The Devil Sword Swordsman

The Devil Sword Swordsman
Ch. 185 - Meeting Again

"Hahaha, today our catch is a lot! The western part now we can control almost half of it!"

"Oh, if there's no Lan An we can't possibly do this..."

"True, that's right! You see how he cut off his enemy? Like cutting leaves!"

Lan An propped up her chin with a lazy gaze heading out the window, she seemed unconcerned about the constantly rotating surroundings. His mind glared so far that he finally grew tired of thinking. His dark eyes were radiated by the brightly lit wall lights, his drink evaporating untouched.

The atmosphere tonight reminded him of seven years ago, when he came alone to the Mist Forest to pick up his little sister. All that was seen in front of the forest were the remains of arrows and the corpses of black-flowers who tried to break through the forest. He smelled the stench of stealth blood and realized it was the smell of Lang.

When trying to follow the smell it turns out he was surprised by a stealth sound that echoed through the sky, his heart stopped beating but his legs did not want to stop to continue to go into the forest and find Xin Fai at any cost.

Lan An was silent in the middle of the dark of the night, trying to look around her meticulously and realizing something strange was starting to happen. A burst of thunderbolt screamed over the sky, trying to hit the earth and scorch his body, Lan An fled dodging every lightning bolt that struck him. The number grew more and more, the trees collapsed endlessly in each second until he fell down when the tree trunk hit him.

Lan An tried to get rid of the tree but her hands stopped when she saw some demons hauling away Lang and Xin Fai's bodies. A demon with even greater strength was standing in front of there.

"You! Oi, wait! Stop that!" shouted Lan An scavenging the ground, he screamed loudly so that the fox demon would listen.

"Please! Give me my little brother back, damn it! Wait!"

The fox demon did not pierce him and passed by just like that, no more signs of lightning would strike him again. The next morning Lan An woke up at the inn, the Thousand Foot Troop picked him up and brought him back to Renwu city.

From that day on, no more smiles adorned her face, she realized that night she could no longer sense Xin Fai's existence. His little sister is gone. That's all he can conclude.

Lan An released a warrior embrace beside her lazily, she let out a heavy breath. There was still a lot to do tomorrow and he chose to return to the inn immediately.

Just walking a meter from where Lan An was sitting was greeted by the arrival of Yong Tao and a young man beside him, he lowered his head to show his respect to Yong Tao and turned to look at people who felt familiar. His cold face turned soft as his eyes looked at Xin Fai who was now smiling faintly.

"Senior Yong, what are you doing here? I don't think a wine shop is your choice if you want to just take a break?"

"Ah no, not me. But this young man, he wants to talk to you."

Lan An frowned in surprise, she was trying to obey Yong Tao's words. "What do you want to talk to me about?"

"I haven't had time to think about what I'm talking to you about either. Then we get out of here first while thinking," he asked without asking Lan An's approval.

Lan An showed her unwillingness to follow Xin Fai's words.

Seeing that Xin Fai immediately said. "Senior Yong wouldn't have brought me to you if I were a dangerous person."

Lan An still put on a wary face, however she still did not realize who this young man was. Slowly they walked down the streets of Renwu until they reached the main point of the city. Some statues and historical buildings plastered there so dashing.

Lan An raised her face to look at her own statue, her expression still flat from earlier but when her eyes fell on the statue of a little child beside her, the young man's eyes became sad. His eyes dimmed in the darkness of the night.

"What did you bring me here for? If it doesn't matter too much, we'd better take care of it, I'd like to rest." Lan An's face remained stiff, perhaps after seeing the statue something within her had been piqued. He hurriedly left the place and Xin Fai did not want to check on him either.

"When I want to tell you something, Brother An."

The clattering of Lan An's feet stopped, his feet pegged in place of the foot hearing the title. Faintly the voice of the little boy became heavier and what sounded behind him was a young man who had just called out to him with that designation.

"Do I need to introduce myself a second time?"

Lan An was still in disbelief about this, she observed Xin Fai's face more clearly because she hadn't paid much attention to him before. Slowly Lan An approached the young man wistfully, he tried to recognize him and it was true that the face was indeed familiar to him.

"You're still alive? Little brother?"

"I wouldn't have died that easy if you hadn't known." Xin Fai chuckled softly but Lan An's response was different from her, her eyes started to glaze over. Anyone who knew Lan An as this White Dragon would naturally be astonished. His handsome face was too cold that it was difficult for him to show any expression.

"You really are Xin Fai, right? Or just his spirit?"

"Hahaha Senior Yong will scream if I am indeed a spirit like you said–"

Lan An held her tightly, for a second the circumstances began to be awkward.

"Huaah!! It's really you little sister!"

Xin Fai did not know what kind of attitude to respond to Lan An's childish attitude, either, he understood her because at this moment the young man had no family anymore and Lan An considered himself to be the only family left.

"There is no need to cry" he said calmly. He felt somewhat uneasy about the gazes of the warriors around him. They either believe it or do not believe that crying is Lan An or not.

After feeling that Lan An was beginning to calm down they chose to sit on a bench not far from there, Xin Fai stared at the frenetic Renwu city's goal. Although it had long since passed, the atmosphere of this city had never changed.

"How are you?"

Lan An smiled slightly. "That stale question doesn't suit you" he replied.

"Eh? I see, huh?"

"How did you survive? And also... Where did the golden wolf go? Why is he not visible at all?"

That question left Xin Fai speechless for a long time, feeling wrong to ask Lan An was intending to correct his words but Xin Fai said first.

"The wolf is no more."

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have asked."

"It's okay, '" Xin Fai replied afterwards. "Compared to that, how are you? I hear it seems like your name is getting heard more and more these days."

"Hahaha I'm not that famous, little brother." Lan An scratched her head while giving a funny grin.

"Well, how could they suddenly just say your name if they didn't know you."

"Who is that?"

"A girl, she's very pretty and her hair is straight."
