Ch. 74 - Six Months
The day turned morning, the atmosphere in the Lotus Temple was crowded by the disciples of the sect, 6 months after the presence of a Demon Man among them the atmosphere was quiet as usual, the sun was shining that day, trees and wildflowers were swaying in the wind.
The falling leaves flew as the wind blew on the road to the gate, the grounds of the Lotus Temple were filled with shady trees and in the yard stood a bell tower. Lang fell asleep with his body docked to the building, in recent days many disciples from the Lotus Temple sect who often disturbed his sleep made the wolf angry.
Today the people in the Lotus Temple looked busy, making him content to enjoy sleeping from afternoon to morning. Cold air greeted him very gently as if he was stroking him.
While there was noise in one of the western buildings, Lang just moved his ears to hear the commotion without opening his eyes.
After eavesdropping for a moment Lang opened his eyes slowly, he saw a senior priest walking towards him.
"Lord Wolf, it seems that your master today can already be free after completing the sealing of demons."
Although acting as if he did not care, but seeing Lang's tail wagging indeterminate direction illustrates how he waited for the stupid creature to come out.
Lang was led to the basement by the priest, after ten minutes of walking they reached a very gripping place.
And what Lang found really upset him, he growled in his place. "What the fuck? Why did your master treat you like a beast?!"
The Taoist priest Wei who had just completed the last stage of sealing the demon shook his head slowly. "We have no other choice."
Xin Fai's body was so thin as a skeleton of bones, her eyeballs were deep and her eyes were blank. When he spoke, his voice seemed to have run out a few months ago from screaming from the pain and hunger that had haunted him for months.
"What... Am I going to get off... Today?" Xin Fai's breathing sounded heavy, Tao Wei was devastated to see the state of the child. Xin Fai was able to accept everything airily even though her current condition had become extremely miserable.
"Already, the devil in your body we have sealed. You can be free."
After saying so Tao Wei removed all the chains and other objects that bound the child, Xin Fai fell to the ground unable to balance his body anymore. Lang immediately approached and channeled his inner strength to his master. Golden light moved out from his body and into Xin Fai's body.
The priests there did not dare to doubt Lang's actions, a while later Xin Fai's condition slowly began to improve. At least, he was able to open his eyes for now.
Lang had never expected to see his master in a more than miserable state, even a grandfather almost dead was still better condition than Xin Fai.
After Xin Fai was taken out, the one thing Xin Fai had never felt again was the warmth of the morning sun. He closed his eyes slowly while enjoying the sun exposure and the cold breeze.
"Ah, I haven't felt it in a long time. Living underground made me long for something as simple as this." he muttered along with the look of his sad eyes, his gaze was much more mature than it was 6 months ago.
During the sealing period many things were contemplated by him, although in a tormented state he tried to shift the pain by thinking.
Xin Fai realized that it was the grudge in her heart that made the demons within her even stronger, as well as with her previous fight with the demon monsters, she learned that the demon gems also played a role in strengthening those demonic powers.
Tao Wei who was beside Lang explained that in the past 6 months Xin Fai had not eaten or drank at all, it made the wolf aghast.
"Devil humans have a privilege compared to ordinary humans, they can live without eating or drinking for a certain period of time."
Five plates of food had gone into Xin Fai's stomach, the boy added again and again like a man of doom. He paid no heed to the other priests who were amazed at the speed of his meal.
After Tao Wei agreed with the other priests to let Xin Fai rest, the boy stretched his body on the bed happily.
"I'm finally free..."
Xin Fai examined his chest and not finding any more of those demon-shaped burns, he suddenly recalled his last fight with the clone created by the demon monster.
"I have to grow stronger after this to face the demon monster in front of him..."
Xin Fai blinked her eyes when she realized Lang was staring at her from earlier.
"What's wrong with you? Why do you keep staring at me like that?"
"really? You're so confident, I just think you've been dead for six months," the cynical Lang laid himself down. He rolled up in the corner of the room.
"Oh, just tell me you miss me. Don't be shy, hahahaha!"
"Grrrhhh boy! Just let your mouth go again!" Lang snorted in annoyance, he did not have to worry about Xin Fai's state. Seeing the child still can babble like a parrot has explained the situation is not as bad as before.
"Who started whose thing? Weird wolf, I'm out." Xin Fai quickly left after that, she was about to relish the atmosphere outside.
"Hey, didn't the priest tell you to rest?" protest Lang. Xin Fai who heard him smiled bitterly.
"If I continue here, I will be the first spirit to die of curiosity because of your scathing words."
Lang woke up even though he himself was a bit annoyed, the wolf lowered its head letting Xin Fai climb onto it.
"Woah, your kindness really amazes me. Where did you learn to do good, Lang? Was there a big rock that hit your head as long as I wasn't around?" oceh Xin Fai while riding Lang. Perhaps the wolf could take him for a short walk in the Lotus Temple sect, since Xin Fai himself had not been too familiar with this place. But the wolf's intent was completely beyond his expectations.
Lang did not care anymore, he put up a swing to prepare to run at the highest speed. Xin Fai's body, which was like a sheet of paper, was almost flying.
