SURVIVORS

SURVIVORS
Chaptre 160. Survive on the Cliff

Robert was grateful when the tide was high, they were already on a cliff higher than before. But it was so open and right on the ocean side. Each time the waves hit the reef below, splashes of water hit all three of them.

Robert was only anxious if the waves were as crazy as during the storm yesterday. Their position can be dangerous. Prone to be swept by the big waves. But tonight they are very tired and hungry. Climbing the precipitous rock from is not an easy thing to do by those whose feet are as badly injured as Liam.

Robert and Laras together help him ride. One pushed, another pulled Liam's body which often fainted. The cooperation they kept under such difficult conditions.

Liam is often unconscious because his wounds are not stopping to shed blood. Robert and Laras were just as anxious to see that. However they could only cover the torn wound with a cloth, tying it tightly while hoping that the blood would stop coming out.

"You take care of Liam. I'll see what's next to it." Show Robert in one direction.

"Hmmm. Careful slippery and it's dark." Laras nodded.

"Yes." Yeah."

Robert walked to the cliff wall because the width of the footing was only about a meter, and the waves were relentlessly breaking in the coral to splash the water that continued to wet the place.

Until the surface he stepped on ran out, Robert still had not found another path they might be able to go through. Robert looked up, then exhaled softly.

"The cliff here is very steep. It can't be climbed. Except by the person who owns the rock climbing equipment," murmured Robert.

Robert finally decided to return to Laras and Liam's place.

"Is there something there?" ask Laras. Robert shakes. The barrel went back to silence and leaned well on the cliff wall. His body was soaked because it was endlessly splashed by sea water. While Liam lay weakly by his side.

"Robert, what is it?" Point Laras at objects that are oscillating at sea level near the cliff.

Robert looked carefully. Under the twilight, which was almost over, everything almost looked as black as the shadow of the coral.

"I can't be sure" said Robert. He tried to close his eyes to get tired. Ignoring the hunger that starts to bite.

But Laras can't be like Robert and Liam. He looked at the ocean. Then he saw it getting closer. He believed it was a package of supplies prepared by the wife of the village chief.

'That's food' inwardly.

Laras wanted to tell Robert that, but he didn't. Robert was sleeping exhausted. The barrel turned its gaze back towards the object that was rocked by the waves. He saw the waves pushing the object closer to the cliff below. The barrel tries to crouch down and prepares to grab it if it gets close to its reach.

But his hand was still far from the surface of the sea in that way. So he slumped on the surface. Just on the edge of the cliff. Next to his hand pressed firmly into the rock where he lay down, the other side was free to reach down the cliff.

The barrel waited patiently for the waves to deliver the thing to the edge once more. His eyes swayed following the waves. Sometimes he rubbed his wet face.

"He came.." murmured Laras with a slight twinkle in his eyes. He was preparing to reach out toward the swing of the thing.

"Can!" Said Laras happy.

He held it tightly and tried to get up from his face. But one of his hands slipped which made his body balance waver. Before his face hit the surface of the rock, the other hand reflexively held the weight of his body.

Stunned barrel. The object he had grabbed had slipped and fallen into the sea, pushed the waves away from the cliff.

"Oh no!" He stared at that thing.

Byurr..

The sound of things falling into the water shocked the sleeping Robert.

"What's that?" Robert asked next to him. But there's no Baras there. He soon found out that the sound of falling must have been due to Laras

His face was turned to the sea. Searching Laras. He saw someone swimming against the waves chasing objects that were getting away.

"But, forget it. Let's return. The sea is deep!" robert shouted anxiously.

But Laras didn't hear it. The sound of waves breaking on the rocks filled his eardrums. He tried hard to stay afloat as the waves rose and drowned him in the water. The barrel continued to swim towards the parcel.

Hap!

The package can be expected. He immediately turned around to swim back to the cliff. Laras was surprised when he realized he had been taken too far by the waves. But giving up now means suicide. Then he started swimming towards the cliff. Robert's hand was his guide.

Efforts do not betray results. The barrel finally reached the bottom of the cliff. He could already hear Robert's worried voice. He threw the parcel he was chasing with his life at Robert.

Robert showed the package in his hand.

"Good! Now I'm going upstairs!" Shouted Laras happy.

The barrel swims slightly to the left. Following the path they had previously used to ascend to the top. His observant eyes saw something sandwiched between the corals. Retrieved it.

"Thank God." Barrel looked up at the sky.

"Robert, get this!" yell Laras again.

"Throw!" replied Robert.

Laras threw the object he found towards the cliff. Then start climbing up.

"You scared me" Robert hugged her tight until Laras found it hard to breathe.

"I can't breathe" whispered Laras.

Robert realized. "Ah, sorry..sorry." The release of Laras's soaked body.

"What are you chasing after? The danger!" Robert was worried

"So I got it. But detached. That's food. That's why I'm after." Baras.

"Let's go to Liam's place" Laras asked.

They shared a coconut fruit and a packet of grilled fish that had been soaked in the three. Not too filling, but it's worth being grateful for. At least tonight the worms are not holding a demo in their stomachs.

The night, the air gets colder. Their bodies that are always wet, are not a good thing. Robert just shivered withstanding the gusts of cold wind. What else is Laras and Liam who are not healthy.

"I want to look at that side. Can you take care of Liam?" robert asked Laras who sat curled up with a trembling body.

"Hemm.." she replied.

Robert stepped slowly up to the side of the cliff. The longer the footing stone gets wider. Robert is excited to move forward. He found a gap in the cliff wall.

"This gap is protected from the waves. It can also withstand the gusts of cold wind," Robert murmured after observing it.

Then Robert returned to Baras

"I found a better place to rest. Come on." Take Robert.

Barrel raised his head. Then nod. "Let's get Liam up there." Baras. Robert nodded.

They walked toward the wall that Robert saw.

"This place is good. It's just a little dark." Baras.

"Yes. But for tonight, we're safe here. Tomorrow we try to go upstairs. Be patient." Said Robert.

"Robert's.." Baras hesitated to speak.

"Say." Robert looked at Laras who was hugging his knees

"May I hug you? I'm cold." Barrel endured the embarrassment of that request.

"certain. You can call me anytime. No need to ask." Whisper Robert haru. How much this woman he liked was still trying to maintain her pride. Even in such circumstances.

'Are you that I've liked you for a long time?' inner Robert perplexed.

He never said it because he knew that Laras had kept someone in his heart. Robert didn't want to break that line. Laras' loyalty to his love should be respected, even if it's not for him.
