Chaptre 35. Lena's Death
Meanwhile Indra opened the door hole and took out his colleagues one by one. Now Indra and Lena live there facing Alex who began to lose his human consciousness. Lena's voice of persuasion is no longer touched.
Outside Robert waits for everyone to come out to take shelter in another shelter before he can distract Alex.
"Aahhhhhh..! No!" Lena's shriek sounded heartbreaking making the one hearing suddenly goosebumps.
"Stop!" Indra jumped crashing with pointed spear eyes aimed right at the back of the creature that was tearing Lena's body apart. The creature growled furiously and kicked Indra to the point of bouncing away after the spear pierced his back.
Robert ran back to the shelter after hearing Lena's scream. 'That's the scream of death' inwardly. Robert became even more furious when he saw Indra being thrown away from the shelter.
"Indaura!" Robert ran back towards Indra's lying body and examined it.
"Hey, you guys, let's go out and help me finish him!" Robert's shout was very loud for everyone to hear.
The men finally came out holding their respective spears. They saw Robert putting his head on someone's body. Dr. Chandra immediately approached the two. Robert calls another man to help Chandra move Indra. Toni approached and helped carry Indra's body into the shelter.
Robert and the other men on the team walked slowly towards the already-defunct shelter. The sound of growling and chewing of the creature made the legs of some people tremble. 'Did the creature eat Lena?' thought them with horror.
Robert had his comrades surround the shelter and prepare and wait for the cue to attack. Robert gets closer to the shelter door and is flabbergasted to see Alex transform into a beast that even eats his lover greedily.
Robert hit the shelter pole with his spear. The creature growled and grinned furiously at being disturbed. The wolf's mouth was covered in blood. A piece of red meat tear between his teeth had still not been swallowed.
"You've completely turned into a beast. I can't think of you as human anymore." Robert said coldly.
"You must die! Attack him now!" Robert shouted as he leaped towards the huge creature that was staring at him with red glowing eyes.
His other friends attacked along with swinging spears towards the creature's body. A few stabs at her made her turn to face the attackers and leave Lena's body. The creature was furious and prepared to strike back.
"Be careful not to bite!" Robert reminded his friends.
They continued to attack and urge until finally the creature jumped high and managed to get out of the shelter with a body full of blood. He got a lot of puncture wounds from Robert's spear and knife. He ran towards the forest. Robert chased after the other man. They ran just by relying on the moonlight and following the voice of Robert's shout ahead. They can't even see Robert.
"Akhc! Shit!"
Robert's voice accompanied the thumping sound of something falling. The men ran closer to the origin of the sound. They saw Robert half-sitting trying to shuffle away from the creatures that were nearby. The creature watched Robert with a sharp look. He stood not far from where a streak of yellowish light and smoke came out from under the pile of wood and snow.
"Deans? Did you hear me?" Shouted Robert loudly. The others are worried. They knew that down there was the cave where Dean and Widuri were. It would be dangerous if this beast fell there, because if only Dean was, it would not necessarily be able to deal with it.
"Dean! Dean! You hear us? Get up and be careful. Alex has changed and is here. He killed Lena!" The screams of his friends were heard by Dean.
"Yes, I heard." Shouted Dean while grabbing his 2 spears and Widuri's.
"Widuri, wakeup. Hide in the darker side, don't make any noise." Dean rocked Widuri's body forcing her to wake up. Widuri led him towards a small basin in the corner of the cave.
"Hand this. If it's not me who's approaching, just hit it hard." Dean gave a sizable piece of firewood to Widuri's hand.
"Hmm.." said Widuri slowly. Dean walked up to the cave hole, waiting to see if anyone fell down. He's on standby.
Meanwhile above, the creature befriended everyone around him. Robert had already stood back up and was trying to drive him away from the cave pit. But the creature was just circling around alerting people around him, which actually made him closer to the mouth of the hole. Robert was getting worried.
Robert leaped towards the creature and fed himself to have it hit him and away from the hole.
"Robert!" everyone shouted at Robert's determined actions.
But Robert miscalculated, thinking the creature would jump straight at him away from the hole. It turned out that he had only taken a step forward to snatch Robert's body that was about to fall in front of him. But his feet were mired between the woods covering the hole. He tried to escape by moving wildly. The more he moves, his body goes deeper because the distance of the wood becomes more tenuous.
"Dean, he's mired in the hole. Get ready!" shouting people. They advanced while raising spears and piercing the body of the creature again and again. The creature thrashed and howled, but they gave him no mercy until the wounded body fell and thumped on the cave floor.
"Dee!" they shouted as they ran closer and looked into the cave.
'This thing is really strong' Dean thought. It had fallen hard on his back, but before long he immediately stood up again with his two hind legs. Dean looked at him. But as the screams above rang out, Dean realized the situation.
This creature was extremely strong, its body was injured with a lot of blood coming out, but its stance was still solid. Dean knew he wouldn't be able to deal with fighting alone. 'So there's only one way to save yourself' Dean decided.
"Hey, what kind of ugly creature are you?" Dean hits his two spears against each other until it makes a sound to attract the creature's attention.
"You're so ugly. Your fur is thick, why else are you still wearing Alex's shirt?" Dean walked sideways towards the hallway door. He wants to take the creature there. He has memorized the path. Even if it's shit, most just fall tripped.
"You're not human, you're not a wolf. You're killing Alex?" Dean continued to attract the creature until he reached the hallway door.
"Where are wolves standing on two legs like you, ugly." Dean's voice echoed from inside the passageway luring the creature following him in. The creature growled furiously but he looked extremely wary looking at the dark passageway in front of him.
"Heh.. Are you starting to get scared now? You're weak..!" Shouted Dean from the passageway while hitting the cave wall to lure him in. But he still won't come in. Finally Dean walked over and stabbed him and then back away. Dean did just that once again and managed to anger him.
"Bas coward. Fight me if you dare!" Shouted Dean while thrusting his spear even stronger once more. Dean let the spear stick on the creature's shoulder and it really made him howl furiously and jump crashing towards Dean.
Dean ran while grasping the spear in his right hand and the purple crystal stone in his left hand.
"I think as good as what creatures happen like you..!" Dean turned around when he no longer heard the footsteps of the wolf chasing behind him.
"Just run this way you're tired? Weak!" dean shouted while jumping and piercing the wolf's chest which then roared furiously. He jumped back in pursuit of Dean.
Dean arrived at the mouth of the cave that he had just traced with Widuri. He counted for a moment the creature that began to limp behind him. Blood poured out from the huge torn wound on his waist. Dean's spear that had been stuck in his shoulder had fallen somewhere.
"If you're a man, let's fight life and death with me." Dean's voice sounded cynical. He jumped to stab the stomach of the creature that was getting tired. Dean has to finish this. As Dean leaps, the creature dispels Dean's wand with its claws. Dean finally dodged and hit his head hard then jumped backwards. The sounds of roars and howls were heard again. This time the howling sounded sad.
Dean who was at the back, pushed the body of the creature towards the mouth of the cave heard piercing his back using a spear. The creature wriggled furiously, but he was unable to reach the spear. He moved wildly and finally fell rolling into the space below.
Dean looked over using a light crystal but it wasn't clear enough. All that was heard was the growling of animals and howling in pain. Dean got off by holding on to the rope. Right under that cliff the creature was curled up. Blood poured out profusely from the wounds all over his body. His head that hit the stone was still trying to be lifted up trembling. Dean's approaching.
"If Alex is still in there, I'm sorry. The presence of a creature like you is unacceptable. I'm sorry you ended up like this." Dean approached and intended to end all his suffering right now. But the creature was still able to stand up and look at Dean with a bitch. A grin with pointed canines was shown to Dean.
"Well! Not giving up until the end. Good, attack me if you still have the energy." Dean was on standby holding his spear as he retreated towards the mouth of the white-lit cave behind him.
The creature walked closer with shaky legs due to so many punctures on both legs. But his eyes seemed to be burning red with anger. Dean paused three steps from the mouth of the glowing cave. He was waiting for the attack to come.
