The Essence Of The Darkness

The Essence Of The Darkness
Episode 10: The Door is Open

“Desire is the kind of thing that eats you and leaves you starving.”

I do not know how many days Elana spent her days confined in this hospital treatment room. He had already lost track of his calculations on the fifth day and forgot to continue again. It was all because inside his treatment room this was so sterile, there was no clock to indicate the time and also a calendar to indicate the date. Elana only relies on the windows in her room that are tightly locked with a thick layer of glass that displays a view of the sky that can provide information to her whether it is still morning, it is already day, it is day, late in the afternoon or even the night.

The only thing she was grateful for when she was confined inside this treatment room was that Akram Night had never come to visit her again. At first Elana was still filled with anxiety as she stared at the open door, afraid that the one entering the room was a monstrous monster that would impose its will on her. Now that the days were peaceful, Elana began to be filled with calmness as Akram Night never appeared again in front of her.

Elana once tried to look at the only glass window at the end of the room, limping along while carrying her infusion pole there, trying to figure out a way to escape. But of course what he got was disappointment. The window displayed a very high view of the sky, and the land surface he could see was far down there, shows that the room is located on the floor is quite high and there is no way he can escape by jumping from the window.

Without giving up, Elana also tried to open the door of her treatment room, but then felt annoyed when she realized the door was locked from the outside. When the doctors, nurses and janitors came in and out of his room to carry out his duties, Elana once threw a peek at the door of her room that opened and saw how big there were two guards dressed in black suits typical of the guard Akram Night was standing guard on the left and right side of the door of her room. Most likely they are the ones who lock the door of his room from the outside and restrict access in and out of this room. So, even if Elana could unlock that door, she would still have to face two strong-bodied guards with cold expressions who would certainly have high-level fighting skills when compared to Elana.

In other words, all accesses have been locked by Akram. There was no hope for him to get out of this place. And after having spent the same days in a hospital-scented closed room with the intensive care they had taken on her, Elana began to give up, losing the power to escape knowing that there is no hope for him.

But that doesn't mean he gave up completely. Later, when she gets out of this hospital, Elana is sure she can find a way to escape from Akram Night. Perhaps for now he would act obediently and let Akram Night off guard, before then letting go when the opportunity came.

And today is different than usual. Since this morning, a nurse had come to bathe Elana and asked her to change clothes. The clothes reserved for her were not hospital pajamas as usual, but rather a calf-length summer dress that widened around her waist. The dress was light yellow, with matching small, floral embroidery adorning the underside of the dress, making it look so beautiful. The size is also very fitting on Elana's body, as if the dress was specially made for her.

After Elana finished dressing, the nurse took the infusion from her hand, freeing Elana's fingers completely from the hose that had tied her to the infusion pole all along.

When Elana was left alone in her room, she sat on the edge of the bed, unable to resist the anticipation of the conjecture that she was about to walk out of this place. His eyes stared at the thick bandage that was coiling around his wrist. The wound had almost healed completely and was no longer as painful as when he first regained consciousness after his attempted suicide.

Akram Night also never came to see him again.

Elana touched her fingers to the bandage on her wrist.

For now, may he hope that Akram Night has lost interest in him and intends to let him go? That might happen, right?

For Akram Night, finding women who want to accompany and worship him voluntarily is very easy to do. Meanwhile, a man like Elana may be just a distraction from his boredom with upper-class women.

Really Elana really hoped that Akram Night would get bored of her and let go. Even so, his little heart still cried out that it was a false hope. Currently Elana is still locked up with tight guard in this treatment room, that means Akram Night still intends to master it.

Elana let out a long sigh, suddenly feeling terrified in the face of the nightmare that stretched in her future.

"Master Akram,"

Elios evoked the gaze of Akram who focused on the digital screen in front of him. They were in the exclusive Akram office space this afternoon and Akram used his free time between important business meetings by turning on a screen display showing the view in Elana's treatment room.

Yes, Akram has assigned his men to install hidden cameras in hidden corners in Elana's treatment room to watch the woman from all sides. At this moment, Akram's eyes were fixed sharply at the look of Elana on the screen sitting on the edge of the bed and looked dreamy, as if in a state of turmoil with her own mind.

Akram did deliberately not visit Elana for ten days later when Elana underwent treatment until completely healed. It was all because of Nathan's recommendation that Akram not touch his hand to Elana's body first if he wanted Elana to be completely healed and ready physically or mentally to be her lover, who will have the main task to serve him in bed. That's why for a moment Akram volunteered to curb his passion for Elana and spent his free time torturing himself by staring at Elana from the screen display from the surveillance camera in Elana's nursery.

Of course Akram also did not miss how Elana tried to find a way out of the room, the woman peered several times through the window to assess the situation outside and finally swallowed the disappointment of the room she was being treated in being far above the ground. Then, at night, when the feel of the room is already dimmed by a sleeping lamp, Akram watches Elana sneaking around while dragging her infusion pole carefully and tries to open the door which is of course locked from the outside on Akram's orders.

A stubborn woman. To be able to attract Akram's attention so deep should be a gift for him. But the woman seemed to think of it as a calamity and continued to try to escape from her grip.

The ungrateful woman.... Akram thinned his lips, placing his intertwined fingers under his chin with his jaw hardened.

"Master Akram," once again Elios said to tease Akram who was so focused on his daydream. The second time, his call managed to make Akram raise his head.

"What's wrong?" ask Akram with his usual sharp tone.

"Doctor Nathan has issued a home permit for Miss Elana and the hospital says the patient is ready. If you want to send him now to the villa on the island, then I'll send a helicopter with some bodyguards to escort the woman."

Akram stared at the luxurious watch on his wrist.

"Do I have a meeting with my colleagues after this?"

On weekdays like this, a workaholic Akram Night usually spends twenty hours of his time working and then uses the rest to rest. Even so, the man can still return to work with full stamina every day, while Elios who is in charge of following all the activities of his superiors will usually end up exhausted without energy at night.

All that makes Elios sometimes think that maybe, Akram Night is not an ordinary human but a robot.

"Your schedule is full for the appointment of a meeting with the Hexagon company at two in the afternoon" Elios read out all the appointments that Akram had to attend until later tonight quickly, in total there were five meetings that Akram had to attend today, "Then it closed with a dinner banquet at the governor's house later tonight." Elios closed later.

Akram put on a flat face listening to all the explanations Elios ran and smoothly. Appointing Elios as his assistant was the right decision for Akram. Elios is a man who comes from an orphanage, a kara and has no family. Coincidentally the foundation that houses the orphanage is owned by the Akram family and also the Akram family is the largest donor of the orphanage's funds.

Akram's first meeting with Elios was ten years ago, when Akram came to represent his family to make an annual donation at the orphanage's foundation's birthday celebration. Elios is the best graduate in his school, with the highest grades and excellent record of conduct. Once Akram learns that Elios is trying to find a job to live independently and not burden the orphanage anymore, Akram immediately offers a job at his company as he sees the incredible potential behind Elios' quiet and composed appearance.

Now, after a hard-working and unyielding career, Elios has proven himself to be the best and right-hand man and confidant of Akram.

Akram instinct is very expert in assessing the character and advantages of others, that is what became his weapon so that he managed to build a business with great success as it is now. His ability makes him able to choose accurately so that he can work with the right people and dispose of people who are not right according to his judgment. Akram is very difficult to lie and he is even able to read the plans of others against him a step faster.

Then.... does Akram judge right about Elana? Or was his entire judgment clouded by an inexplicable lust and obsession?

"Cancel all my plans for the rest of the day and the next morning" Akram quickly decided, "Then for my weekend, I don't want to be disturbed." when saying his last sentence, Akram could not hide the anticipation-filled grin that appeared on his lips.

I've never felt this way with any woman before. A strong desire to satisfy his passion without limits to throw away the whole business of work felt so easy for him.

Elana's eyes widened as she looked at the door of her nursery that one of the nurses opened for her. Her heart immediately palpitated, making Elana clench her fingers on the lap involuntarily.

She is currently sitting in a wheelchair prepared for her. As strongly as Elana insisted that she was healthy and able to walk on her own, the nurses were firm on their decision that she should use a wheelchair.

Finally, after a long debate that led to the entry of Akram's cold-looking bodyguards into the room and being intimidating, Elana had to give up and let her body be encouraged to sit on the wheelchair.

The door of the treatment room room was indeed opened, but this time it seemed like there was still no hope for Elana, because now, not only two bodyguards had come to guard her, but six at once. Two people walked in front of him, two people on the left and right side of his wheelchair, and two more people were behind him. They all closed the space of possibility for Elana to sneak in and escape.

A nurse pushes Elana's wheelchair out of the room, and they pass through a long, sterile hallway in pure white with no one human being in sight, and finally end up at the end of the room, facing the elevator waiting. Elana's wheelchair was pushed into the elevator by the nurse, followed by six stocky bodyguards in black suits that filled the entire elevator room until Elana felt out of breath because of the tightness nuances that stuck her lungs.

When the elevator door opened, Elana immediately frowned, moving her hand reflexively to cover her face as the powerful gust of wind instantly hit her face. A loud noise filled her auditory senses, making Elana raise the hand that covered her face curiously.

His eyes immediately widened when he saw a jet-black helicopter that was waiting, he said, its spinning propeller creates a loud buzzing sound combined with strong gusts of wind that ravage Elana's hair that has been neatly combed. The nurse behind him pushed Elana's wheelchair out of the elevator and only then did Elana realize that the elevator that took them was moving up instead of down. They are currently on the highest roof of the hospital which is also used as a helicopter runway. It looks like this hospital includes an elite hospital with modern technology that provides ambulances in the form of helicopters for emergency purposes for its patients.

Elana's wheelchair was pushed up to approach the helicopter, still under escort of six bodyguards, and then stopped at a safe distance. A man Elana knew as Akram Night's assistant was waiting for her near the door of the helicopter, hurrying closer to Elana who was still stunned to look at the large helicopter that was very close in front of her eyes with a look of disbelief.

"Let me help you, Miss," Elios reached out his hand in a polite manner, making Elana unwilling to accept the helping hand. He can't do anything else, can he? With the burly and fierce-looking bodyguards surrounding her, Elana was indirectly intimidated into being obedient.

Elios grasps Elana's hand carefully, then guides Elana to walk slowly closer to the helicopter and calmly helps Elana to board the helicopter and get into it.

Elana let out a long sigh when she finally managed to get inside the helicopter and sat down on the padded bench available there. But his calm did not last long when he realized that there was someone else in the limited helicopter room.

Their eyes are intersecting each other. One panicked like trapped prey, while the other looked so satisfied as well as hungry.

Akram Night was inside the helicopter room, with the savage gaze of a predator who could not wait to devour its prey.
