SURVIVORS
250 Chapter. Caravan Trade 2

The five men walked down the crowded city streets. There are many types of merchandise that are sold in this city market. It seemed like this city was much bigger than the Port City. They also sell a variety of meats.

"See Dean. There's a meat restaurant there." Widuri pointed to a multi-storey building that was crowded with visitors.

"How do you know there's processed meat?" ask Alan.

"See the building next to it. Isn't that the kitchen? Look, there's a lot of meat hanging near the cook, "indicate Widuri.

"Do you want to eat meat?" ask Niken wonder. Are they not lacking in meat?

"No. In my opinion, if there is meat here, then it is likely that this area is a different island from the island in the port city.

"Yeahhhh, it's different" Dean said.

"You know what?" ask Widuri.

"Alan, do you remember when the ship went through the storm? It was like the end of a freshwater ocean area.

"Well, I remember the storm, but I don't know if it's what you mean" Alan replied.

"Well, I think it's like that. I can't prove it either" Dean said.

"So, what's the point if this is indeed a different island?" niken was confused.

"If Dean's feeling is right, it means the ship has taken us to another world. So the possibility of news about the wall of light in the city of Rawa is really another world boundary again" said Widuri.

"Hemmm. So there's a good chance we can enter another world from the Swamp town."

Dean mangosteen.

"Yeayy. hopefully the boat trip later there are no obstacles whatsoever. So we can go on an adventure and find our way home in the town of Rawa." Indra is optimistic.

As they were enjoying the atmosphere of the city, suddenly a loud shout sounded, asking the road user to pull over.

Dean hugged Widuri tightly and moved away from the road. There, there was a group of horse carriages and several other horses were speeding by.

"A unique group!" chirps Niken.

"Like the people of Arabia, though not exactly the same!" Widuri.

"What is the location of this city close to Arabia?"

Indra's question no one can answer.

"Maybe traders from there. A boat ride, or something?" Dean hesitates.

"Do you think we can follow them?" Alan said the idea in his head.

"For what? We have no information about their world. If there's any weird news, it's gonna spread fast." Deny Dean.

"You mean?" alan asked confused.

"I mean, the City Chief has never once mentioned those foreign-clothed people. So, they shouldn't be considered strange here. Maybe I trade here often." Dean explained in more detail.

"Meaning, all this time there was no magic news from their home region. So, what are we going there for?" Indra chimed in on Dean's remarks.

"Yes. yeah, I get it." Alan mangosteen.

They went back on their journey.

Leon and Jane push their wagon towards the town that morning. Jane is so excited. Leon promised to buy horses if their sustenance was good today. Jane is so happy. Their journey will be faster, if they have a horse.

At the city gate, as usual, their names were recorded by officers.

"Leon, I heard from a buyer. Whether you want to hear it or not" said the old man who used to sell next to Leon.

"What news?" ask Leon while serving the buyer.

"Don't you say it's very dangerous for a merchant caravan to go so far as to require them to spend the night in the desert?" ask Leon wonder.

"This time the caravan will be escorted by 50 mercenaries! Are you interested in coming?" ask the old man smiling.

Leon turned his head towards Jane who was wrapping the goods the customer bought.

Leon is obviously interested in leaving. But what about Jane? Should it be taken or left? Leon felt a dilemma.

"If you want to carry things, then your cart must be pulled by horses. Or you follow someone else's wagon by paying." The old man explained.

"When are they going?" ask Leon to know.

"Tomorrow in the morning" replied the old man.

Leon nodded his head and started to think hard. They have plans that might be done.

Some time later, when the buyer is quiet.

"Jane, the old man delivered the news,"

Leon then said the news he got. And that he actually wanted to see the city.

""I'm coming," said Jane. He nodded his head confidently.

"It might be dangerous. I can buy you a horse so you can bring your own cart to trade. After all, you're safer living on the beach than taking the trade caravan to a faraway place."

Leon conveyed his thoughts. But Jane shook her head strongly.

"I'm coming" he said again.

Leon breathed. Jane has decided. Isn't it easier?

"alright. Later horses bought horses to pull this wagon. Then we join them."

Leon can make a plan immediately. He opened the cover of his merchandise. There were only a few dried fish, shrimp, salt and gelatinous powder that he had indeed loaded more this time around.

Leon tidied up his wagon. Close tightly the container of salt and gelatin powder. The two items will be sold in the new city later. The rest is stock for their dinner tonight and on the way.

"You're closed?" ask the old man.

"Yes. There are no more items to sell" Leon explained.

"I'll join that trade caravan. So a little leftover to eat on the way," Leon said.

"really? So you want to come? Ahh, if only my son had come with me today. I'll ask him to go with you to see a new place."

The old man regretted the absence of his son that day.

Leon smiled seeing it.

"We'll see the horse first. Titip my cart uncle," said Leon.

"Yes. yeah, go!" the old man nodded in understanding.

Leon takes Jane to see the horse. They had indeed planned to buy a horse or mule today. They've been saving for some time. Plus the news about the trade caravan, then buying a horse becomes a must.

Leon and Jane pick a horse that fits their money. And Jane seems to have fallen in love with a beautiful white-spotted gray horse like a sprinkling of stars.

Leon asked the seller the price. They checked it together. Leon was satisfied with the horse. He paid for the horse to be complete with a rope to be attached to the cart and also a pile of hay for his provisions on the journey.

The seller agrees to help pair the horse in Leon's cart. They returned to the wall of the city, where Leon's cart was.

"You're great. Now your wife doesn't have to work hard pushing the cart anymore." Praise the old man.

Leon smile. He was happy to see Jane's radiant face and unceasingly stroking the mottled horse.

'Is this what it's like to make a wife happy?' leon termangu.
