SURVIVORS
Chaptre 55. Sheep Shepherd (+ illustration)

The next morning, Dean and Alan went out immediately after breakfast. They want to check the furnace that was made yesterday. If that works, then the next thing is to make a few small bowls for melting iron seeds. They were so excited this morning.

Sunil and the Goddess entered the cave to haul out the stones. They are starting to lack coal as well. Nastiti and Widuri collect food and tame the sheep.

The morning at breakfast Dean divided the task and emphasized the importance of sheep milk to compensate for their diet minus the salt. So the widow must be able to tame some ewes who are in breastfeeding to be kept in order to be milked.

"How to tame the sheep? He only gave me tasks that he believed I had failed to do. He just wanted to show his strength" Widuri grumbled along the way.

"You look like a boyfriend who is hooked and spoiled," Nastiti casually quipped.

"Whatchu mean? What boyfriend?" Widuri's not happy.

"In this team, everyone has to do their job. Don't keep grumbling like a spoiled little girl. Almost all of us who are stranded, do many things for the first time here. We all just learned to live independently. So don't keep protesting." Nastiti has been very upset to see the attitude of Widuri these few days.

Nastiti sped up her pace leaving Widuri who still wanted to argue.

"Am I really acting like that? The spoiled little girl?" muttered Widuri while following Nastiti in the back.

"Have you ever hurt a man? That's why when love comes your way, you get so angry?" Nastiti asked as she continued walking.

"Well?!"

Widuri. 'Love?' his inner.

"Who's in love?" Widuri.

"Heh. Then don't regret it when I approach her." Nastiti stepped up with a bright face.

"Ahh, that handsome guy. I'd be willing to accompany him to stay here, if he really wanted to settle down."

Nastiti started to dream. His voice was carefree and his steps looked agile like gazelle jumping over several groups of grass.

'He looked happy' Inner Widuri who was observing from behind.

'Well, what do I care if he's really in love with Dean. Why should I regret? Who is he?' Widuri continued to speak in her own mind.

"We arrived. Your job is to tame the animals. I take the vegetables and tidy up here. Where's the vegetable seed you wanted to plant?" nastiti asked after they arrived at the vegetable garden.

Viduri looked at the sheep in the distance.

"They're still far away, let me help you out here." Widuri.

"All right."

The two of them began to be busy tidying up the vegetable garden. Pull out some vegetables to give planting distance so that the vegetables grow more fertile.

"Guano in the cave is very good if used as fertilizer." Nastiti.

"really? Then tomorrow we can bring him here to cultivate plants." Widuri.

Nastiti nodded. They made a new vegetable bed for carrot seeds, tomatoes and chili owned by Widuri.

"I'd better go back to the cave and take a little guano to mix with this soil." Nastiti got up to see the results of their hard work. He looks satisfied.

"You take care of the sheep while I'm gone. We will plant the seeds." Nastiti passed towards the orchard and eventually disappeared there.

Widuri put a shovel and a small ground fork near the bed, then took and brought the grass and vegetable leaves they had just cleaned towards the sheep.

"Ieaang, this is a delicious meal for you," said Widuri to the flock while thrusting her hands filled with leaves.

Widuri piled up the other leaves and sat waiting for them to approach while continuing to extend a hand. One of the sheep approached and sniffed his hand before grabbing the proffered grass. As the sheep chewed, Widuri stroked his back gently.

"Hey, where was your fat friend yesterday? Why didn't he go grazing this morning?" ask Widuri while continuing to stroke her fondly. The sheep let it go and continued to eat.

"Where do you live at night? If it rains, is it wet outside? It will hurt hloo if it continues to rain," Widuri continued to talk.

"Embeeekkk," the voice of the sheep was like replying to the words of Widuri.

"Hahaha, you understand my words apparently," Widuri hugged him as she continued stroking.

Another slightly smaller sheep came closer and ate near Widuri.

"You want to?" Widuri thrusting the grass with her hands.

The sheep immediately devoured him while nodding.

"Embeekk."

"Haha. You're so funny." Widuri looks happy to hug the two sheep on the right and left

Dean noticed it from where he built the furnace. He smiled faintly as he continued the work of making bowls for the purposes in the cave. Dean estimates that women will need a bowl to cook and if they want to milk, they will need another bowl. So at least he had to make 2 bowls of sufficient size for it.

Alan crossed the meadow while carrying a few pieces of wood tied to the creeping plants.

"What are the woods for?" tanya Widuri greeted Alan.

"To fence your vegetable garden." Alan replied with a big smile and continued his steps to the vegetable garden.

"Hey, don't bite my shirt" said Widuri as a new sheep came nibbling and pulled his shirt.

"Do you want to play? Alright. Let's play running, "Widuri got up from sitting and chased the sheep that had bitten his shirt while laughing.

"Hahaha, where are you going. It was taking me to play, now run away.. If caught I will uwel-uwel," Widuri continued to pursue while laughing happily.

Dean frowned looking at that. He immediately got up from his seat and chased after Widuri.

"Alan, come!" dean shouted as he continued to run.

Alan throws the woods he was holding and chases Dean. 'What the hell is that?' he thought he didn't understand.

"Eh, where's Widuri?" alan muttered as he passed the sheep flock where Widuri had been sitting.

"Dean, where's Widuri?" alan shouted while chasing Dean.

"He followed the sheep. Let's hurry." Dean's heart didn't stop his run. Viduri is almost out of sight.

"If something happens to him because of the sheep, then the others will make satay!" Alan's promise to himself.

"Damn! He's disappeared!" Dean curses in annoyance and breaths heavily.

Alan was behind.

"Where is Widuri?" ask Alan.

"Quick search. He disappeared near here. Very fast running. Shit!"

Dean pulled out a few bushes to look the other way around. Alan was looking around in circles. They had a hard time searching because it was not the path they used to go through. And the day does not rain, so it is quite difficult to find traces on dry land.

"Ahh, you're here apparently. What the hell happened to you?"

Sayup-sayup sound sound Widuri behind the bush.

"There!" said Dean who immediately scattered the leaves to find the whereabouts of Widuri. Alan was following behind.

"Widuri, where are you?" yelled Dean calling.

"I'm here" came the answer.

Dean rushed towards the voice. He saw a sheep lying there. The place is a little lower. Dean and Alan were going down carefully.

"He's ill. His friend brought me here. Maybe he asked us to help his brother, "widuri's voice was restrained. His eyes looked sad and teary.

"Okay, let's get him upstairs." Dean couldn't bear to see Widuri's eyes like that.

"Alan, help me. Careful, maybe he fell slipping off the top." Said Dean.

Alan swiftly helped Dean lift the lying sheep. His voice sounded weak.

"Widuri, you go up first. Careful." Alan reminded.

"Yes" replied Widuri. He climbed up slowly while holding on to the clumps of wild plants that filled the place.

They finally reached the meadow near the flock of sheep who kept paying attention.

"Embeekkk," a sheep bleeds and approaches Dean and Alan who are carrying his brother.

"We leave it here or take it to the cave?" ask Alan.

"Bring it to the cave. She's ill. Who's taking care of him out in the open like this? Can be eaten by wild animals at night." Widuri.

"OKAY. Come on, Alan, get back to the cave" Dean said.

They had just walked across the meadow when Sunil, Dewi and Nastiti arrived carrying guano.

"What's wrong? Where are the sheep going?" ask Sunil.

"He fell slipping unable to get up. We want to take him to the cave to be treated" replied Widuri.

"Ooh," replied Sunil while putting the guano he carried using the leaves of the tarnish he found near the side shower of the cave.

"Sunil, can you replace me by taking him to the cave? I've got something to do" asked Dean.

"could. Here I help."

Finally Alan and Sunil who carried the sheep to the cave. Dean continued his work making the bowl a half-finished one.

"Your brothers I brought to the cave first to be treated. Do you want to come?" ask Widuri to the sheep that have been following her since.

"Embeekkk," the sheep bleated and nodded.

Seeing the strange conversation, Dewi and Nastiti could not help but laugh, until they were spinning.

"Haha.. You've been made queen of the Widuri sheep. Congratulations," joked Nastiti.

"Haha.. What science do you use until they understand your words?" The goddess also flirted with a big smile.

Widuri could only scratch her hair hearing the tearing of the two.

"Secret," she laughed.

Widuri continued on to return to the shelter, followed by a dozen sheep behind her. They walk in tandem.

Dean looked at the scene, making him recall the image of the sheep herders in the mountains. Dean smiled wryly and continued his delayed work.
