in his smile. He looked towards Xin Fai who was being carried to a cooler place. Waiting for him to wake up while helping other members recuperate.

Just five minutes later Xin Fai had woken up, she sat down trying to remember what had just happened. For a moment only a long sigh could be heard from his mouth.

Lan An immediately walked over when she saw Xin Fai waking up, she thrust out water with a smile as usual.

"Did I hurt a lot of people?" Xin Fai twisted her gaze around the corner and was able to deduce a single word from what she saw. That's ruined.

"There was one member of the Sacred Sword Alliance who was injured but had already been successfully treated by the priest who was still standing guard in front of the gate."

The young man looked better than before, he was stunned for quite a while until his head looked up towards Lan An.

"Where is the Dark Lord?"

Lan An did not dare to answer carelessly, she turned her mind to look for answers that would make sense but Xin Fai already knew of her intentions. After all Lan An did not want to make Xin Fai blame herself.

"Next ...."

"Tell me the truth" Xin Fai cut in. His gaze turned serious making Lan An have no other choice but to tell the truth.

"The King of Darkness used all his strength to hold you back, all the undead resurrected him. It sucked up the rest of his strength and in the previous end we were pessimistic to defend against your power. I don't know what happened, you suddenly stopped attacking and at that very moment the Dark Lord disappeared."

Lan An ended her story while sitting on Xin Fai's side, looking at her from the side. "You don't have to worry about him anymore, I'm sure he's calm now. Our job is to continue something they haven't been able to finish."

"They're both?"

"Qiang Jun and the Dark Lord, we must make sure the demons within your body completely vanish and will not rise again in the great war a few more years–"

"We're not going to fight that demon again, Brother An."

Lan An was stunned for a moment deciphering the speech that had just sounded in her ear. He narrowed his eyes a little.

"War will not be canceled but who became our enemy in the future is not the Demon King anymore..." Xin Fai turned her face away in order to stare at Lan An. "Play against my sister, Xin Xia. The real war is just about to begin."

"Yes too ... Fighting the Demon Queen was much more frightening as it was," Lan An replied and he ended up drowning with his own thoughts. Actually Lan An wanted to know more clearly how the fight that Xin Fai was facing earlier but given the circumstances did not allow him to just undo his intentions.

Turning his attention to another topic, Lan An said to Xin Fai slowly. "After this ... What are we gonna do?"

"You think?"

Lan An sneered, she was also actually lazy to think of an answer. "Maybe go back to the White Mist Valley?"

"No." Xin Fai's answer was enough to leave Lan An speechless, she stared straight at it then hoping Xin Fai would immediately explain what they were going to do in front of her.

"We will surround the Shang Empire, take back the land that the Demonic Blood Man had captured and destroy the enemy headquarters, before the day that the Imperial Pillar was unveiled, we must complete the tribulation that everyone felt."

"Dn ... Looks like this is gonna be the next long trip." The young man scratched the back of his head which did not feel itchy at all. He elbowed Xin Fai, pointing forward with his chin. "Prepare Zhu Yue will go berserk."

Xin Fai then circulated his gaze forward, finding Zhu Yue walking towards him with a hostile face.

"Why didn't you ever say there would be an incident like this? Chief Xin?" Zhu Yue suppressed her voice to still sound polite, she did not want to speak with high intonation to the Sacred Sword Alliance Leader, no matter how this young man in front of her was her superior.

"I'm sorry, it's my fault I didn't tell you. I guess after obtaining this sword we can proceed back to the Lotus Temple sect. At least they can help seal this demon."

"You are this ... Always thinking of everything yourself, you don't consider my whereabouts as vice-chairman, what?" Zhu Yue snorted, sitting beside him while chugging the wine.

"This is my problem, I think telling you will only worry you."

Zhu Yue took a deep breath, she shook her head. Although physically tired due to the fight was still felt but it did not feel nagging Xin Fai his mouth was itchy. The man then embraced it.

"Your problem is our problem too, next time don't keep it alone."

"Yes... Yes, now you look like my mother, instead" Xin Fai's laughter rang towards Zhu Yue. He laughed mischievously at the look on Zhu Yue's face, the man looked annoyed like he was.

The Sacred Sword Alliance regrouped after resting for quite a long time, the night before a bonfire was made in their midst. The atmosphere became peaceful for some time, not too noisy or silent.

Their attention was all split as the fully recovered Xin Fai stood before them. Little tells about the Demon King that has been conquered and the plan to stop the resurrection of the Demon Queen.

This situation had actually been known to the members from the very beginning, they had expected that there would be a major war within a few more years. A war involving all sides, costing tens of thousands of lives in one hope of victory. The Demon Blood Humans who had controlled nearly a quarter of the Shang Empire could not be allowed to develop any further.
