The Devil Sword Swordsman

The Devil Sword Swordsman
Ch. 48 - The Blood Devil Man Sword

Xin Fai initially felt that the baby in her carrier only had a short lifespan given its extremely cold body temperature. Xin Fai placed the baby into Lang's warm body while taking out the dry bread.

With a water supply Xin Fai dipped the bread until soft and can be chewed by the baby easily. Xin Fai breathed a sigh of relief after successfully feeding the baby. He stared at the corpses around him that still looked new.

All the bodies in front of him were confirmed lifeless and he was about to make a funeral as he could. Xin Fai began to dig into the ground, sweat flooding all over his body as the sun began to rise.

At least some of these bodies are still intact, some others are only partially left and separated. Lang himself chose to laze while keeping the baby nearby, the baby was not as sweet as earlier because Lang's feathers were warm and made him not cold as last night.

Xin Fai stuck out his sword that was filled with the ground while wiping his forehead with all fatigue. After making their funeral they continued their journey out of this forest, the crows perched on the branches of the tree stared at them from end to end as if they could not believe that any human could escape the forest.

Throughout the journey only human carcasses are visible in this forest, the number also makes anyone gaping in disbelief. Starting from human skeletons, precious items as well as high-value swords.

This forest in addition to being a sea of death also holds many valuable treasures belonging to its victims. Xin Fai cited some items that he thought were interesting regardless of Lang's nagging. However, the owner of these items is gone, if he lets it someday also the goods will be taken by others.

Xin Fai took out the contents of the bag from Lang's back and inserted some precious treasures with a satisfied laugh.

"Haha! Really lucky! I will become a rich merchant!!" Xin Fai exclaimed in astonishment, his hands stretching wide like a pirate raining gold. Lang clicked slowly and chose to walk first, his sanity somewhat disturbed if he saw Xin Fai for too long.

But moments after Xin Fai did not catch up with Lang, the boy crouched down in front of the corpse of a black swordsman. Lang narrowed his eyes, unwillingly approaching to see what Xin Fai was watching.

A sword belonging to a member of the Blood Devil Man was stuck beside the corpse of the swordsman. Xin Fai wanted to pick it up but Lang interrupted quickly.

"Hey someone like you doesn't match that sword because–"

Not finishing his talk Xin Fai had already pulled the sword from the ground.

"Because what?" Xin Fai asked as if nothing had happened. Lang was astonished, he sat watching for a long time but nothing happened.

"You don't feel the energy in you being absorbed by that sword?"

"No, I can feel this sword matching me."

"matching you?! Don't joke, with that sword everyone will consider you a Blood Devil Man!"

Lang said so because generally people who do not have a red scorpion tattoo will be absorbed in energy and life energy by the sword. The sword has special powers that make it unusable for just anyone.

Xin Fai watched unwillingly towards the sword, the red stone gems adorning at the two points of the sword making it extremely beautiful. As well as the extremely elegant red stripes, Xin Fai was amazed.

"Let me bring this sword, at least we can sell it when we get to town."

With a heavy breath Lang agreed, the baby in Xin Fai's hand was now whining due to the pressure from the Demonic Blood Man's sword.

Xin Fai slipped the sword behind him, now that Xin Fai had brought the two crossed swords in front of him. He smiled with satisfaction, his face was so happy to get valuables like this.

Within three hours they finally found their way out of the forest, at the end of the road there they could see a beautiful stretch of hills. The baby in Xin Fai's sling is now more comfortable because the stench and pressure from the forest do not disturb his sleep anymore.

Once thought by Xin Fai looking for milk for this little baby, he traced far ahead carefully and found a house. Beside it there are other buildings that are likely places of animal livestock.

"Hopefully they keep cows or goats" Xin Fai said slowly. Lang heard. "For what? Don't do anything weird, I've had enough of a headache with your demon laughing." Lang grumbled in annoyance.

"Oh, don't be so bad think first basic wolf chatter. You see this baby's probably starving."

Previously Xin Fai had taken care of a baby and of course it was her own sister, Xin Xia. She has at least a little experience when it comes to taking care of babies.

"Hawahhh..." Baby cries rang out, Xin Fai was drunk. She clutched the baby tighter because she thought the wind here was quite cold.

Xin Fai's eyes were fixed on a necklace with the inscription on the baby's neck, she read the baby's name. The daughter's name was Lian Kaili.

To return this baby to his parents at least Xin Fai has taken an inlay with a beautiful emblem and carving of his mother's corpse. If true, that thing is an identifying mark of a noble family. Xin Fai kept the thing under her cloak and focused on coming to the house nearby.

After a while they finally arrived at a relatively simple house, Xin Fai knocked on the door slowly.

A woman came out with her two children who seemed to be the same age as Xin Fai, they were confused by her presence alone. Lang had previously entered Xin Fai's body so as not to make others suspicious.

"I need a shelter, and a little milk for this baby. If you don't mind, I'll give you some gold pieces" Xin Fai said. The woman before him smiled faintly.

"Come in."
