"Everything has gathered. We'd better continue the journey. There are better places to rest" Linch said.
"okay."
Dean's team is back on their way. Following Linch's steps toward the moist soil.
No one knows for sure how much time has passed. But when the sky started to light up, they had already reached the boundary of the swamp forest. In front of them was an open place as long as the eyes could see. If there are no colorful shrubs here and there, then this place can be called a vast prairie.
Niken and Widuri were stunned.
"It's a beautiful place."
"No! This land is full of magic!" refute Linch.
???
"What do you mean?" ask Robert.
"If it's time, their magic comes out. This entire place would be filled with a mysterious aura. There was a fire in the sky that looked like a surging sea. And all the plants here turn as red as fire." Linch shuddered in horror.
"Is that like my mind?"
Robert looked at Dean with a frown.
"Aurora!" Dean cried with a face of disbelief.
"Tell me. What do you mean, the sky's changing colors, green, yellow, red, purple and so on?" ask Dean impatiently. Linch's shoulder was shaken. It surprised the man.
"You.. You know that?" stupid tanya.
"That's aurora! We're in the northern part of the earth now!"
Dean's radiant face, astonished Indra.
"You look so happy, Dean. Do you know the way home from the north?" ask Indra.
Dean shakes. "It's not. By knowing the current location, at least we know that we are in the north of the earth" Dean replied.
"Did it have any effect on us?" ask Michael.
"Yahh, maybe there's no effect. But one thing is for sure, we are very far from Indonesia. But we can be prepared, facing a temperature that may be lower."
Although a little confused, the others still agreed with Dean's opinion. The north is much cooler.
"So Linch, this place is not full of magic. What you see in the sky is common in the northern sky. If you look at it well, then you'll find beauty there" Robert said.
"And do you know how beautiful the shrubs are if they are well laid out? It was a Kochia grass flower. He will change color with the change of seasons! So it's not magic."
Niken spoke without taking his eyes off the meadow overgrown with colorful groves of kochia. His eyes sparkled with pleasure.
"Why don't you and your wife just stay here?" ask Marianne.
"Yes, this is a great place to start living. You can plant some of this pasture with plants." Dr. Chandra thinks the same.
Dean nodded in disagreement.
"If it's the north, then you might only have a short time to garden. The rest is freezing low temperatures. It'll be hard for the unaccustomed."
"alright. Now, can we rest, or continue on the way?" ask Leon.
"If you think the change in this place is not due to magic, we can rest for a while here."
Linch immediately looked for some dried twigs around. He built a bonfire to drive out the morning cold.
They gathered around the fire. Dean pulled out a meal for breakfast that had been cooked the day before.
Although he had seen the oddity of this team many times, it did not mean that Linch was not surprised to see a pile of bread suddenly appear out of nowhere. Then there is a water reservoir that becomes their drinking water source. This much stuff, it is impossible to be stored in a backpack.
'Are they witches?' his inner.
"How far is that wall of light?" ask Alan.
"Half a day's journey" replied Linch.
Dean mangosteen. He gets ready and stands up.
"In that case, it's good that we leave now. So you can still go home today."
The team again continued the journey, crossing the beautiful kochia flower fields. Then through cypress forest.
"Here!"
Linch stopped near the pile of rocks. Or rather, like a rubble, a rubble.
"Where is the light wall?" ask Leon.
Linch picked up a pebble. Throw it forward. The pebble touched one surface that suddenly gave off light. Looks like a bluish transparent glass field.
"Waaa...! The walls are hidden!" indra.
"Who first knew this? Shouldn't it be invisible?" ask Leon to Linch.
"My friend and I. We were hunting deer when we accidentally ran here. The deer kept running and disappeared into the light.
"She spread the news in the city. And a few times to take people there. But he died under the tree of death, in the swamp. Of the 15 people who left, only one returned with fear and half madness."
Everyone was silent to hear it.
Linch continued his story.
"Since then, the path to the swamp has been heavily guarded. Who wants to go there, has to pay a big entrance fee."
"alright. Now we're here. You drove us safely. Here's the rest of your pay."
Dean handed Linch the money bag.
"Are you sure you want to go there?" ask Linch again. His anxious eyes could not be hidden.
Dean nodded. "We've been adventurous for a long time and many times also passed through the wall of light."
"It's a little food for you on the road." Marianne handed Linch a packet of bread.
"Thank you" said Linch.
"You can also fill your water space to the brim here."
Dean took out a water pot of immortals.
Linch nodded. It will be difficult to get clean water here. So he filled the water jug hanging on his waist to the brim.
"alright. Thank ye. My provisions are enough. You guys can go. I'll keep an eye on you until you leave" said Linch.
Dean nodded. Pat Linch on the shoulder and smile.
"Come on! It's time we go!" said Dean.
"Spirit. Hopefully our steps this time immediately bring us home," hoped Widuri.
"May...."
"May...."
Dean split the team in pairs. It was to anticipate all the possibilities behind the wall of light. Each couple should be able to take care of each other.
Jane rode a horse with Leon. The other horse was mounted by Michael and Robert. Sunil held Marianne's hand. And Alan's keeping Doctor Chandra. The rest, take care of each other's partners.
Dean hugged Widuri and Cloudy.
"Let me go first."
"Bye Linc!"
Shouted them before jumping into the light.
Linch could only wave his hand towards the light that had engulfed those newfound people.
She shook her head. "Dearly enough. You're good people, but you made a stupid decision to get in there. Linch bowed for a moment. Then the light field disappeared completely.
"You full now?" ask Linch who he knows.
He turned around, then walked away from the place with a gloomy face.
"I should have told them what was waiting for them there." Linch just kept muttering along the way.
"The good guys. They don't deserve to end up like that."
Linch pulled his hair in annoyance. He regretted not telling the truth about the wall of light.
"Well, everyone has a choice. They made their own choices. So don't curse me!"
Linch walked quickly. He wanted to get home before the night was over. Hugged Leah and drove out the guilt in her heart.
