SURVIVORS

SURVIVORS
205 Chapter. Starving

Kang and Robert looked at their work with satisfaction. The house looks neat and clean.

A large house with 2 bedrooms, a dining room, and an actual inner room becomes a basement floor covering. The place is laid out like a work space.

Then there's a wider terrace for where Kang and Robert are unwinding. The kitchen and bathroom are right at the back. Connect with dining room door.

From behind can be seen immediately fish ponds and livestock cages that have also been updated.

Kang was amazed at Robert's planning. Even the design of livestock cages was made in detail. Cow and sheep food places are in the outer area of the cage and are higher in position to make it easier for sheep and cows to get it.

The floor of the cage is hardened with a brick arrangement and there is a sewerage. So all the cattle are guaranteed cleanliness.

When all was done, Kang was stunned. He did not expect the old residence of his father's relics now so good.

"What do you think?" ask Robert.

Kang nodded. Kang's radiant face reflected his heart.

"It's good if you're satisfied." Robert smiled.

"But, since our windows don't have shutters, there should be blinds. Do you know how to make Kang's cloth?" ask Robert.

Kang nodded. He still smiles happily.

"good. Teach me later," said Robert.

"Please..please..."

????

One of the winged girls came to their place.

Kang and Robert could see that his body was weak, pale and haggard.

"What's wrong?" asked Robert astonished.

"Maya. please Maya." The winged girl fell down and squatted on the ground.

Kang came in the house. Then he came back with a cup. He approached the girl and offered her a cup.

"You drink that first. Sit here and tell me what's going on" Robert said.

The girl complies. Kang helped her move to sit on the porch.

"Now tell me what we can help. Who is maya?" ask Robert.

"Maya, our leader. He's. dying.... We are dying..," she said softly and sadly.

"Why? did you guys poison something?" asked Robert astonished. It would be troublesome, since there was no physician in that small world.

The girl nodded sadly.

"We're starving," he lowered his head in enduring the embarrassment.

???

Robert and Kang looked at each other.

"Kang, can you bring some food, milk and fish there? Do you remember the way there?" ask Robert.

Kang nodded, then went to the back of the house.

"I'll take you there." The girl tried to stand up, but she fell back.

"What would take you there. Just stand up you can't. You stay here and recover yourself first, just come back" Robert scolded.

The girl was silent. Kang's back.

"Kang, first, you give them milk first. Then you cook the porridge and burn the fish. You should do it. They can't do anything" said Robert.

Kang nodded, then jumped away.

"Be careful Kang. And come back soon!" shouted Robert.

"And you wait here. I'll prepare porridge for you." Robert went into the house and closed the door. The girl laid her frail body on a long wooden chair where Robert and Kang used to sit.

Robert put the porridge, vegetables and grilled fish on the table. The winged girl did not react.

"Hey, did you faint or sleep?" Robert shook the girl's hand several times.

"Mmmm...?"

The girl blinked her eyes a few times before trying to sit down.

"You're exhausted and very weak. Let's eat first. Fill your strength," said Robert.

The girl stared at the table with a pus. He grabbed the bowl of porridge and ate it quickly.

Uhuk.. uhuk....

Robert patted his back slowly.

"Eat slowly. No one will take your food" Robert scolded. Shot a drink glass.

The girl started eating again. This time slowly, so that he would not choke again. Before long all the dishes were toilet. Robert lifted all the dishes into the kitchen.

When Robert returned to the terrace, he saw the girl leaning against the wall of the house with her eyes closed.

"Lay down and rest there. Don't leave before I allow it," Robert said firmly.

Robert stepped towards the vegetable garden which was right across the vacant land in front of the terrace.

'What's with them? How could they starve?' thought surprised.

A few moments later.

Robert had finished fixing the vegetable garden that was not that much. All kinds of plants, they plant in different rows. It will facilitate the maintenance and harvesting.

Robert brought a basket of crops to the terrace. The winged girl was still sleeping soundly. Robert let it go, then went into the backyard.

"It seems to have to cut off some chickens as supplies" Robert murmured.

By noon, the girl had not yet woken up. Robert wants to let her sleep, but Kang hasn't come back. He was worried something was happening there.

"Hey, wakeup.. It's noon now, get up." said Robert, shaking the girl's shoulder.

"Mmm..??"

The girl immediately sat down when she saw Robert. He rubbed his eyes for a moment. The skin color is back. After paying close attention, Robert realized that the girl was indeed a little thin.

"I don't care if you sleep longer. But my friend hasn't come back from there. It worries me. After all after your treatment back then, I couldn't trust your group" Robert said honestly.

The girl looked down.

"I'll go there and bring him back." The girl stood up. But just walking a step, he had already fallen on the ground.

Robert helped her to get back on the long bench.

"Walking just can't, how do you want to fly? You may fall into the abyss for not being able to flap your wings."

"Sit down here and restore yourself first. Seeing this state of yours, you must be desperate to use your last energy to get here. Aye right?" urged Robert.

The girl nodded. A single tear fell from the closed eyelid.

"Now tell me honestly. How can you starve. You guys are that many, how can you go hungry? Aren't you guys gardening like us?" Robert showed me the garden across the porch.

The girl shook her head.

????

Robert did not expect to get such an answer.

"If you don't garden, then for thousands of years, how do you live?" asked Robert astonished.

"Hunting," replied the girl.

"Hahahaa. do you hunt every day? Surely there are no more hunted animals. That's why you're starving. You slacker." Robert could not help but criticize the girls' way of life.

"We're not lazy. We're hunting." The girl defended herself.

But it makes Robert's laughter harder.

"Haha.. It's worth your hunted animals running out quickly. You are so diligent in hunting. They didn't get to have kids!" robert said spicy.

The girl looked at Robert with a dislike look.

"I'm sorry to hear my words? Even though you don't like to hear it, but that's the truth. You destroyed your own food source. Understand?!" said Robert spicy.

Robert snorted at the sight of the girl blazing in anger. Then slowly fade. The girl kept quiet and lowered her head. Robert sneered. The girl finally admitted the truth of Robert's words.

"You should keep the animals more and more and be able to continue to support you" said Robert.

"If we let the animals live, then we are dead for a long time" the girl argued.

"Hey, you can hunt meat-eating animals like tigers or tigers. But grass-eating animals such as deer and rabbits are good to leave. Occasionally just catch it so they can keep growing." Robert advises.

"If you don't eat meat, what will you eat?" muttered the girl.

"You could eat the porridge and vegetables I gave you. Have you ever eaten anything like that?" Robert was really surprised.

The girl shook her head. Robert saw her not blinking.

"If you want to survive, you must learn to grow your own food. Look what we're doing. We do vegetable gardening here. Also planting buckwheat in the valley. All of these are food sources. It feels good as well as healthful." explains Robert proudly.

"We don't know how to..," said the girl.

"Oh my goodness.... Was it before you got stuck here, you guys were holy beings or princesses? Who's left to ask and then there's a waiter who prepares?" ask Robert cynically.

The girl nodded back. And that made Robert speechless. He did not think that the guess was true.

Robert sighed then sat down at the end of the other long bench.

"Can you tell me where you're from? Maybe that way we can live in neighbors without mutual suspicion" Robert persuaded.

The girl was silent. He looks doubtful. It might feel that its origin is a very secret thing.

"If you don't want to tell a story, keep it. I'm not forcing. Just a little trouble helping you. But it's fine. We're stuck here. And probably will die here too. Who cares about your secrets."

Robert leaned his back against the wall of the house. Sit back and relax looking ahead. Looking for Kang's shadow back.

But the girl next to him seemed to be thinking hard. The look of his face looks difficult to digest Robert's sentences. He is at inner war. Between the understanding that he had been convinced of, with the new understanding that was thrown by Robert.

Should they keep the secret of their origins? Or be open and friendly with two men who are both stuck here?

The girl looked at Robert with doubt in her eyes.

"I'll tell you.." said the girl softly, almost inaudibly.

Robert looked. Looking for a shadow of coercion in the eyes of the girl.
