Ch. 89 - The Great Threat
Huang Kun and Xin Fai looked at each other in awkwardness, his Senior facial line was terrified when he saw Xin Fai easily cut off people's legs without any guilt.
The assassin groaned in pain, he growled resentfully afterwards, swearing even to vow to avenge Xin Fai someday.
A smile spread wide on the face of the assassin after that, he said cynically.
"Even though I die, I make sure you die too."
Xin Fai turned wary, he noticed the hand motion of the assassin who was about to hold back his sword.
"You're off guard."
Dozens of poisonous needles darted quickly surrounded Xin Fai from behind, with the Blood Devil Human sword Xin Fai fending him off but several other needles struck him.
The skin affected by the poisonous needle turned purplish, Xin Fai growled in annoyance. But he actually had nothing to fear about it, once master Fu Shi once said that a person who had obtained a snake stealth gem would be immune to 100 poisons. And it was proven, when he saw his skin that returned to normal.
"Damn! Who are you really?!"
"Many questions!" Xin Fai was about to slash the man but again a poison needle attacked him.
"I know you're here! Out you!" angry Xin Fai. Someone has fired poison needles from somewhere else. Supposedly within this distance, Xin Fai could still feel the presence of the enemy but this time he could not feel it.
Again dozens of poison needles attacked from behind his back, Xin Fai turned around and found no one.
Seeing Xin Fai bewildered, the assassin was satisfied even though his legs were cut off. The man crawled towards Huang Kun.
"Senior! You just kill that coward!"
Huang Kun turned deathly pale again, ever since leaving the Lotus Temple he had never once taken a life. Even in a fight, he can only hurt the enemy.
Huang Kun pulled the sword tremblingly, the assassin rose up and rested on his sword.
"Keep such fear, and I will kill you with pleasure!"
Drenched blood soaked the walls of the room, Huang Kun opened his eyes wide. I heard heavy breathing beside him. "Next time act like a man. Just killing you can't do, tomorrow-tomorrow you'll be killed."
Shen Xuemei came and said it flatly, to him those words were ordinary but in Huang Kun's heart the words were very imprinted. Huang Kun was not angry at Shen Xuemei at all but himself was angry at himself.
A hitman swears in his heart, one favor has come again making his situation even more cornered but on the other hand he still has hope in someone.
Xin Fai put on a watchful attitude, she closed her eyes for a while until she could feel the energies moving around her.
"Here!"
The Demonic Blood Man Sword stuck right in Xin Fai's own shadow, after which a girl emerged from the shadow while laughing covering her mouth.
"Well, you can also know my whereabouts just by closing your eyes. I just want to make sure something's here."
A look of annoyance floated at him, Xin Fai brandished a sword towards the girl. "So you were the one who was looking at me in the town square!"
Despite saying boldly but truthfully Xin Fai was a little anxious, she could not feel the air of this girl's existence and also her strength was very mysterious.
"Tch, do you remember? But I'll make sure after this your life won't be quiet again."
The girl widened her smile until her gums were seen, Xin Fai who had seen even demonic monsters was made to creep by her.
"Your Demon Human Body will be targeted by all the assassins in the world."
Xin Fai's heart felt like it stopped beating hearing him.
Still in her shock, the girl lifted the assassin man on her shoulder, she lifted him without the slightest trouble. Then he jumped out the window and disappeared in the dark of the night.
"Since when did they find out...?"
His heart skipped a beat faster, imagining thousands of hitmen with the power of a great swordsman ganged at him. Xin Fai gulped roughly, she squeezed her hair.
"It's nasty! If they know who I am, it's certain that the people around me are also the target!"
"Faier..." Huang Kun tried to calm Xin Fai down, he was actually more surprised than her. "Take it easy, I promise to protect you" Huang Kun said even though he was unsure himself.
Huang Kun felt that he must immediately become a strong person, however, he could not let Xin Fai alone face thousands of assassins someday.
"No, Senior will be in danger. It's..." Unknowingly clenched his hands, Xin Fai just this time felt extremely threatened. To be honest if this only concerned himself he did not matter, but if the impact would be felt on the Lotus Temple as well it would all be very different.
Shortly Li Yong came entering the room after successfully defeating the two hitmen in front.
"What's going on?"
"Seniors... The mercenary already knew about my Demon Man's body," Xin Fai said anxiously.
"What?! I've made sure in our sect no one would betray this news!"
Li Yong stomped his head while walking back and forth in front of Xin Fai. He was even more panicked than Huang Kun.
"It is certain that in the Lotus Temple sect there are those who betray, this cannot be allowed at all." After saying so Li Yong approached towards Xin Fai, he still harbored his anger.
"I promise to take care of you, Fai'er. You have nothing to fear" Li Yong said. To be honest what Xin Fai was afraid of was their safety, not her.
Xin Fai's eyes turned out the window, the girl had fled from that place. For a moment everything flashed in his head. If his true identity had been known to many hitmen, the best step he would have to take right now would be to go undercover.
'I must become stronger to protect all of them.' His inner self when addressing Li Yong and the others.
After a moment of anxious look on his face could not be seen anymore, Xin Fai began to calm down. He should not be afraid just because of such a threat, would a thousand or hundreds of thousands of hired assassins would be killed, and after that he would also destroy the group called the Blood Devil Man. Now that those two things were his life's purpose, he vowed to do so despite having to bet lives.
The determination that he had been saving up had become the current spirit of Xin Fai.
"I can't die until my revenge is avenged."
The remark made the eyebrows of the person who heard it furrow, Shen Xuemei asked lazily.
"You have a grudge against Huang Kun? Is it because he mocks you a lot?"
Huang Kun looked at Xin Fai as if he wanted to eat her alive, if the young man was a monster surely his eyes would give off a red glow.
"No, not Senior Huang!" panic Xin Fai.
"So? Me?" shen Xuemei's face was too innocent, she had misunderstood Xin Fai's intentions.
"Not really! I mean..."
Li Yong pointed at himself. "So you actually have a grudge against me?"
"No! Arghhh! You pranking!"
Li Yong, Shen Xuemei and Huang Kun laughed. Because Xin Fai's age was indeed the youngest among them, it was no wonder he was always the object to be bullied.
Xin Fai could only snatch out annoyance but on the other hand her mood was not as bad as it had been. Xin Fai realized, even though her Senior named Shen Xuemei was extremely cold yet behind her nature she was always trying to comfort the others.
