SURVIVORS

SURVIVORS
Chapters 21. We Plan God Who Determines

That afternoon at the second shelter, Dean told me about what happened to Team 3. Ask everyone to give their opinion on it. What better to do next.

"I think they better stay there. Anyway, there's doctor Chandra watching and Robert guarding." Marianne raised her voice. "Their body temperature is low, if we move here it will have to pass through the snow-filled forest as well. Then the body temperature may go down. I think the risk is bigger."

"What if the temperature goes down?" ask the Goddess not to understand.

"The possibility of experiencing severe hypothermia that can lead to death. Now their temperature is just low and they are asleep like they are in hibernation. Breath and heart rate are still there despite being weak. Maybe Robert has been trying hard to keep the shelter warm by keeping the fireplace. Until he himself is getting weaker and drowsy because the air temperature is too cold due to rain." Silvia added.

"Yes. And now the shelter's been fixed for the better. The room was made warmer. And Dr. Chandra is conscious. That's been better. The most important thing is Dean has prepared a food supply there. We have to eat enough fat so that the body can produce heat." Marianne nodded at Dean.

"If it's like that, tomorrow we can check back there and bring food for them." Indra gave a proposal. Some people nodded in agreement, then were silent as each one was busy with his thoughts.

"Is there another opinion?" dean asked still waiting for a response. Dean still hopes they can all gather in one place to facilitate surveillance.

Bruck.

"Ouch.. It's here, thank goodness. I can't run anymore." Gilang fell in front of the shelter door and remained lying in the snow grimacing and looking very difficult. Everyone who was gathered was shocked, looking at the door.

"Huh. huh.." Liam followed a fall of his back on the snow with a breath of breath. His chest rose and fell rapidly. His eyes were closed, because he was so exhausted. Dean and Indra immediately got up out to see what was happening.

Not far from there Leon followed with great difficulty. His face was deathly pale, his mouth twitching. He fell away from the door. His hand pointed towards the forest. Leon doesn't seem to be able to stand up anymore. His body trembled a little. Dean ran towards him. "What's wrong? Are you chasing something?"

Widuri approached Leon with a cup of warm water to calm him down. Assisted and with Dean's support, Leon drank the warm water that Widuri offered. The drink ran out quickly. Leon was indeed very thirsty for running so far away. He's starting to calm down now. "Bears. We. chased.. bear. Big, once," he said still with a disjointed voice.

"Where?" Dean's surprised.

"Near the fish trap the direction of the waterfall you said yesterday." Liam answered. There was Silvia next to her helping her sit down to drink some warm water.

Leon nodded. He still felt weak, on the way Widuri entered the shelter to warm himself.

"We went there to pick up fish for dinner. While walking to go home, in the back there were like thumping footsteps and the sound of animal roars. We stopped, and looked, then ran home." Gilang.

"Where's she? nastiti asked in surprise, as the three men did not carry anything in their hands.

Gilang and Liam looked, confused. Then shouted to Leon inside: "Leon, where are the fish?"

"Either. I don't remember where I dropped it. Don't ask anymore." Leon grumbling. 'It's good to be able to run and save yourself, why still fuss over fish? Doesn't it love life?' his inner.

"Did the bear chase you here?" tanya Indra made sure.

"don't know. We just keep running. Don't you dare look back again." Liam replied.

Dean nodded. "Maybe the bear stopped chasing after getting the fish you brought."

"Yes, let's go in and warm yourself up inside. Think about the fish later," Marianne gently appeased everyone.

"Indra, accompany me to check for another fish trap. We don't have any supplies for dinner tonight." Dean walked out followed by Indra.

"I'm coming," Toni followed while carrying a wooden spear. Dean and Indra agreed.

The three of them walked together. This time be more alert to the surroundings. This forest is not only inhabited by rabbits and wolves. There was also a big bear. Dean looked at the wooden spear in his grasp. 'Is this weapon enough to dispel and defeat the bear?' thought.

"The wolf bite scar on your arm how's In?" dean asked Indra.

"It's starting to dry up. It's okay," replied Indra showing his arm that was still wrapped in cloth.

"Good," said Dean.

"Yes, it's better that way. Too many surprises today." continued Indra.

"We plan, God determines," Toni followed. Indra agrees with that. His thumb was directed at Toni with a smile.

"The most important thing in our situation like this is to maintain a sense of optimism. Keep fighting. If you give up, then it's over. With an optimistic and positive attitude, then there is no chance for trauma after the accident to interfere with the soul." Indra chuckled while walking. "I'm not a psyche expert, so that's my simple thought."

"Well, we all have our own inner defense that instinctively comes out when needed." Dean smiles.

"That's called survival instinct" Toni chimed in. Dean and Indra agree.

In the afternoon, Laras and Niken finally wake up. Their bodies are still weak. Doctor Chandra is taking care of them. Robert set another trap not far from the shelter. He came back with blood on his hands. Dr. Chandra was shocked.

"Did you meet the wolf?" Ask worried.

"Yes. He hurt me a little" replied Robert.

"This is me checking." Doctor Chandra rolled up Robert's sleeve. She's surprised.

"It's not a little. It's torn. The beast bit and pulled you, didn't it?" Dr. Chandra concludes.

Dr. Chandra poured hot water on a little bandage cloth to make it easier to clean the bloodstains. They had no wound medicine, so could only clean the wound to avoid infection. Then wrap it tightly so that the torn wound can close back.

"Done. Do not get water before the wound is dry" advises Chandra.

"I'm sorry, we're troubling you" Laras said slowly. Robert looked. "Ah, you're awake apparently." her voice sounded happy.

"Yes, Niken is awake. But the doctor said, we need to rest and warm up first." explained Laras.

"good. Rest." Robert smiled, then stood up and walked out.

"Where else are you going?" ask Dr. Chandra to follow from behind. Robert pointed at the wolf's body not far from the door.

"That I haven't cleaned yet. So it's better to settle before it gets dark." Robert said as he grabbed the wolf's body and walked away from the shelter.

"Don't go far." Doctor Chandra's following from behind meant to help. He knew Robert's hand was injured, so it must have been painful to move. How does he not want to help? While Robert even bet lives so they can eat. While Alex and Michael are unconscious, so only he can help ease Robert's duties.

Robert stopped not far from the shelter and placed the wolf's body in the snow. He dug a pile of snow deep enough to clean the wolf. He began to skin the beast. Looks very proficient. The work was made simple. The head and legs are cut and removed. All that remains is the body part to the thigh.

"Here I help you," said Dr. Chandra when he saw that Robert was about to open the wolf's stomach. He picked up the knife Robert handed him and began to split it apart. All parts of the stomach are removed except the heart and liver. Then the entrails and the wolf's head and legs were again filled with solidified snow to avoid the smell of wild animals.

Robert was cleaning the wolf's flesh and skin by rubbing the snow repeatedly until it was clean. They return to the shelter and find Michael also conscious.

Baras and Niken can sit down. Alex and Lena are still unconscious. The barrel follows the way Chandra's doctor taught it to stimulate her second nerve, but it still hasn't come to fruition.

"What about them?" ask doctor Chandra. Laras. Doctor Chandra approaches Alex, attaching his ear to Alex's chest. 'His 'heart rate is weak and his rhythm is slow' his inner self. Repeated examination of it to Lena, the results were the same.

"It's still like that. We can only wait. Their heart rate is weak and slow. It's like being in hibernation." Doctor Chandra shook his head.

That night was quieter. Robert went to bed first. Laras, Niken and Michael who just woke up can't sleep anymore. The sound of wolf howls was already like a lullaby. They're getting used to it.
