SURVIVORS
Chapters 316. Thousand Islands

It was still dark, at what time the doctor Chandra woke up from his sleep. Robert was awakened sleeping next to him.

"Robert, wake. We're good to go now," he said.

"Huh? It's still dark. Didn't you wait for morning?" asked Robert astonished.

"I think it's better to leave in the dark. It should be able to reach the nearest land without suspicion."

I wake the others up" said Robert.

Everyone woke up and prepared in the dark. Alan helped illuminate the surroundings, to check if anyone was left behind or not.

"We are ready" said Indra.

"You continue to rest inside only," said Sunil.

What about you Doc?" ask Alan.

"I will be with them inside" replied Dr. Chandra.

"okay."

One by one Indra, Niken, Widuri, Cloudy, Marianne and Chandra's doctor, vanish from sight. All supplies and supplies have also been stored back, including stone slabs and perennial water jars.

"Let's go, please" Dean said.

All four were hovering high, to see the direction of the destination. The dim moonlight becomes the guide.

"That! Did you guys see him?" show Alan.

"Yes. Come on!"

The four people darted swiftly to a single dark spot in the distance. The darkness of the night disguises their activities.

They flew for quite a long time and could clearly see the intended point. It is a big island. Very large. But now they can see the light in some places.

"There are survivors there. Someone must have evacuated" Sunil said.

"How now? Going there or somewhere else?"

"The sun rises from here. This should be Kaliman. If someone has evacuated, we'd better not interfere again. We follow the coastline from a distance while looking for another small island closer to Java." Dean gave his analysis.

"We decide that way. We need to hurry up and find another island before the light." Robert reminded.

"Yes, Come!"

Sunil has gone first. Friends followed. They were circling the island's coast from a distance.

They also followed the coastline for a long time. Not much light there. But it remains visible in some places. Maybe it's an evacuation site. On the horizon, an elongated white light began to be seen up towards the sky. Soon the night will change in the morning.

"Isn't that an island?" point Robert towards the ocean.

"We'll just go there."

Dean led his companions darting towards the small island in the middle of the sea. They stopped shortly above the island.

From above, they could see several other islands in the vicinity.

"I think we're in the Thousand Islands now. The series of islands that are between Kalimantan and Java," said Alan.

"It's too small. It seems uninhabited. We'd better find another one, before the light of day" Robert suggested.

The four continued their journey again. This time, towards the larger island that was visible in the distance. There are some damaged properties there. All the trees are gone.

There is nothing more to slam there. So the four continued on their way again. Until the dawn light appeared to illuminate the eastern horizon, the sky began to brighten. They had to find a place to land.

"There!" point Sunil towards a larger island.

The place was quiet, with no light at all. They're coming down closer. But still within safe limits of human view. The place is empty. Not one person was seen. The trees are only the trunk. House debris is everywhere.

"That's one piece" Alan commented.

"What did you expect? It's still an island. We haven't reached Jakarta yet" Dean said.

The four landed on the stinking beach not to be asked again. They immediately clean all the carcasses of sea creatures that float on the surface and stranded on the beach. Maggots were moving everywhere, between rocks and sand.

"Disease!" lamented Alan.

He repeatedly vomited and flew away to breathe fresh air.

"Hey, don't fly around! Hurry back!" call Sunil upset.

When the morning rays really appear, no less than three kilometers of beach area they have been cleaned. Robert, Alan and Sunil burned a bit of sandy and rocky coastal area, to get rid of the maggots that kept creeping everywhere.

Now the place is worthy of a place of rest. Although the smell of the carcass is still being blown by the wind from the surroundings, but it is not as bad as before.

The team rested for a moment. They are tired of flying from midnight to early morning. Dean took out a stone slab for their resting pedestal. Take out his friends and food supplies.

"We rest first. You guys get breakfast ready," Dean said.

"Okay" replied Indra.

As the four people continued to sleep, the other five team members busied themselves as well. Dr. Chandra walks to see the land.

"Don't go far Doc. Then just check the others after they have breakfast" Indra said.

"Yes. I'm just looking around here" replied Dr. Chandra.

He was walking around in the wide open beach area. When viewed from the location of the dead trees that look regular, it looks like this is a beach tourist spot. Maybe a hotel or villa.

"This place must have been beautiful before. But it suddenly changed in an instant," murmured doctor Chandra.

"Doctor, breakfast is ready!" Indra followed behind him.

"Oh, is it over? Why bother to follow. It can be called." Doctor Chandra's smile is friendly.

"You've gone too far. I called you not to listen, right?" indra Reply.

"Oh yeah? Ii'm sorry. Let's go back. They'll worry."

Doctors Chandra and Indra walked hand in hand while chatting.

"What will you do when you get to Jakarta?" ask doctor Chandra.

"Go home!" answer Indra flat. "If Doctor?" askalanya.

"Certainly go home. I'll do it again."

Doctors Chandra and Indra laughed. They arrived just as Sunil wanted to catch up.

"I almost followed, but you guys are back" said Sunil relieved.

"Let's have breakfast!" bring Marianne.

"What's the next plan?" ask Robert.

"Check this island. If anyone needs to be buried, yes buried," replied Dean lightly.

"We're not going on the road?" ask Alan.

"As we saw on the big island last night, it is likely that many in Java also survived and were evacuated. So we can't be careless by flying in broad daylight." Dean explained his reasons for not continuing the journey.

"Rubber. If ordinary humans see we can fly, we can be considered as the cause of this disaster" said Sunil.

"We're not involved at all." Indra agreed with Sunil's thought.

"Sometimes, different it can be considered dangerous by the clueless. Even if we help, not everyone will be happy. We will always be considered as strangers, strange and dangerous." - Dr. Chandra.

"alright. So today our job is to clean up this island. Then rest. Gather energy for the night."

Dean gave instructions. The others agreed. They finish breakfast quickly, so they can start working.
