SURVIVORS
302 Chapter. Sulaiman from Buwan Island

"Year 2021?" repeated is unsure.

"Yes!" dean replied, still with a smile on his face.

The man looked at Dean with a complicated and incomprehensible mimicry.

"A plane fell?" ask again.

Seeing everyone nodding excitedly, the man tilted his head with his brows furrowed.

"Why did you get out of bed? Isn't it dizzy? Let me check first."

Doctor Chandra appeared from behind while nagging.

The owner turned and looked. That's the guy who fell asleep on the bench earlier. He dodged, pulling his head away as Dr. Chandra was about to palpate his forehead.

"What do you want to do?" tanyanya alert.

Doctor Chandra's hand was still hanging in the air.

"I'm gonna check you out. Did you forget it hurt? Lucky we found you lying on the floor!"

The man fell silent. But when Chandra's doctor touched his forehead, examined the pulse in his hand, watched his eyes closely, the man could no longer hold back the curiosity.

"Are you a doctor?" tanyakanya.

"Yes, I was a doctor in Jakarta, before our plane crashed. Even though I don't have any medical equipment now, I can still see and examine the sick or not" replied Dr. Chandra.

"Tournaments?" mumbling slowly.

"Why Jakarta?" ask Dr. Chandra.

"It's a far away place from here. How did you guys get here? I can't understand it. Did a plane from Jakarta crash in 2021? Where did you fall?" He looked at Dean's team with a confused expression that wasn't made up.

"Let's sit down first. We can talk casually," said Dr. Chandra.

The man nodded and sat on the floor. Doctor Chandra also sat on the floor of the house. Rough and dirty cement floor. I don't know when it was last swept and dipel.

"My name is Dean, do you live here alone? We came from the beach. Found Empang, some houses that have collapsed. But I didn't see anyone on the way." Dean told me about their journey until they reached his home.

"Ah, yes ..my name is Sulaiman. Now this place is deserted. Young people are more interested in moving to a big city than living on a small, remote island. Over time, the occupants decrease. And now I live alone here, after my wife died a year ago" he replied.

Tim Dean looked.

"What island is this?" ask Widuri.

"This is Buwan Island. In the Karimata islands" he replied.

"Carymata? Close to Kalimantan then," said Alan quickly.

"Yes!" answer Sulaiman.

"How do I contact the local government? So that we can report our return now" asked Dr. Chandra.

"Just a second!"

Sulaiman still shook his head in confusion.

"I'm still confused" he said again.

"Why?" ask Niken.

"The year 2021 is over 6 years ago. I've never heard of a missing plane for more than 10 years. If there is and I don't hear it, where have you been for the past 6 years?" tanyanya.

"Six years?" Widuri. Eyes empty. "Mrs ... Papa ... are they alive now?" His voice sounded soft.. Dean hugged him immediately.

"Relax .. We'll go home and find out about Mama and Papa, okay?" wheedled. The cry of Widuri broke. Dean hugged and rubbed his back to calm him down.

In the other corner of the room, Indra also hugged Niken who was already in tears.

The entire team was shocked to find this reality. Six years have passed. It feels like time is passing so quickly. Is there a time difference during their adventure?

"So, is it 2027?" ask Robert to make sure.

Sulaiman. He stood up and went into a room. Then come out with a wall calendar. He showed the calendar to Robert.

"It should be May now" point it to the calendar.

"shoulda?" asked Sunil in wonder.

"Did you rarely see a calendar?"

"People who live secluded lives like me, don't really need a calendar. But I still have it to know when my son's coming home. Or when the middleman came to buy the garden," he replied.

Robert looked at the calendar with a blank look. He still wished Sulaiman's words were unproven. But now, he alone held onto that date paper.

"Can we borrow a cell phone to contact the family?" ask Leon suddenly.

"Attent."

Sulaiman returned to his room. There's a device in his hand.

"What do you mean something like this?" tanyakanya.

Leon approached and checked the tools proffered to him. But he didn't recognize her. He gave it to Alan.

Alan checked for a moment, then shook his head. Others are watching. But no one understands that device.

Then Dean pulled out his dead phone running out of battery. He showed it to Sulaiman.

"In 2021, my phone is like this. But it's out of battery and the card's dead by now."

Sulaiman observed the object in Dean's hand. Worrying for a moment.

"It's light," he murmured. Then shake. "I don't know this kind of thing."

Dean and the others were stunned.

"Then how do you communicate with your son?" ask Marianne.

"Yes, how did you tell her when your wife died?" ask Indra curiously.

"Oh, communication device? I used a special tool in the room to tell him. My son said that I can only use it if I'm desperate. Expensive cost. My son is very attentive." Sulaiman smiled proudly.

"Can we see what the tools look like?" ask Dean.

"Just look!" said reminded.

"Yes, we'll just see." Doctor Chandra assured him.

Then Dean and Doctor Chandra followed Sulaiman into the room.

The room was dark and stuffy. However, there is still a bed in the corner of the room. An old closet and a wooden table. It seemed that the table had an infinite function. Whatever was put on it, filled the entire surface of the table.

Sulaiman. Open the drawer and take out a device from there. He showed his communication device with pride.

Though puzzled, Dean suggested that the device be taken out so that it could be seen clearly.

In the front room, the others waited curiously. Seeing Sulaiman coming out while carrying something accompanied by Dean and Doctor Chandra, their eyes shone with hope.

Sulaiman put his tools on the floor. Then connect some components, then show them to the guests.

"This. I preach my son with this," he showed me a smile.

Robert nodded confusedly.

"How does it work?" tanyanya wants to know.

"Cannot be turned on. It's just for emergencies. It's expensive!" Sulaiman refused to show him how.

"Aaaagghhh ...."

The team member looked down and rubbed his face. Feeling disappointed, desperate at the same time hiccups. How do they know what a device is if it's not turned on first?

"Have you ever seen a device like this?" Dean sat down and showed his dead laptop to Sulaiman.

"It can also be used to communicate. But the battery's out. Can I use your electric power for a second?" ask Dean.

Sulaiman sat down and observed the laptop on the floor. It was different from the tools his son had given him. Dean's is thinner and nicer.

Dean opened his laptop.

"Look, the screen is black. Because the battery is out. I need electricity to power it."

Sulaiman shook his head and frowned.

"Electricity to turn on the lights," pointed Alan up.

Everyone nodded and looked up. But then they were disappointed. There are no light bulbs there.

"It turns out there's no electricity here" murmured Alan in shock.

"Aishhh .. This place is really secluded. There is no electricity!" indra Gerrutu.

"That's it. Forgetit. Let's go to another bigger island. The young generation's booty went to the city" said Sunil.

Dean nodded. He kept his laptop again. Before saving the phone, Dean was still trying to turn it on. Live a minute, not more than a minute. It's dead back. Dean eventually saved both.

"A little afternoon!"

Marianne's voice broke the silence. He stood at the door and looked outside.

"Can we stay here?" ask Dr. Chandra to Sulaiman.

"Ah, we don't want to bother you. Maybe we'll rest on the vacant lot near the collapsed house just there," Robert said quickly as he looked at the worried hue on Sulaiman's face.

The others understood, then nodded.

"As the only residents here, we do have to ask you for permission. So you know we stayed there. Please visit if you're not busy" Dean said.

"Well, it's almost afternoon now. And since your health has recovered, we say goodbye. Because I still have to prepare a place to rest. Tomorrow we'll figure out how to get to the other island,"

Doctor Chandra patted Sulaiman on the shoulder and walked out of the house, following his friends who had walked down the path towards the big road.

Sulaiman was silent, standing at the door watching the new people walking out of his yard.
