SURVIVORS
268 Chapter. Foreign World

Alan first came to a black dot called Dean. He stopped and floated above it. It was just a huge bunch of rocks in the middle of this barren land.

Dean stopped and went to observe the situation down there. Slowly Dean tried to get down.

"Wait on! No!" sunil shouted through a transmission message. He was darting, following from a distance.

Dean stopped. Looking towards Sunil.

"Review Dean!" shouted Alan.

All scream in horror. Then shut up and shut your mouth with your hands.

Dean turned around as he felt the friction of the air near his head. Eyes enlarge. A figure of a strange creature that was quite large and long-sleeved, fell thumping on the wasteland. Blow dust and sand into the air.

Dean went back higher. Sunil's shout shifted his attention and vigilance for a moment.

Slowly the dust returned. They could see the pesky creature was half dead, with a smoky body and occasionally shaking due to the electrical effects left behind.

"Thank you, Alan."

Dean said it heartily. Sunil floated next to Dean.

"You finally saw it" said Sunil.

"Did you see him attacking me too?" asked Dean in amazement.

"No! The one of a kind with it is now fighting over the head of the horse, right there!" point Sunil towards the place they left behind.

"So you think he's here too?" asked Alan astonished.

Sunil nodded. Dean immediately understood Sunil's path of thought.

"Sunil's right. In this arid place, only this collection of stones could protect them from the hot air. So, it should be their headquarters here!"

Dean floated higher. Alan and Sunil followed. They should be outside the range of long arms like the octopus's arm.

"Then where are we going? The air is getting hotter, Dean," asked Marianne.

Dean looked around. No more black dots as far as his eyes could see. Even if there was, that place should have been controlled by the inhabitants of this world. Dean looked towards the yellowish blurry light that was starting to creep up.

'What is this place?' inner Dean is confused.

He should immediately find shelter for the team members. Or they'll be roasted. If that yellow light was the sun, then he seemed to be faster crossing this place than the familiar sun.

"We have to make a shelter, Dean!" exclaim Alan.

Dean nodded. "Can you protect us with your light dome?" ask Dean.

Alan frowned slightly. "I'll try."

They were looking for a place further away from that cliff. Alan and Dean dropped everyone off.

Alan covered them all with his red light dome. Then Dean took out the pieces of stone from the courtyard that had been cut from the cold stone mountain. Dean pulled out a water and food jar. They'll rest for a while. Waiting for high temperatures to pass.

After drinking, Dean also begins to help Alan make that protection cooler. Dean lifted up all the mountain stone slabs that floated in the air. Put a little bit over their heads, under the dome Alan made. The stones were like shields that held back the direction of the hot light falling.

Sunil sat guard behind the two. Be prepared to provide assistance if both weaken over time.

The rest of the team was unable to speak. They could see Dean and Alan's efforts to keep their lives. They did not dare to make any more complaints. Their difficulties, they're nothing compared to what Dean, Alan and Sunil did.

Marianne wiped away the water quietly rolling on her cheeks. Food was piled up in front of all the team members. But no one wants to touch him. Nah! Dean, Alan and Sunil aren't even thinking about eating right now. How can they swallow food?

Widuri lowered her head, hugging Cloudy even tighter. His heart is breaking haru. She wanted to cry, but Widuri didn't want to weaken Dean, if she realized she was sad.

"I have to be strong, for Dean's sake" murmured Widuri subtly. Several times he took a deep breath.

A few moments later, Widuri became even stronger. He didn't want to dissolve in sadness and add to Dean's worries. He just has to help Dean keep the team.

"Let's eat," asked Widuri to the others.

They look at each other. And Widuri understood the meaning of the confused view of her friends.

"We must have enough energy to look after each other. Based on my experience while on the rock mountain, Alan will weaken after doing this. Maybe Dean is too."

"That was a crucial moment. We're the ones who have to replace them until their strength recovers." Widuri explained what she had experienced while on a rock mountain.

Everyone finally understood. They eat in silence. Restoring the condition of the body under the protection dome made by Alan and Dean.

The yellowish-blurred light was up there, rolling more slowly in this team's wait. It was as if they were counting the seconds that passed.

Although the air inside the dome wasn't so hot, Dean was still sweating. Widuri occasionally wiped her sweat.

But Michael chose a more practical way to hydrate Alan whose sweat pours out like a flood. He was the one who kept the heat outside. So Michael splashed the perennial water on Alan's head and body periodically, to refresh him.

"See the ground beyond that!" niken said in a low voice.

All the team members noticed the dry ground surface was burning. So hot that a white flame appeared transparent on the ground. A little smoke rose into the air. Adding heat to the temperature outside.

"How many degrees is it... The temperature is out there?" ask Michael.

"Maybe more than 100°C" says Dr. Chandra.

??? 😮

"What is this place?" Leon couldn't help his curiosity.

"I think, rather, what planet is this?" Indra Error

The planet???

They're back in shock. Did ya? So that was when they actually passed the Wormhole? Teleportation between galaxies?

Crazy one!
