SURVIVORS
Chaptre 46. Breaking the Limits of Inability.

Tonight it was raining heavily, accompanied by lightning. It makes everyone finally unable to sleep because the shelter is only grounded ground and foliage follow muddy.

It is now only realized that 2 shelters are not enough to accommodate them all. The entire team was sleeping while sitting crammed. No one can sleep by the fireplace because the fireplace is also out in the rain.

Robert was concerned about the current situation. Although sheltering in shelters, but they remain wet because the shelter walls are only made of just leaves. Snowfall is very different from rain water that is really wet.

As the sunlight began to light up the sky with its golden radiance, everyone had already walked out of the wet shelter. The rain had stopped, but the atmosphere was not as pleasant as the previous morning. They look lethargic, tired and cold because they barely sleep until morning.

"I know all the lethargy and sleepiness, but we can't rest before we fix the shelter. So the main thing this morning was to fix the shelter and 3 women preparing groceries." Robert tried to understand everything.

"That's right. We need to clean up this mess first so we can get some rest, '" Dr Chandra supports Robert.

The task was immediately divided, Gilang and Michael were in charge of taking banana leaves in the banana grove that Gilang found yesterday and carrying fruits if there were any. Marianne, Laras and Angel fix the shelter. Toni, Leon, Liam the Chandra doctors and Robert repair the shelter to make it habitable. Robert suggested that the shelter be moved to a higher place and far enough from the riverbank to avoid the impact if the small river overflows due to heavy rain. They followed Robert's direction and worked diligently.

Indra, Niken and Silvia were tasked with collecting food. Indra invited the two women towards the river to check the bubu installed the day before.

The surface of the river looks slightly up and the water is a bit murky. 'May the bubu was not washed away by the rushing water' Indra's inner. Indra walked carefully on the rocks that he had previously arranged as a marker of the location of the bubu. Yesterday the top of the rock was still on the water, now it is a little below the surface of the water. The senses palpate under the water stream looking for the installed bubu.

"I found it." cried Indra while lifting the woven trap basket.

Indra tried to lift it.

"That's very hard, help lift it here," call Indra to Niken and Silvi.

The two women came down to the river cautiously. 'Wet again' inwardly both.

"Come, lift it up together." Indra gave aba-aba.

"One, two, threea" cried the three as they lifted the fish.

"Well! heheh. succeeded also in the first experiment." Niken exclaimed proudly, making his two friends smile at his side.

"Here you go, let's take this to the edge." The three of them raised the bubu and brought it to the edge together. The bruise is very heavy. Indra looked worriedly.

"Call Robert. I'm afraid it's a snake or some kind of dangerous one" Indra said.

Silvia runs to the shelter and calls Robert to come. They returned with 2 spears and one large knife that was always tucked in Robert's waist.

"Let's turn it over first so that the contents spill," Robert held the bubu to help Indra turn her on the ground.

Brakk... Bubu inverted with hard and bent position.

"For a long time, let it be opened with wood." exclaimed Robert. The three comrades moved away from it, while Robert moved as far as the reach of his spear. Then tilted bubu it so that all the contents spilled.

"Well, what animal is that?" tanya Laras noticed the small, brown-gray creature.

"Look like a beaver" Robert muttered as he poked the body of the immobile beast.

"Is it fainted or is it dead?" ask Niken. Robert nodded slowly.

"Maybe he's drifting. The river's water is rising this morning because of the rain." Laras.

"Just let him in here. They usually live in groups. Let it be found later by his own family, "Robert picked it up and moved it to a higher place.

"Because the fish this morning is quite a lot, then you should clean all the fish and then smoked to last," suggested Robert.

"All right," said Laras and Niken.

"There is still one more bubu in the waterfall pool," said Indra.

The waterfall that goes down this time is quite swift, causing the sand at the bottom of the pool to roll up and make the water turbid. Robert couldn't see the bottom of the pool. He quickly lifted the bubu that the previous afternoon was placed there. Their results are quite a lot, but can not check the bottom of the pool because the water is too turbid.

"Do we need to find shells on the beach?" ask Indra.

"If you want to collect shells, go ahead. But I have to help make the shelter complete quickly." Robert refused.

"I'll take this bubu and I'll throw it from the top where you carry the clams" Robert bargained.

Indra nodded, waiting for Robert to board and threw the basket away.

Robert taught them how to coat the shelter walls with banana leaves first before covering them with leaves, so that water does not easily break through. Gilang and Michael brought a lot of banana leaves to wear. They took him carefully so that not many leaves were torn.

Both shelters are finished. This time Robert showed how to make a shelter floor with willow twigs so that they can sleep without wetness when it rains. Robert pruned all the nearby willow twigs for use at the shelter.

During the day, the food is ready. They're starving today, because it takes work before breakfast. Everyone eats without saying much. Robert also looked exhausted to the point of not giving any instructions.

Finished breakfast Robert left the fireplace, laying himself on a boulder not far from the cliff. The others followed his steps to rest.

Marianne checks the fish on a wooden shelf wrapped in mango leaves and banana leaves. The wooden shelf was also layered with piles of leaves. Put Marianne on the coals with a small fire to be paraded enough so as not to make the leaves burn. He just wanted to steam it, not roast it.

"Marianne piled more willow leaves near the fireplace to be used as a bedding.

That afternoon they slept soundly because the air was comfortable, the sun was covered with clouds and the cool wind blew as breezy as it crumbled.

Robert got up first and checked the shelter again. It was quite adequate, but Robert did not feel satisfied at all. But now it is not easy to collect materials to make a dwelling, the rising river water makes him worried to take the willow branches that grow a lot across the river.

Robert saw Marianne falling asleep not far from the fireplace. He added wood to the embers to keep the fire burning. The fish are reversed to ripen evenly. Then Robert walked towards the river and stopped on the bank.

Robert crouched not far from the bushes. After last night's rain, the slippery soil revealed its true color when stepped on. The ground there looks like clay. Robert gouged out with a knife and took out a hint of the reddish soil and then felt its texture with both fingers.

'Yep. it's clay soil. Very good' Robert said in his heart. Then he swiftly collected enough clay and brought it near Marianne to sleep.

With the base of a rather flat stone, Robert mixed and stirred the clay with both hands until smooth and soft. Robert took some of the clay and carefully shaped it.

"What are you doing?" doctor Chandra's voice sounded from behind.

"Either.. Let's see what this land wants to be. Hehee," Robert chuckled at the abstract object he was working on. Doctor Chandra also chuckled.

Marianne who slept not far away then woke up. Look at what Robert is doing.

"We need plates, bowls and cups. Can you make it?" ask Marianne to know.

Haha.. Robert laughed loudly. "You're mocking me, aren't you?" robert asked with a laugh.

"I really wish you could make it, so we don't eat on a leaf." Marianne's serious.

"I'm not Marianne's pottery expert" Robert smiled.

"But here we must try to break the limits of our incompetence. So please try to make something simple first." Robert encouraged Marianne's interest.

"Yes, make it simple first," Chandra's doctor seemed interested. He took the clay that had been smoothed Robert then put it on the rock and began to form it.

"What is the simplest form?" Marianne seemed to be curious.

"Hmmm, plates or spoons maybe?" sahut doctor Chandra perfunctory.

"Ahh yes. Spoonfuls. Let me try making a spoon first," Marianne finally went along with the mud.
