They discussed the findings at breakfast.
"If indeed the owner of this house has gone through the cracks of the world, then this house no longer has an owner. I'd rather just stay here. We can garden to survive" Mattew said.
"You don't want to get out of this place?" ask Kenny not to believe it.
"The world out there isn't certain either, is it? Just like before, Laras and Liam suddenly appeared in the middle of the war arena. Wouldn't that just endanger the kids?" Mattew explained his thoughts.
"It's..." Kenny can't argue anymore. What Kenny said was true.
"If you want to stay here, then we'll help you as much as we can. While waiting for my back to recover, we better prepare a new garden for you to survive" said Laras.
"Hemmm. about the garden. I think you better create a new garden area outside the city walls. It looks like it's more fertile in there." Liam suggested.
"really? That's good." Welcome Mattew.
"Why plant it here?" ask Laras.
"After checking in earlier, I felt something strange about this town." Liam.
"What's so?" Laras and Mattew asked in unison.
The city is like it never rains. Look at the dust piling up all over the city." explains Liam.
"Even if there is no rain, it is good for a garden close to this house. Let it be watered with water bekss wash vegetables or wash clothes or used bath." Barrel.
"I don't know where the water from this house came from. But it must be quite enough. It can be used to open up a little garden. But in this whole town, not a single tree grew. Not even moss or grass creeps around." Obviously Liam is patient.
"So, only in this house can still plant something?" mumbles Baras.
"It's really weird, ' chirped one of the girls.
"But it's possible, if all the houses here are cleaned, we can find other wells." Mattew.
"Hemmm. maybe too. But it's obviously dirty. Because it's been buried in dust for so long." Liam nodded in agreement to that possibility.
"Ah, already. We will discuss later. Think slowly of all possibilities," Laras stopped the discussion that day.
"We have to discuss this with them before we go" Liam argued.
"Yes I know. So we also don't go now. Give them time to think through all the possibilities calmly. Can you?" laras.
"After all, my back still hurts. It will only be your burden on the journey." added Laras again.
"Don't talk like that. You are not a burden to me. You're hurting my heart." Liam got up and left the discussion.
"Liam!" The barrel called Liam who walked out of the house.
"Let me accompany him to check outside." Kenny disappeared behind the door.
"I didn't mean to hurt him." murmured Laras softly.
"It has. Maybe Liam is just thinking a lot. Give him time." Mattew said.
"Let's look at the backyard. Maybe we can grow with yam too. It's important to survive." Mattew took the teenage girls and the children away.
The barrel chooses to sit on a bench near the window facing the front yard. His eyes saw the garden. But his mind was everywhere.
'If Robert were to face this situation, what would he do?' think Laras.
'So why does Liam suggest gardening outside the walls? What reason? Stupid, why didn't I ask you?' thought annoyed.
"If planting in such a dry city, it must be watered many times with water. That's troublesome." Laras speaks for himself.
"Liam was right, the water source of this house is not yet known. It must be investigated."
Laras got up from his seat and walked down. In the backyard, Mattew arranges the remaining villagers to cultivate the land. They made long beds ranging from the walls of the house near the fish pond, through the rows of empty cages to near the stairs to the top.
"Mattew, isn't it necessary to make a little path in the middle of that long road? Let the younger one pass over there." Barrel Advice.
"I think you're right. Okay." Okay."
Mattew then cut the vegetable beds in the middle. Make a little area to walk. So if you want to take care of the back plants, there is no need to spin too far.
"Where's Miss Laras going?"
A teenage girl approached Laras who was stooping down.
"Call Laras only, or Brother Laras. Okay well? I'm going to the bathroom." answered Laras.
"Let me help."
The teenage girl guided Laras hand towards the bathroom. Posture Barrel when walking, can not be separated from the supervision of Mattew. He looks worried.
Then he walked towards the warehouse. Checking the place where Laras was far away yesterday. What hard things hit him.
With a little bit of cleaning up the barn, Mattew finally found a black and old wooden box under the haystack. Mattew took the wooden box. Watching for a moment. It looked very old, but the wood was as hard as iron. It has engravings with symbols it does not understand. Uninterested, Mattew then arranged it on a shelf attached to the wall.
'It probably belongs to the inhabitants of this house. Falling from the shelf and tucked among the straw scattered.'
Mattew continued cleaning the warehouse. There are 3 large unprocessed wool ties. Some animal skins that may fall with the barrel. And the straw that was scattered after it was struck by Laras.
"Wait on! Where did this hay come from? There are no rice fields or wheat fields." Mattew.
"What's wrong?" ask Laras who has returned home.
Mattew showed the straw in his hand.
"Where did this straw come from?"
"Huh??" Barrel jerking. Mattew's right. There are no rice fields or wheat fields here. So where did this hay come from?
"Let's see the jugs on that shelf. Is there wheat or rice there?" laras.
Mattew immediately checked all the jugs and earthenware bottles that were arranged on the shelves attached to the wall.
"What is this?" Mattew was carrying one medium-sized jug. He had taken out a bit of its contents in the palm of his hand and showed it to Laras.
"This is rice seed. That's grand. Perhaps the owner of this house planted alternately in his garden." Laras' face looked elated.
"We can plant it on the land you just cleared." Said Laras again.
"Can you teach me how to plant it?" ask Mattew.
"I'm not the expert. But I think I can. Or we'll ask Liam and Kenny when they get back" Laras replied.
"Oh yes, but before you start planting this, you have to make the land wet enough first. Paddy likes wetlands." Laras suggested.
"good. Water used to bathe and clean vegetables will be splashed there. Is that enough?" ask Mattew.
"Basically paddy likes completely wet land. At least you made the land a scum. Very muddy for the beginning of planting. Must be watered." Laras Imbuh.
Let Mattew think of a way. Baras doesn't want to get dizzy. His back hurts so much. He wanted to lie in the room.
"I rest first" said Laras. He walked back into the room.
"Need help?" ask Mattew iba. He could feel that it must have hurt a lot.
Laras did not answer. He just shook his hand a sign not to be helped.
"Ahh, it hurts so much. Is my back injury bad? Got the bone in the back?" mumbled Laras while hissing in pain.
"It's lucky this mattress is so soft." The barrel sleeps sideways because his back can not be touched anything, or he will feel intense pain.
"If there's a doctor Chandra here. Why are we so separated?" his face implied a deep sadness as he recalled all of his traveling companions.
