SURVIVORS
Chaptre 79. Elven Beings

"This part of the fence has been passed by black fog. That's why the sheep are gone." Alan pointed to his findings.

Dean and Sunil approached, checking.

"We can't make a fence anymore. Every 2 weeks that black fog always penetrates the fence we make," Dean said upset.

"Yes. What a waste of time, energy and wood." Sunil was also upset.

"We go to the grassland area around the cage. How are we going to leave soon, so don't waste energy." Alan suggested.

"It's better that way." Dean agrees.

"Let's go back" he continued.

They broke through the area of tall shrubs and weeds to return to the hut in the middle of the meadow.

"You guys are back? How's the fence checking?" ask the Goddess who just returned to picking a basket of tomatoes and other vegetables.

"As usual. There's a fence area that's been passed by the black fog." Sunil answered quickly.

"Oh." The goddess understood. It's been a regular occurrence.

"It seems like the black fog is getting closer, right? Do you want to put up another fence over there?" ask the Goddess to know.

"No. That's free." Alan shook his head.

"Then?" The goddess raised her eyebrows curiously.

"You just wait," cried Alan running after Dean and Sunil who began to enter a small forest near the Lemon garden.

The goddess looked at the departure of the three then sighed. He then busied himself cleaning the harvest that morning to be used later. Afterwards it was still necessary to grind the wheat early, as Widuri and Nastiti went to the cave to inspect the preserved meat.

*

"Nastiti, you try this."

Widuri thrust a thin slice of spiced meat that they had preserved.

Nastiti opened her mouth and chewed it.

"It's very tasty. We can eat it or we can eat it again."

Nastiti eyes until closed while enjoying the chew. His face looks happy.

"Let me try that too."

Widuri sliced the spiced meat again and then inserted her own feathers.

"Waahh yes, this is really delicious. The salt is just right, just less spicy," he commented while chewing.

"Widuri, all this meat can be durable because this storage space is very cold. But would it still last if moved to Dean's storage? Does the storage room in the necklace have this cold temperature?" ask Nastiti.

"Where do I know. But if Dean says he can, yes. We don't have to mess up and mumble. If all our food is rotten, let's just roast him. Hihihiii.." Widuri laughed a little. Nastiti grinned as she lifted the thumbs sign agreeing.

"Take one tie or 2?" ask Nastiti.

"One time. Let the others try. The others are for our supplies."

Widuri examined the preserved meat by being seasoned, wrapped in cloth and tied to a rope and hung to dry in the cold room. Lots of spiced dried meat hanging on the shelves of the storage room.

All the frozen meat stocks that were in the room before, they had been processed as preparation for the trip.

The wheat threads were already clean from his skin, so it wouldn't take up too much space in Dean's storage room. Some seeds are already packed to be planted in a new place if possible.

Ripe fruits were picked and cooked into jam and put in stone tubes Dean made. They had already made one big jug of vinegar from the abundant apples in the garden.

"Before leaving, we should pick up all the lemons from the garden" suggested Nastiti.

"Yes. I also want to find apples, plums and check the corn tree in the corner, if there is an old one again" said Widuri.

"Pick all that corn. The young ones can we vegetable too, right? Instead of being lost free of charge swallowed by the black fog," Nastiti added.

"Yes already. Let's go back."

Widuri left the room followed by Nastiti. Widuri touched the wall on the left of the door. Pressing it gently then came the sound of the stone door shifting and closing the room. They walked down the cold cave.

"I want to fill up the water from the wall."

Some time ago, Dean assisted A's spirit to create a new room in the cave wall and move A's rigid body to it. On the advice of others, A agreed to make a hole in the floor as his final resting place. A took the star emblem attached to the robe and then lost it into his necklace. He covered his tomb with several pieces of stone and carved them with letters that everyone did not understand.

"I used to not believe that this water has properties and can refresh the body quickly. But now, it feels like I don't want to miss filling a drinking place if I'm here," said Widuri honestly.

"Try asking A, maybe he has an idea how to bring this water to our role later" suggested Nastiti.

"You're so smart" said Widuri.

They took turns filling the drinking grounds, then stepped out of the cave.

*

"I think it's quite this way first. Later it is too late to make a fence, lost again a sheep, then the Goddess will nag all day." Sunil smiled widely.

"All right, let's take it."

Dean lifted up all the wood they had cut just by moving his hands up. The three of them walked towards the sheep stable and were busy making a fence around the cage and a little grassland area.

"You who? Why sleep here?" The masked man with blue eyes asked. The other men are still holding their guns.

Robert and the rest of his team realized they were asleep again this morning. No. gabe. The sun has even started to rise. At least 8 o'clock if you see the tilted position of light that falls to the ground.

"Did you wake us up? We were lost for 2 days here. Thank you for waking us up." Robert spoke sincerely.

Hearing Robert's words, the masked man spoke to one of his entourage. A moment of gusts of wind gushed down the place brushed off their long white hair. The sighting left team member Robert gaped in disbelief.

"They're taper, like the elves in the movies" whispered Niken to Angel sitting next to her. Angel was nervous.

"We have to investigate you first. So please come with us to the village." The masked man decided.

"We did nothing wrong. No offense to you, why come?" Denying Robert.

"You won't be able to get out of this magic forest if you don't come with us." The masked man explained calmly. There was no evil intent.

"We'll just follow. It's possible that this magic forest is indeed making us go around in circles. If we don't wake them up, we're going to sleep, right?" doctor Chandra whispers to Robert. Robert gasped for a moment at the words of Dr. Chandra.

"alright. But let us first clean up all our luggage. And we don't want to be held without fault" Robert said firmly.

The masked man nodded then spoke to the man next to him.

After loading all the items onto the horse's back, they were ready for the road. After some people rode, they walked through the forest, while the masked man and 3 others took another path into the forest.

Out of the forest, the view of the vast grassland was spread out. Because Robert led the horse, the journey was slower. Those pointy-eared people looked riled up, but could do nothing.

"Quickly bit. We have to cross the magic line before afternoon, or we'll be stuck here." Someone shouted from the front.

"Is it far away?" ask Robert who doesn't understand.

"Yes. Look at this vast meadow. We have to get through it before we find the river and the exit." replied the man riding next to Robert.

"Aren't we out of the magic forest?" Robert asked again.

"The area of the magic forest was up to the exit. After passing through the door, it was safe. So speed up the pace." The man turned his horse checking the rear row.

"We must hurry. Before the afternoon should have been past this meadow!" robert shouted at his team members.

"How about we get on a horse. We can go faster and rest" Silvia suggested.

"There's no other way. Let's just try. But don't be too pushy." Robert finally agreed.

They paused for a moment and tidied up the items. Then each one went up on his horse. The group resumed their journey. Although it cannot be forced to run fast, but the speed of riding like this is much better than walking.

They found a small river after passing through the meadow. The horses were allowed to drink and rest for a while. Then they again rode down the riverbank until the sun was leaning west.

""Quick, and careful!" shouted the road leader in front.

They are now passing through a rock tunnel where the river water came from. The horses walked slowly and carefully stepped on the rocks in the small river.

In just about 5 minutes, the group had already exited the stone tunnel. When the leader of the road got off the horse, the others followed. Then climb the stone stairs that are suddenly on the left side of the tunnel, while guiding the horse. On both sides of the stone steps were filled with trees.

Long enough they walked along the road until they arrived at an open place and illuminated by the reddish afternoon sun. In front of them was a stunning sight.
