"I think it's going to be a long journey..." Xin Fai fused his hands together to be able to hold the river water, then drank it.
Lang commented on Xin Fai's tired face indifferently, "That's because you keep interfering in everything. You stupid fool."
Those spicy words had already become an everyday meal, at least that was what Xin Fai had been feeling all along. He chose to sharpen the tip of the spear to catch fish in the river.
Somewhat long ago Lang was lazing around, while waiting for so long he started to think Xin Fai was dead inside that river. The boy did not come out of the water, making Lang take the initiative to dig a grave after finding the child's corpse.
"Fuaah!"
Xin Fai rubbed his face making the surrounding water break apart, he raised two fish in his grasp.
Not having time to dry himself, Lang hurriedly let out a question. "Aren't you diving for a long time? I even think you drowned earlier."
Xin Fai who was about to gather the wooden twigs stopped moving, she seemed to recall. "yes too. Just a minute."
Lang looked at Xin Fai who was back running in the river, about four minutes had passed and Xin Fai appeared to the surface.
"Hey hey isn't this weird?"
Xin Fai examined his body, whether if left alone he would turn into a mermaid. That was the first time Xin Fai feared.
"Try to remember first maybe you've consumed something strange."
Turning on the fire he mused, a moment after finding Xin Fai's answer staring at Lang. "Is this because of the crab's stealth gem?"
"It can be."
"Before I also got the dragonfly stealth gem... What effect?"
Lang did not reply, he rolled under a shady tree after about three days of travel.
While waiting for the fish to cook Xin Fai made use of his time to practice, he opened the Book of Seven Keys and read the first sheet; the Key of the Moon. The Crescent Moon Kick movement turned out to be the lowest, Xin Fai could not accept it considering that Lan An's kick last time was strong enough.
"Depending on who is using it as well" muttered Xin Fai. He was standing in a tree.
"The Crescent Kick!"
The tree only made a sound, there were no cracks in it because Xin Fai did not use any inner energy. The boy went to the waist thinking of another way. This time he put up a shift and gathered energy inside.
"The Crescent Kick!"
Just a small crack in sight made Xin Fai completely dissatisfied, she scratched her cheek looking for another way. He took the Book of Seven Keys over his bag and reread it.
The book let out a strange air every time Xin Fai touched it, though he did not bother about it.
With the horses steady Xin Fai came back to do the same.
"The Crescent Kick!"
Along with his twisted body instantly his feet emitted a mysterious smoke. Xin Fai crouched down furrowing her brows, the book within her grasp also did the same reaction.
He did so repeatedly until he came to the final conclusion, there is a spirit in this book and if its use with this book real power will come out.
In addition to natural energy there is also spirit energy that is rarely encountered, in the book Xin Fai can feel energy that is so strange than he has ever known. Xin Fai tried the ninth style which seemed to be quite easy.
"The Half-Circle Month?"
Xin Fai frowned in astonishment but tried to practice it, in the first trial the sword he used only moved as usual.
But over time when the sword formed a half circle of black smoke that lasted five seconds in the air, the smoke formed a half circle.
Xin Fai used the stance to the tree before him and the result was that the part hit by the tip of the sword opened wide without making any sound. Like it's lost in the earth.
Xin Fai was amazed at the way he made it, it was true that the moves of the Qing Empire were so unique. He couldn't even breathe for a few seconds.
The smoke coming out of his sword suddenly billowed at one point and revealed a frail figure. It made Xin Fai startled to the point of falling down, she crawled backwards in fear.
"Ha-ghost!"
"Who do you call a ghost, little boy?" The man was angry, he was resting with one stick in front of him.
The question made the man raise the corner of his lips, the man's bushy black beard moved like a caterpillar. As soon as Xin Fai's back was in cold sweat, she was afraid of caterpillars.
"I am one of the thousand spirits of the people of the book."
Waving his eyes, Xin Fai was flabbergasted to hear that fact.
"Se-thousand?!"
Xin Fai began to be wary of hearing that there were a thousand spirits within the book, if only they had evil intentions it was certain that today he would be killed. He looked to the side and found Lang sleeping.
"Based on a lazy wolf, in a crucial moment like this he even sleeps!" Inner Xin Fai cursed loudly. He also couldn't possibly scream to wake Lang, so he could be as angry in front of him.
"I don't know what you mean to show up in front of me, if you want the book back to you please take it I won't get in the way." Xin Fai said as smoothly as possible.
"You stupid?"
Hearing those words Xin Fai was struck, she coughed a little.
"The book you have fully. So there is no reason for you to laze over the book" the old man approached.
"Come here."
Whether dangerous or not, Xin Fai's instincts said that not obeying the spirit's will was like digging his own grave.
The man's index finger came into contact with Xin Fai's forehead, while closing his eyes the old man was muttering.
"The perfect Demon Man, 3 stealth gems, the power of the Golden Hairy Wolf and.... what is this?"
Xin Fai did not expect the man to be able to read the number of stealth gems he had collected as well as the truth that he was a Demon Man. It was certainly new to him.
"Why? You found an awkwardness?"
"Yes... I can see the devil in you has started to grow. The devil should have risen when you were 12. It's a lot faster than I thought."
Xin Fai let the old man sit down, before they introduced themselves first.
"I'm a spirit from Daan village, my name is Kaibo."
"Daan Village?"
"You know that?"
Xin Fai had certainly heard of it from Lan An. "That village where the Demon Man statue was erected."
"Demon Man, huh? I remembered the young man who locked us up in this book..."
Kaibo recounts that long ago when spirits seemed to roam freely and disturb the human calm the figure of Qiang Jun came. He made a book which is now the dwelling place of the spirits. They are not actually evil spirits but their presence makes humans uncomfortable.
Even humans had to perform a massive ritual to expel them, it made the spirits seem to have no place to live.
"At least I thank him for giving us a home without having to come into contact with humans." Kaibo ended his rather long story, Xin Fai began to understand. He shrugs his chin while thinking.
"What about the devil in my body? Do you think that's dangerous?"
"Yes, it's dangerous. If one day the devil manages to steal your consciousness it means you have to fight with him."
"Fight with the Devil?"
"You don't want you to have to."
Xin Fai's face was suddenly lethargic, she recalled Fu Shi's words saying that the demons seemed to have a million inner strength.
"Isn't that impossible?" He said limp, his face filled with despair.
"Then from that fate brings us together, I will help you to be strong. As a form of repayment to Qiang Jun."
