SURVIVORS
Chaptre 354. Doppelganger or Artificial Intelligence?

That day, a CT scan was performed on Dean, Robert and Chandra's head. One daily doctor Ian glared at the picture on his computer screen. He did not find any injuries to the brains of the three new patients. How can they forget the things that just happened?

Short term memory loss. That's what it says in the book. It can be caused by many things, including trauma and even sleeping pills.

Doctor Ian flinched. What was the dose of dope sprayed by the two pickups? His face was flushed with anger.

He noted all his findings in a report to the colonel.

After dinner, the colonel called two pickups and questioned the two, according to Ian's doctor's report.

The two of them were obviously surprised. They did no wrong procedure at all. Not even hurt those people. How could they now lose their memory?

One of them, back to the place of taking the spray dope in the pharmacy. Pharmacy officers were taken along, along with a dossier of drug discharge.

Colonel Jack Meyers checked the pharmaceutical report. And according to them, the dose was a mild dose that could be tolerated by humans, with no side effects.

"Then how do you explain the condition of that patient who is now experiencing short-term memory loss?"

The colonel said that with astonishment. "No injuries were detected on the CT scan. Not overdosing on drugs. Then what?" said again.

The three people in front of him looked at each other with ketar-ketir. If no answer is found, then one of them will get a sentence from the colonel.

"Maybe the patient has another disease, Colonel?" cerus pharmaceutical officer.

"I think that's the closest assumption. But, is it possible that they just happen to have the same disease?" the colonel again.

The pharmacy worker gasped! His opinion was impressed with self-defense. How could it be that three people of different races and ages, have the exact same disease and memory loss overnight?

"Colonel, we don't yet know what island they've been on for the period of time they claim. Maybe they have a congenital disease from there!" said one of the pick-up officers without thinking. The other one, nodding in support of his friend.

"Look at Ian's doctor's report. Also reporting from the post. They didn't seem to have any disease there. And no dangerous diseases were found in lab tests.

"I remember, when I was in the helicopter. When this island was seen, suddenly the old man shouted unwillingly to come here. He said we're bad people. He won't come!" the officer's story.

"Then you hit him?" ask colonel Jack.

"No! One of them hit my hand that was holding a syringe. The blow was hard, until the syringe fell, "another replied.

"Then?" ask the colonel impatiently.

"As the report we wrote. After that they shouted for the heli to stop and wanted to go down there. In the middle of the sea. Heli was somewhat swaying due to the resistance of the three. Pilot screaming. So, I sprayed the dope out of the air." The man revealed what happened inside the helicopter.

The colonel closed his eyes for a moment. His head suddenly dizzy. "What's this?" thought.

"Colonel, what I'm trying to say is, maybe they're sea creatures. And can't be far from where it came from. That's why, when he saw this island, one of them, shouted in fear" the officer continued.

"You're reading a fairy tale, aren't you?" The colonel tapped the officer's head with the pen he was holding. The officer grimaced his head.

"A completely nonsensical explanation. Absurd!" woe's upset.

"You go! Just make my head dizzy!" banish him.

The Colonel can only make a makeshift report. Until midnight, the report was complete. Directly delivered to his superiors at the Naval Headquarters. Next it is up to them to make what kind of arrangements.

Month passed.

Ian's doctor's examination and cctv observations did not show that the three patients were faking it. Their attitude is consistent.

But Ian's doctor has his own way of extracting the subconscious information of his three patients.

He gave books and pens to write. With reasons as a distraction and channel hobby, if they like to write.

However, out of the three, only two people ended up writing the book. Dr. Chandra writes about her daily activities while in brackets.

Sometimes he also wrote about scientific journals he had read. Journal writing is so detailed. And when Ian's doctor searched the same journal on the internet, he became very surprised. Dr. Chandra's writing and journaling are like a copy. Exactly alike!

Robert has no hobby of writing. Through the observation of the cctv, every time he opened the book, he just sat still motionless for some time. Then cry and close the book again.

Ian's doctor doesn't know what's going on in Robert's mind every time he sees an empty book. But he's an ex-soldier. You may not be used to sitting and writing at the table. The doctor will think of another way for Robert.

What's interesting is Dean's writing. He can write several poems and short stories with various themes. Until Ian's doctor felt, that in addition to being a General Manager at a leading hotel chain in Southeast Asia, Dean was also a writer. Or ... at least, he's a hobby of writing in his spare time.

Ian's doctor proposed to the colonel to allow the three special patients to leave the room, and to be in the inner garden, to see the interaction of the two when they met.

The colonel agreed with the idea. He can't find another way. The head office only said to continue observing the three. The people from the center also observed the same three people, out there. So, until the time has not been determined, then the three people will continue to be special guests and observation material doctor Ian.

The colonel doesn't really like observation or human research. Their job on the island was to research about the ocean. Ian's doctor was supposed to be just a clinic doctor to treat the workers at that place. So the colonel gave a stern warning, so that Ian's doctor would not be careless to use drugs for three people who look very healthy and fit.

Ian's doctor agreed to those terms. He only felt interested in researching the three people in the clinic. Only, if he wanted to publish the results of his research, then he should have a comparison with three other people who were exactly the same, who were out there.

Ian's doctor told the colonel about the Doppelganger idea. That there are actually people who are similar and exactly the same as us, in another world.

"Do you want to say that they are from another world?" The colonel glared at the crazy idea.

"I'm just saying the theories are circulating among scientists. How lucky I am to have research materials like this.

"Well! No one can prove that they are from another world!" The Colonel dismissed the allegations. "And Nasa hasn't even found human-equivalent life in space. Remember that!"

"Then, what else is the explanation? Are you saying that there are certain syndicates that are capable of duplicating humans and replacing the roles of these three people. Then get into people's lives to spy?" doctor Ian's debate.

"It's too futuristic and unscientific! Or, you assume that the three twins out there are some kind of Artificial Intelligence robot? Waw! Haha...."

Doctor Ian laughed amusedly at his own words. While the colonel actually felt increasingly confused since the arrival of Dean, Robert and Dr. Chandra.

Not because the three people were fussy. But it was precisely because wild ideas were constantly evolving, filling the mind of doctor Ian. I don't know since when he went from a doctor to an absurd researcher.

"You're giving me a headache!" grumbling colonel Jack Meyers.
