The Devil Sword Swordsman

The Devil Sword Swordsman
Ch. 50 - The Cursed Forest

The next morning Xin Fai was startled by Qiao Feng's scream, the little girl claimed not to have found her sister since this morning and said Qiao He went to the Cursed Forest alone.

Her mother also panicked, while carrying the baby in her cradle she invited Xin Fai to go to the forest. Xin Fai rushed off first compared to them.

For a moment Qiao Feng was stunned to see Xin Fai's running speed, as well as his mother.

Xin Fai felt that there were still some ferocious beasts within the forest, he increased his concentration to the highest level. The hearing reaches a distance of three hundred meters from where it stands and increasingly reaches far places. From the west he heard the sound of human footprints, Xin Fai galloping after him.

Sure enough when he managed to catch Qiao He step he found the girl was being chased by two red-eyed rats that Xin Fai met last night. He was sure the rat was no ordinary mouse.

Qiao He threw the stone he had picked up to slow down the pace of the rat, but while throwing the stone his foot stumbled over the tree trunk.

Brukh!

The two mice ran with their mouths open to eat their meat. Instantly the wind gushed and it was seen Xin Fai following with such a high Light Step. He slashed the two rats nimbly.

It took four slashes to kill them without using any inner force because the rat skin was thicker, its size was even twice as large as an ordinary rat.

"What did you say last night?! Have you killed the rats here?! Look, they're still there!" Qiao He clenched his emotional teeth, his eyes letting out tears in fear.

"What I said last night was that I had killed the demon rat king, while the rat cubs here numbered more than a thousand. They are of course still alive, and are having more and more children.." Xin Fai gave an explanation but still could not calm the girl down.

Qiao He appeared to blame Xin Fai despite being rescued, he entered the forest because of Xin Fai's words last night.

"This forest is far more dangerous than you think, in just a second your life can float. Just two mice like that make you cry, especially if you look at thousands of rats at once.."

Xin Fai was goosebumps considering the view of the sea of red-eyed rats last night. He was almost killed by the rats.

"Thousands? You kidding?"

"Do you think I'm kidding?"

Qiao He no longer replied, his face just kept on going. After coaxing him back home, Xin Fai walked hurriedly following Qiao Feng and his mother who were walking apart from them. Xin Fai was afraid of bad things happening to the two people as well as the baby that was brought along with them.

Fortunately they were able to meet, Xin Fai walked the very back making sure the others were safe. He put his sense of hearing as sharp as possible, fearing that something unexpected would strike suddenly.

"When I was seven, I almost died in this forest."

They listened to Qiong Lin tell a story. "But one of the swordsmen who happened to be here was willing to sacrifice his life and hold the demon king to the mother safe."

Honestly speaking when telling that Qiong Lin's face was very sad, he had to owe a life debt to someone he didn't even know his name. Along the road they could find were mountains of corpses, human bones and a foul smell that had been buried for so long.

Xin Fai was already getting used to the smell, unlike the two girls Qiong Lin who kept vomiting as the smells dropped into their noses.

"If you want to see the corpse of the rat king's demon shouldn't be far from here." Xin Fai walked towards the side, she took a breath trying to smell the fishy smell of blood in the air.

Less than fifty meters where they stood was a huge hairy corpse lying lifeless.

Qiao He covered his mouth with widened eyes looking at the corpse as he himself had never seen a demon directly.

"You're not really lying... But how did you do it? Our father was even killed by the demon king." Qiao He's gaze now changed on Xin Fai.

Xin Fai raised her eyebrows.

"Your fathers?"

"Yes, about two years ago." This time it was Qiao Feng who replied, he surrounded the stealth carcass while covering his nose. The foul aroma released was very fishy.

"Then his body should still be around here."

Xin Fai decided to escort Qiong Lin who was now searching for her husband's body to be buried properly, occasionally she was surprised by the same thing–a snake suddenly fell on her head.

It was still early in the morning yet they were already quite exhausted spinning in the vast forest. Xin Fai gave a sign on the tree so that they would not get lost.

Occasionally while finding the corpse of the swordsman Xin Fai searched his luggage and found some useful items such as books and some gold coins. Of course he did so without the knowledge of Qiong Lin and his son.

Unexpectedly nine rats emerged from within the mound of land, Xin Fai advanced forward and asked Qiong Lin and the others carefully.

Xin Fai took out the Demonic Blood Man sword, it drained his profound energy. The sword lines that were originally red were now turning gold after being fed with deep energy.

The engraving on the Demonic Blood Man's sword changed color as Xin Fai had seen before, a change that signified that the sword had changed owners.

A strange sensation was felt when Xin Fai used the sword, he was no longer surprised by the change in the color of the sword. But there was something much stranger, within seconds Xin Fai could faintly hear something like trying to talk to him.

But he doesn't know what it is. While the rat in front of him was getting closer, as much as possible Xin Fai did not let the rat pass through.

He took out a Thousand Spirit Force that was much stronger than before, the four of them disappeared instantly as if swallowed by the earth.

Qiao He widened his eyes again endless he was made shocked, this time his calves trembled considering the events of last night. Her mouth was so presumptuous to Xin Fai, and she felt she had to apologize as soon as possible if she did not want Xin Fai to be offended.

Within a countless amount of time the nine rats had vanished, Xin Fai sheathed his sword again. He looked back and found Qiong Lin's gaze fixated on a single point.

"Qiao Guan's..."

Xin Fai stared at Qiong Lin's gaze and how shocked she was afterwards. The corpse that was of concern to Qiong Lin was the owner of the Blood Devil Sword that was in his hand.
