EOTL Eps 57: Humiliation
Sera's fear seemed to be reflected in his eyes, as Xavier immediately chuckled in laughter. The man got up from his lying position, then sat on the bed near Sera, while his hand moved to flick Sera's forehead with a loud knock that made Sera furrow her brows.
“What filthy thoughts are stirring in your stubborn brain, Serafina Moon? Throw away all your perverted thoughts about me. I'm not a masochistic man who gets pleasure by torturing girls,” chuckles Xavier, guessing right and laughing at Sera to make Sera's cheeks red with embarrassment.
“Ma-sorry.” Sera slightly lowered her head, an incredible embarrassment that she dared not challenge Xavier's eyes. Somehow this early his mind was already filled with strange things, making him embarrass himself in front of the man.
Xavier's hand moved to take the ointment box on the nightstand and open it. Inside, there was a tiny white tube. Xavier took the ointment out of his container, took Sera's hand and applied the cold cream on the surface of Sera's flushed skin.
“I have a lot of this cream because. Aplastic anemia that I suffered caused me to have thrombocytopenia or lack of blood pieces. With this condition, I tend to have bruises or rashes on the skin because my diluted blood easily seeps out of the capillary blood vessels.” Xavier spoke of his illness in a flat tone like he was talking about the weather today.
“Nah, it's done.” Xavier kept the medicinal ointment back, and when he looked up and looked back at Sera, his forehead creased.
“Why do you put on such a facial expression? I'm sick, but I don't want to be pitied.”
Sera shook her head. “I don't pity you. Me...” Sera's voice stopped because she was confused to describe her feelings. Xavier's way of expressing his symptoms of pain with a stern attitude somehow touched Sera's deepest feelings and made her heart space filled with feelings that could not be described.
Xavier put on a smile, as if he understood that an innocent Sera was unable to make a sound. His hand patted Sera's arm gently before then speaking.
“I think we should get ready soon,” he said later, somehow his expression turned grim and serious.
Sera frowned. “Is.... are we going to see my father like you said yesterday?” tanyanya.
Xavier shook his head. His eyes were staring at Sera sharply, as if wanting to read Sera's reaction to the point that it was as detailed as possible.
“No. Ii'm sorry. I think we should rewind the schedule to meet your father. Because there's something you have to do first.” Xavier's dark expression inexplicably created a bad premonition that instantly burst into Sera's mind.
“Doing, what?” tanyanya.
“Meeting Aaron.” Xavier immediately moved his hand motionlessly towards Sera, asking the woman not to refute or protest against her before she finished her sentence. “Listen to me first. At the moment, Aaron is under Dimitri's handling. He did receive the antidote serum, but he had no idea that it was coming from me. All he knew was that it was Dimitrilah who helped him. Today, immigration issued a deportation decree for him so he must return to Russia ahead of schedule. He will be home today at three noon, and does not know if he can enter this country again or not in the near future.”
Xavier spoke slowly with a clear articulation in each of his words, as if to ensure that Sera could digest his words perfectly. “Aaron was the one who made the request to Dimitri, he wanted to be helped to get the chance to meet you before he left for Russia.” Xavier stopped his sentence, then stared at the stunned Sera and was filled with shock at Xavier's words.
Because Sera did not say the word, Xavier finally continued his words.
“In my opinion, you should take the opportunity to meet Aaron, Sera and release your burden.”

“I won't follow you in there so you get space and privacy to chat.”
Xavier said they were in a special hallway that connects the airport parking lot with the VVIP lounge he had chosen as a meeting place between Sera and Aaron.
“But, the VVIP room was heavily guarded with CCTV cameras installed. If something happens unexpectedly, all my men will be on standby to take action,”.
Sera could only nod her head. On the way to this airport, he was more silent, preoccupied with his own thoughts and trying to neutralize the pounding on his chest.
Is this a happy beat? Or another type of debt?
Sera could not express her own feelings. He did not know if he was happy or sad when he got the chance to meet Aaron who was going back home. Maybe this is just a surprise that is controlling him. Because, he did not expect to get a chance to meet with Aaron.
They walked down the silent passage to the end. There was a large door that was tightly shut, and Dimitri and several guards standing guard, seemed to be waiting.
Dimitri grinned as he stared at Sera and Xavier alternately. The man nodded towards Xavier and greeted him reluctantly due to obligation, then focused his gaze towards Sera and widened his grin.
“Aaron is waiting for you in there. Remember, he didn't know that you could come here freely with Xavier's permission. What Aaron knows is that I helped you sneak out of Xavier's surveillance so you could steal time to meet him in a limited amount of time. Do you understand?” sama later.
Sera nodded her head in response. Yes, of course he understands. Xavier has explained about the arrangement repeatedly to Sera and made sure that Sera is not mistaken.
Xavier says he needs Dimitri to be Aaron's confidant, and Aaron must never know that Dimitri is working with Xavier. I don't know what reason Xavier did that, but Sera decides to trust Xavier's goodwill saying it will set Aaron and his father free, so that he will follow the scenario taught him well.
Xavier has also convinced Sera that he does not hold any grudges or plans to take revenge on Aaron because the man has stabbed him with a knife and put his life at risk. Importantly for now, Aaron will soon step foot into his freedom, return to Russia and may soon take care of the Dawn family's legacy as it was destined for him.
“Enter. I'll wait for you in the car.” Xavier touched Sera's arm slightly, ripped Sera from her daydream, made Sera nod her head, whispered a soft thank you note, then followed Dimitri's footsteps who opened the door for her and allowed her to enter the room.

Aaron looks very handsome. The man wore a light brown turtle neck and the same shades of pants with darker shades. Her hair was neatly combed, while her body looked firm and healthy, looking fresh so that it relieved Sera's heart.
“Hai.” Sera stepped closer towards Aaron who was standing in the middle of the room while putting his hand into his pants pocket. The man was also putting on a smile to welcome him so inevitably Sera returned her smile.
“I'm glad you managed to steal some time to see me. You know, I should be gone in a while.” Aaron widened his smile. His eyes skimmed the entirety of Sera's self stopping a step right before him, just an arm's length away. “You look healthy and fine,”.
Sera smiled gently. “You too.” Sera scanned Aaron's face and his forehead wrinkled when she saw the wound and bruise that had dried up and left a thin trace on the man's face. “But.you are injured, added Sera doubtfully.
Aaron chuckles. “It's just a regular wound. I've been cured.” Aaron was still staring at Sera. “How about you? What was your life like as Lady Light? Looks like you're well taken care of, huh?”
The eyes of Aaron who was aware immediately found that Sera wore expensive items belonging to famous brands from head to toe, even his shoes seemed to be a special order that was exorbitant.
Right now, Serafina Moon's appearance looked a lot different to the familiar Sera. Sera in the Dawn family is just a woman who acts like a slave, dirty, unkempt and always wears shabby clothes with a level of confidence that is almost zero. But, this Sera who stood before him was like everyone else. The woman looked extraordinarily beautiful and elegant, making Aaron frown and wonder, what magic was used by Xavier Light to make Sera who was once like a perennial flower bud, it can bloom perfectly like this.
“A-I don't want to talk about it.” Sera whispered slowly, deciding that her marriage to Xavier Light was something she was not comfortable talking about right now. “I came to say goodbye to you. Y-you know, I always pray for your happiness. You will be successful in the future. I'm sure you'll bring the Dawn family business to success and greater heights in the future.”
A sinister streak of sinister glint appeared in Aaron's eyes, only a flash until Sera didn't notice it. Aaron suddenly opened his arms, then looked at Sera with a meaningful look.
“Good. I also wish you all the best.” Aaron raised his eyebrows when he saw Sera not understanding his cue. “Can I ask for a goodbye hug? Just a hug between friends,” the door is soft.
Sera looked doubtful. But eventually she thought that there was no harm in hugging Aaron. The man was his savior angel, his best friend and his focus in the past when he felt hopeless and had no hope of life. Aaron was a figure who hugged him and strengthened him as he lay weakly, filled with lash marks on his back. It was Aaron who fed him and gave him a drink while he was serving the sentence left to starve that drained all his energy so that he could not move the body.
Without a word, Sera stepped into Aaron's arms and let the man stretch his arms around his body and drown Sera into his chest.
Sera closed haru's eyes. His inner voice whispered goodbye to his first love. His heart hummed with a letting go song. Sera was ready to let go, knowing for sure that it was likely that their interlocking paths would stop here and would not cross again.
But suddenly, he felt Aaron slightly bent and brought his lips closer to Sera's ears. The man's breathing was hot, blowing on the side of Sera's hair that covered his ears, before then whispering in a cruel and harsh tone.
“Basic jal*ng pel*shameless cur. I will never forgive you for betraying me. You're a lowly woman who sells your body for cheap, I'm so disgusted by you.”

Xavier's expression stiffened as his eyes watching the CCTV cameras discovered how the supposed sweet farewell had suddenly turned one hundred and eighty degrees.
Sera's body attitude that had entered Aaron's embrace voluntarily suddenly changed with the body stiffened as if pierced by an invisible sword. The woman even bounces, pushing down on Aaron's chest, which had hugged him and rebelled from the man's arms.
Sera's body leaped a few steps, retreating away from Aaron, while Sera's face looked deathly pale, filled with a shaken expression that smeared her pajamas of that face.
Alarms immediately ringing in Xavier's head. He immediately realized that what happened was not in accordance with what was expected.
Xavier quickly turned on the intercom, contacted Dimitri and shouted a quick command in an urgent tone to the man.
“Keep Aaron from there!” it snapped loudly as soon as the call was connected.
Xavier did not wait for Dimitri's reply the man immediately ordered his men to prepare his wheelchair, then rushed to the area where Sera met Aaron.

Aaron's eyes stared intently at Sera, with an expression of disdain that was not covered up, piercing Sera to the bottom of the heart.
“A-what do you mean, Aaron?” Sera's voice was trembling. His ears heard clearly, his eyes caught on precisely, but his heart was still unwilling to accept it.
The Aaron he knew was not an evil man who stood haughty while gazing vengefully at him like this. The Aaron he knew was a good man, his savior angel who had always been blameless in Sera's eyes.
“No need to pretend to be stupid, Serafina Moon. Or, I should now call you Serafina Moon Light? Even your name can blend in disgusting, indicating that dirty creatures are destined to unite with equally dirty ones.” Aaron spoke without feeling, dropping Sera to the bottom, driven by the desire to trample Sera until it was smashed without rest. “I know that you sold your body to Xavier Light, became a pel*cur in his bed and threw away your pride. You even betrayed me without feeling, forgetting all the services I have done for you,” Aaron returned to connect his words, his tone still remains the same, full of contempt with the aim to hurt.
“A-I didn't betray you. Y-you misunderstood..” Sera said with trembling lips. His heart ached unspeakably, his tears spread in the fertilizer, the heat burned so that his self-defense collapsed, making him lose his voice, swallowed by sobs, unable to speak.
“No need to quibble. I should have realized that cheapness was flowing in your blood and could not be changed. There's no point in me being nice and helping you in the past. If only I had known that you would turn into such a despicable person, I would have been unwilling to help you in the past. I'd better let you die with an infectious wound on your back, or lose your life from starvation. I think it's more suitable for you.” Aaron squinted, his lips venomous, preparing to throw poison. “Child of a pel*cur, will definitely be pel*cur as well.”
“K-you... What do you mean? Why did you say that?” The humiliation that Aaron clearly threw at his mother, made Sera gain the strength to speak out again.
Unfortunately, his voice was swallowed by Aaron's cynical laughter which seemed to be partying on top of Sera's pain.
“You don't know huh? Your mother used to be a self-serving woman who offered her body cheaply to men on the streets. His life was already low as low as possible, whether it was how many men who touched him, maybe tens, it could even reach hundreds. I can't imagine how dirty and damaged your mother's body is. Luckily, your tasteful father found your mother and pulled her out of the mud puddle. But, given how cheap your mother is, are you sure that you are your father's biological child? You could have been the son of those perverted boys who became your mother's customers.”
The sound of a loud slap blared in the room. Sera's hand swung violently, slapping Aaron with all her might. Sera's breath gasped heavily, while her eyes were tearful, reflecting the heart's unspeakable pain of being humiliated with inhumanity.
“You can insult me.. but never... never insult my mother!” Sera shouted loudly, her heart mixed. Disappointed, angry, sad and wanting to die, all of them became one, making his chest claustrophobic by the real pain.
But, before Aaron could open his mouth, suddenly the door of the room opened, and Dimitri entered the room, staring at Aaron and Sera alternating with flat expressions.
“I think you've had enough good-bye.” Dimitri threw a warning-filled look at Aaron.
He did hear that Aaron was going to give Sera a little revenge, and he allowed it to happen thinking he would see a fun little show to annoy Xavier who he disliked. But, what he did not suspect, was that Aaron would use a path like this to take revenge on Sera.
A sly and cheap way. A cowardly way to bring down others by insulting the origin and the blood that flows in the body of an innocent child.
“Come, Aaron. Your plane is waiting. We're leaving here.” Dimitri knew that he had to get Aaron out of here before Xavier came up with all his terrible wrath. He gets the job of sending Aaron free-flying back to Russia, and that's what he's going to do.
Aaron apparently also realized that danger had approached him. If he doesn't get out of here soon, chances are he'll never get out of here.
“Goodbye, Chick j*lang. I hope, when we meet again later, I can step on you harder than now.”
Not wasting any more time, Aaron took the time to speak his hatred to Sera, before then the man rushed away, following Dimitri's quick steps towards the waiting plane, leaving Sera alone with a hurt heart.

Sera's body collapsed, falling to the floor. While his cries were swerving uncontrollably, exploding from his chest, drenching his face.
His shoulders were shaken strongly, filled with pain that seemed to burst through his veins, smashing him down to the smallest part, hurting him until he was no longer able to hold it.
Then the door of the room opened. For a moment it only sounded silent greeting. Shortly thereafter, a soft sound of the buzzing of the approaching Xavier electric wheelchair engine was heard.
The man stopped his wheelchair right in front of Sera who was crying on the floor. His eyes stared at the nanar towards the tiny body that sobbed uncontrollably, engulfed in destruction over the heart-shaking humiliation.
Xavier then leaned over, squeezing Sera's shoulders gently to direct the woman's attention to him.
“Serafina Moon,” whispered softly, putting on an empathetic expression that comforted the heart as Sera finally looked up and looked at her face.
The woman seemed to be ripped apart by a pain that was almost horrified. His face was wet, his eyes displaying a teary poignant look, while his nose was red, implying a wide wound that grimaced his soul.
Xavier let out a long sigh, his hand squeezing back Sera's shoulder gently.
“Get into my lap. Let's go home, honey.”
Xavier's whisper was like a rescue hook that pulled Sera from the flood of pain that drowned her. Sera grabbed the hook, depending on him desperately. His body also moved by itself, according to rising towards the lap of Xavier who was waiting.
Her petite self seemed to be completely unfavourable to the man, instead feeling fitting as it curled up in Xavier's chest and continued its silent poignant sobbing.
Xavier hugged Sera with one hand, giving her a kiss on the top of her hair. While his other hand moved to push the knob of his wheelchair and aimed it out of the room, passing through the large door that had been opened wide by his men, he said, then take them both away from the place full of memories of the curse.
