The Devil Sword Swordsman

The Devil Sword Swordsman
Ch. 255 - The Shadow of Darkness

The figure of the shadow was visible right before him, still holding the same flute but this time the circle of his eyes was clearly visible. Like animal eyeballs, it has sharp canine teeth as well as a proportion of frail thin body like a coconut tree struck by lightning.

But Xin Fai realized that even though his body was so thin he had strength that could not be compared to the humans out there, the black magic he used clearly showed he was a human in the past. The question in his head was how this figure turned into a deadly evil spirit.

"So you've been guarding this village from the humans? Make everyone here your puppet?"

"This move... I haven't seen him in so long..." There was a sinister stammering sound, the shadowy figure spoke softly but could be clearly heard in his ears.

"Hm? You ever seen her before?"

"What brings you here?" Again the figure diverted the conversation, making Xin Fai had to rack her brain to get the answer she wanted.

"Searching for something you've been protecting these ten years?"

Faintly able to see the change in attitude of the shadow of darkness, he looked more alert than before.

"You feel great wanting to take it from me? When I was alive, I had the title of Dark Lord. You must have heard of it, right?"

"Sorry, don't know at all."

The shadow figure was silent between annoyance and embarrassment, he sounded a snort and cursed Xin Fai inwardly. Absolutely could not let him be happy, at least after disappearing from the martial world people still remembered his great name. He himself had already forgotten how long time had been running and had only been protecting this village every day.

"You're from the Qing Empire, obviously I don't know your name." Xin Fai made it clear again.

"Have you forgotten, I don't have time to talk to you anymore. If you're done with it, this isn't the place for you to visit."

"I didn't visit but looked for the Celestial Emperor Sword and the Demonic Human Sword."

"Currently, you won't get it because there's nothing here you're looking for" he said quickly. Trying to avoid the topic of conversation.

"I can confirm that one hundred percent of the two swords are here, even the actual tomb of Qiang Jun is behind that high hill."

The shadow figure felt a little astonished, he felt that not a single human had managed to survive from this place so the information regarding the whereabouts of the two heavenly heirloom swords and the tomb of Qiang Jun was not known at all.

"Look like you're so confident in your words, how can you prove that to me?"

"It's easy" Xin Fai said, moving her hand towards a hill not too far away from them. "The driver and lightning were constantly striking at only one point on the hill, indicating that there was a great power residing there. And you think I'm going to ignore the roll of clouds that keep swirling over that hill? Doesn't it make no sense? Moreover, the residents said for years always sound rumbling there... You don't think I can guess why?"

"One piece of evidence is not enough, you don't have a good reason and I won't let you touch that hill, not one inch!" The thunderous roar of lightning sounded like it was splitting the sky as the shadow figure bluffed, a fleeting red lightning visible in this illusionary world.

"I have another strong reason, and this is the reason why I came here." Xin Fai said it seriously. "Qiang Jun who said himself the two swords were with him to death. And I've been looking for a little information about the history of this village since a few days ago. I heard that ten years ago hundreds of warriors entered Guangfu village after getting word of the appearance of the Book of Seven Keys in this place, although the book was successfully hidden by the Lan Clan, the news of the mysterious tomb on this hill was still a target." The young man took a breath for a moment to continue.

The shadow figure was only silent by a thousand languages, not believing what Xin Fai had said the first time. "The Celestial Emperor told you so himself? You're bragging too high! He's been dead for thousands of years!"

"You too should have died thousands of years ago and now you can still be here because you sealed your spirit in this village. Is that true? If so, why couldn't the Celestial Emperor do the same?"

The shadow figure shook his head, the look in his eyes changed as he looked at Xin Fai.

"So you think Qiang Jun is still in this world?"

"Can be. Now do you trust me?"

"Still not yet, I won't let you go just for those two reasons." The owner of the title of Dark Lord never wavered, he remained at the original answer. Will not let anyone enter Guangfu hill.

"Kingivali Darkness... I'm sure you must have some connection with the Celestial Emperor, you must understand exactly who those two legendary swords were created for, right?" Xin Fai was starting to run out of sense arguing with such a stubborn spirit, during his life the Dark Lord must have been a bitch.

"The two swords were created by the most reliable forgers in the world! Made especially for the possessor of the Demon Man's body and that sword would only be able to be pulled from its sheath by using demonic power!"

"Well, you finally understand why I'm standing here." Xin Fai said tiredly, hoping that the Dark Lord would give him a chance.

"You mean–"

Only silence was heard afterwards, Xin Fai realized the Dark Lord needed proof of his words and immediately unleashed a large amount of his demonic power. Making the undead moving along the path obstructed as the power controlling them was interrupted by one extremely powerful demonic energy power.

"The Devil Man has been reborn...? That means it's been a thousand years since that day?" The Dark Lord murmured a little, at first glance there was regret in both of his eyes and Xin Fai had no intention of offending him. The relationship of the Celestial Emperor and the Dark Lord must be put aside first.

"That's. Can you stop those living corpses? Looks like my friends are in danger because of them." Xin Fai worried about Lan An who was previously exhausted facing those hundreds of undead.

As he requested, the bodies stopped moving and were at one time scattered on the ground after their operators disappeared. The Dark Lord looked up to realize that the red sky of the Illusory Blood Rain was now fading, revealing its darkness that night.

The shadow figure patted Xin Fai's shoulder slowly trying to ask her to comply with her request.

"I always hoped to be reunited with my old friend, because I he had to sacrifice himself... Because I the prowess of the Celestial Emperor must disappear... I should have protected him by then..."

Xin Fai recalled the bat story Fu Shi used to tell, he said that the humans used to think of the Celestial Emperor as a threat, he said, as he desperately tries to fight for humanity, his friends betray him and take his life while he is dying in a great war.

Perhaps the figure told to have been saved by Qiang Jun used to be the Dark Lord, but unfortunately at that time his friends actually killed Qiang Jun without thinking. And the Dark Lord could only remain silent and do nothing, which was what made him regret until this very moment.
