Ch. 224 - Under Night Protector
After giving farewell greetings to Shen Xuemei, Li Yong, Huang Kun and also the other Holy Sword Alliance moved to leave the sect.
That short enough farewell almost made Huang Kun cry, he still did not let the junior go alone and intended to follow them but Li Yong did not allow it.
The trip could certainly endanger Huang Kun's safety, moreover Xin Fai said there was no guarantee of survival if he joined them.
While Ho Xiuhan had officially been appointed as the Holy Sword Alliance, it meant that the members had grown to 88 people. The man stood firmly in line, along with his face that looked much more radiant than before.
After making sure nothing was left behind Xin Fai turned her body around, walking away and getting further and further away from Li Yong's sight. The priest actually did not want Xin Fai to leave yet he himself could not stop that. After all his strength was needed by everyone, but on the other hand he was worried about Xin Fai's safety. The world out there is so vile, it is not impossible that the news of the death of the head of the Sacred Sword Alliance will be heard someday.
Li Yong closed his eyes, praying for the safety of Xin Fai and everyone who went with him. A moment later Shen Xuemei said, sounding like a small mutter.
"Fai'er is an adult, he can definitely defend against all the villains out there."
The journey to Daan Village took two days and two nights, when night fell they chose to rest. The group stopped at an old inn that was not too big, in which was seen a young girl cleaning the room. Kala realized their arrival the girl immediately cleaned her hands and greeted kindly.
As usual in terms of bargaining Zhu Yue was indeed number one, she approached the table to receive guests. "We're going to book 45 rooms at a time, if we can cut down on a little rent, Miss Pretty." Zhu Yue teased, almost Xin Fai coughed seeing the man blink his eyes flirtatious. Unexpectedly it also turned out that this representative of the Sacred Sword Alliance liked to tease women.
"Can't be sir.."
Xin Fai closed her eyes sultryly, she was intending to sit on the chair while waiting for Zhu Yue to finish arguing.
"A little can't be reduced?"
The young girl nodded slowly. "Not so, we only have twenty rooms that can be rented so we can't accommodate all the guests you bring."
Zhu Yue finally understood and she could only scratch the temple in confusion. His eyes quibbled to Xin Fai asking for a decision on this matter.
"Then only half the members can sleep well tonight, that's not fair at all." One of the members protested.
"I don't care, the important thing is now that I can sleep Vice Zhu."
"But can't we sleep four of us in one room?"
There was a slight commotion that night, Xin Fai let out a heavy sigh and then drew his sword. "I'm not sleeping tonight, for your room matters to handle yourself."
Before Xin Fai actually left Zhu Yue first held back the young man. "Where are you going, Chief?"
"Hunting. Who wants to come, come on. I don't want to wait long."
Zhu Yue stopped her horse when she arrived at a slightly brownish white monument, looking for a long time until the others stopped looking at it.
"What's wrong?" Xin Fai walked back when she saw Zhu Yue and the others lagging behind her.
"No, Chairman. I only remember going to this place with my Grandmother and sister, Zhu Ye. Well, I miss them even more." murmured the man with a big smile.
"You will meet them soon," Xin Fai replied with a smile.
Unexpectedly a demon appeared, a terrifying aura surrounded his body which was filled with the marks of the arrows and spears. He pounced on the entourage leaving two people injured in the blink of an eye.
"Retreat! Back off!" Xin Fai ruled decisively, he immediately drew his sword quickly then unsheathed at the demon. The eyes of the centipede who had aged over a hundred years were bright reddened, he was a demon but his strength was not too great. It seemed that the creature had gone through a fierce fight over the past few days.
Without wasting any longer Xin Fai launched a deadly attack on the demon, his swordplay injured the enemy in a very fast time.
Black blood gushed down the tree trunk, Xin Fai cut the demon's neck in one straight slash making it instantly dead without making any more movements.
The fight ended sooner than they had expected, their lead force was getting more and more terrifying day by day. Somehow explaining it Zhu Yue alone did not know what else to say. Ever since meeting Xin Fai at the group's inauguration ceremony nearly a month ago, the young man had been much stronger than before.
Xin Fai crouched down to pick up the demon gems, the lightning of his eyes lamenting the members of the Sacred Sword Alliance who still saw himself fixedly. Xin Fai quietly placed the jewel on her spine and absorbed it in her body.
'I must search for the two remaining gems to perfect this body.' his inner being. Xin Fai passed the horse followed by the others, in the hunt that night they managed to catch a forest goat and some rabbits to eat together.
Sleeping with the sky as a roof they are used to feeling, the smell of dry grass and dirty soil has been their friend all this time. Among all the members no one complains, they do the task wholeheartedly and never expect more rewards. Presumably the members of the group that Yong Tao chose were indeed the right people, Xin Fai thought.
The next morning they left the inn, Zhu Yue woke up earlier than all of them and requested that the trip be resumed immediately. The sun had still yet to emerge yet the Sacred Sword Alliance had already moved past the lushness of the tall trees.
Zhu Yue seemed to know more paths in this place, she turned her gaze around feeling recognize the place.
While they were busy looking ahead Xin Fai was instead distracted by a small temple set up in the middle of the forest, she narrowed her eyes to get a sharper look. Not long after that his face began to turn murky. He had no intention of telling and ascertaining things first.
"Chairman, after passing this road we will go straight to my village! We'll stop first at granny–'s house"
Zhu Yue stopped talking. His hand that was pointing forward slowly descended with the roar of his increasingly messy breathing. Faintly visible smoke billowed up there, the fishy smell of blood strongly piercing the nose making them all in big question marks.
Xin Fai caught up with Zhu Yue who sped up to run her horse to get out of this forest immediately, when the two of them could clearly see what was going on in the village it was precisely the horrifying sight that had greeted them up ahead.
