“You turned out to have been waiting for us.”
Xavier spoke while straddling in the middle of the room. There were empty seats available for him, but he refused to sit down. In a very dirty house like this, who knows what bacteria or viruses are attached to the objects contained in it? Xavier should never get sick from those viruses and rotten bacteria. In addition to the current dangerous situation that requires her to stay healthy, Xavier also has two young daughters who are still vulnerable to her immune system. She didn't want to be able to hug her child because she was exposed to a virus or bacteria that might infect her children.
“I know that no matter how far I hide, you will definitely find me. That's why I chose to approach you and offer you a compromise. I also keep information that will definitely be very useful to you.” Dr. Rasputin spoke slowly.
The man looked thin and dirty, much different from the look in his picture as a doctor in the past. From photos and identity information about doctor Rasputin read by Xaver, Dr. Rasputin is clearly very handsome in the past, even when aging, his good looks are still real on his face. The man used to be very famous, adorning the Russian media as the best doctor who is very genius where his magical hand is able to change the face and body of a person perfectly, and the, give the best results of plastic surgery they want without fail. The reputation of doctor Rasputin was so great that it spread all over the world until people came in line to be touched by his magical hand. It was a great loss for plastic and aesthetic surgery when Frederick's doctor decided to retire from the medical practice and disappeared and went into seclusion to enjoy his retirement.
What a foolish thing to turn his handsome face into the figure of a thin, pale and dirty old man like this just for the sake of disguise.
Xavier grinned cynically.
“You don't have anything interesting as your surplus value. Your position is trapped and your life is under the control of my hand. Why should I bother accepting a compromise offer from you if I have the upper hand?”
Doctor Rasputin was silent for a moment, the man then nodded his head, as if agreeing with Xavier's words.
“Indeed, your position is already on the wind. I have no power to fight. You can even kill me this second too if you want.” Doctor Rasputin looked at Xavier with his powerful intelligent expression. “However, you haven't killed me yet. That means, there are still things you need from me even a little, right?”
“If you mean I want to find out about Aaron Dawn's disguise, then that's not what I need to do. Her disguise as Oberon's doctor has been revealed.” Xavier replied in a cold tone. “The fact that I haven't killed you until this second, it's all I'm doing because I'm curious about what you're doing here. You seem to be feeding yourself to find. What exactly do you want? Are you trying to trap me into falling into your trap?”
Doctor Rasputin stretched his thin hands to the left and right of his body.
“No traps whatsoever. Your men must have checked that I didn't have any weapons, bombs, or traps for you. I am ready to welcome my death. It's just that, before the time of my death, I want to offer you a compromise. A compromise to help you as redemption for myself because I regret my previous actions.”
Xavier's eyes observed the facial expressions of Dr. Rasputin. The man's words seemed to be spoken with a slightly floating tone, as if the man was in the midst of a medicinal influence. Xavier frowned deeply, looking at doctor Rasputin with a look of disdain.
“You used drugs? Is that why you fell into a garbage valley like this?” he said with a real denouncing tone.
Xavier's reproach did not hurt Rasputin's doctor. The man even laughed out loud, with his hands still outstretched as if showing that he resigned to his fate.
“Yes. I was a successful doctor in the past. I have a lot of money from my genius ability to remodel the faces of others with greatness.” Dr. Rasputin seemed to be starting to fumble and tell stories here and there. “Then I was tempted by the amount of money I earned from illegal proceeds, operating criminals and runaways who wanted to change their identities, he said, pulling profits from criminals who have abundant money and enriching myself. Aaron was one of them, he had his own goals and I received a lot of money from him. So, I operated on his face with my very great skill and even provided many high quality face masks to help his next disguise.”
“You provide face mask for him?” Xavier's voice was heard rising, filled with anger. “You've pretty much intervened in Aaron's crime, Old Man. I'll get you a decent pay!” he shouted with a furious tone.
Xavier is ready. He had equipment to interrogate that was cruel enough that it could make people open their mouths. In his head, he had already made a plan. Rasputin's doctor will confess, identify and describe what kind of faces he has made as a mask for Aaron's disguise. Only after he had obtained enough information would this old man be killed according to the crimes he had committed.
Doctor Rasputin seemed to understand the killing instinct that was in Xavier's eyes, however, there was no fear in his eyes at all. The man laughed again, grinning as if to welcome his death happily.
“You don't need to threaten me Xavier Light, because without you threatening me, I will help you.” Calmly, Doctor Rasputin shoved a neatly arranged pile of paper on his desk, on top of that pile of paper, there was a small microchip wrapped in a black metal box to protect it from damage. “In this microchip, all the facial data, identity, and images of the mask image I created for Aaron are stored. You can use it to track down Aaron easily, once you know the identity of the masks I made.” Dr. Rasputin narrowed his eyes. “Not only that, I also offered myself to help you lure Aaron and get the man for you to catch.”
Xavier signals Derek and Derek swiftly moves forward to retrieve the file and microchip. Derek checked the file quickly, then put the tiny microchip into a small box-shaped digital reader like the phone he was carrying. Derek only glimpsed the contents, read the information he thought was important, after which the man turned his head back to Xavier and nodded his head.
“The idea is in accordance with what doctor Rasputin said,” he said later.
Xavier returned the nod, then turned his head back towards Dr. Rasputin and stared in alarm.
“You were helping Aaron, weren't you? Why did you suddenly change your mind and help me? Are you so desperate to save your life that you think that if you side with me, I will spare your life?” ask her with a cynical tone.
Doctor Rasputin immediately shook his head. A smile full of irony appeared on his lips instantly.
“I really need forgiveness. But not for my life. When it comes to my life, I don't care anymore, because soon I will die.”
“You're going to die?” Xavier couldn't help but repeat doctor Rasputin's words. This man had been talking in circles since then, probably because he was under the influence of drugs. However, it provoked Xavier's impatience to the limit. He wanted to immediately gain enlightenment and bright spots, so that he could immediately decide on his actions and leave this foul-smelling slum.
“Yes. I used narcotics to relieve the pain that was afflicting me because ordinary drugs were no longer able to help me. The pain was gone, but it did not cure the root of my illness, it damaged my body from the inside and made me bathy. I was obviously speeding up my own death. But now I don't care anymore. Before the moment of my death, I want to get forgiveness and atone for my sin.”
Doctor Rasputin stared fixedly at Xavier. “When I had abundant wealth, I was struck by the fact that abundant treasure could not help me to recover from my illness. My disease is incurable, growing slowly in my body and damaging me silently. My only hope for recovery is when I get help from my descendants who share my genetic makeup. Unfortunately, even if he's alive, I don't know where to find him. In desperation to survive, I conducted a massive search in secret, deploying all my treasures, all my abilities and all my efforts. Actually, that's why I retired from my regular job and chose to dwell in the underground world. In the underground world, we can get any information we want easily, as long as there is money and connections we have. That's why I specialize as a plastic surgeon who specializes in serving the underworld to collect treasures and get a network of connections.”
Doctor Rasputin stopped his sentence. His voice was slightly breathless as if speaking with sentences throughout it was a tough job for his lungs. The man then coughed and covered his mouth with the white tissue on the table. When Rasputin's doctor removed the tissue from his mouth, patches of blood stains appeared there, noticeable and contrasting with the whiteness of the tissue.
Xavier immediately stared with a look of disdain mixed in vigilance.
“Are you suffering from an infectious disease that you deliberately want to transmit to us?” he nodded with a threatening tone.
Doctor Rasputin immediately chuckled and shook his head at the question.
“Do not worry, this is not a kind of TB disease or disease with other infectious viruses. This pain I've been suffering from is not contagious, it can only be passed down genetically. My illness makes it easy for me to bleed, even by the slightest trigger.” Doctor Rasputin's eyes suddenly stared intently at Xavier back, his expression turning very serious.
“Connected my story earlier, I finally found the information I needed. But it was too late, and I realized the big mistake I had made. So, here I am now, trying to make amends and help you to fix everything.”
“What do you mean?” Xavier asked with a watchful tone. He could read someone's expression, and after reading Rasputin's expression, he somehow got a bad feeling, as if Rasputin's doctor was going to say something he didn't want to hear.
Doctor Rasputin coughed again, his thin body shaking miserably because of it. His face paled as his mouth sprayed a lot of blood there. The man looked even more exhausted as if he was about to lose his consciousness in an instant, but it seemed that Dr. Rasputin was stubborn enough that he was still struggling to keep throwing sentence after sentence out of his mouth which was now blood-soaked red flowing from his lips.
“However, fate seems to be laughing at me. The offspring that I made the focus to save me, apparently suffered from the same disease as me. Only, he was luckier because he had children who donated stem cells to save his life. But, I then realized that I was indeed worthy of being laughed at by fate and willingly welcomed my death calmly, I had sinned in the past and this sickness seemed to be the ultimate punishment for me.”
Doctor Rasputin stared fixedly at Xavier. “I won't apologize for you being wasted and growing up. You were not supposed to be born into this world, your mother who****** was supposed to abort you so you shouldn't be born and live in suffering. I will also not apologize for bringing this destructive genetic disease down to your body, as I said, if only your mother had followed me to abort you, you would not have brought that damned disease to your body.” The man continued to speak his mind in a heartless streak. “Only, I regret having made it difficult for you by helping the person who is your enemy. That's why, before I die, I want to make amends for helping your enemies before. To make up for my mistake that I want to help you fight Aaron to make amends.”
Doctor Rasputin looked at Xavier's paled face hearing his sentence.
“Yes, Xavier, I am your father. I am your real father.” Doctor Rasputin uttered his final sentence with a quivering voice. His eyes looked at Xavier frozen stiff, motionless or reacting with his confession.
Doctor Rasputin's breathing panted as the man braced himself to stand up. His staggered body stepped closer to Xavier and his hands stretched out as if wanting to touch the man.
“You... can do blood work and genetic trace tracking if you... don't believe.” Doctor Rasputin spoke in a bloodied voice. “I did overhaul my entire outer appearance, but the blood flowing in my body remained the same without any modification at all. You... will discover the truth of my words..my son.. I am.. your father...
Doctor Rasputin drew closer, his hands reaching out as if he were about to touch Xavier, but in the second that he was only a short distance away he could touch the boy he was looking for, Xavier stepped back, moving away as if not touched by the man in front of him.
Doctor Rasputin's body was instantly transfixed by the refusal, but the man then laughed softly.
“Well, maybe you really don't want to admit your father like this. It's okay, no problem, no problem.... I will still help you before I die, because after all, the blood ties can't be broken just like that, right?”
By the time Rasputin's doctor finished saying his sentence, blood vomited straight out of his mouth. This time the number was so large that some splashed Xavier's clothes, indicating that the man was already at the most severe level of his illness.
Then, as if he had no more strength to support himself, Doctor Rasputin's body staggered forward, and then fell to a thud at Xavier's feet that were still riveted and frozen, frozen, staring at the figure that was stretched stiff at his feet with a pushy look.

The sound of the door of his room slamming makes Sera immediately awake from her deep sleep. It was early in the morning and Sera herself felt she had slept well for hours.
Slowly Sera's eyes opened vigilantly, but then she recognized the footsteps. Her position that had originally turned her back to the door moved to look over and greet her husband who had just entered the treatment room where she lay asleep.
“Xavier?” Sera greeted as the man seemed to choose to stand rigidly on the edge of the bed after entering the room. However, Xavier's hand suddenly moved and held Sera's shoulder so as not to turn to face him.
“Sshh, no need to turn around. I'll catch up with you to bed.” Xavier's voice somehow sounded raucous and strange, as if the man bore a heavy weight on his shoulders.
Sera frowned at Xavier's unusual tone of voice. Bad premonitions and questions filled her heart, but she decided not to urge her husband and to obey Xavier's words to lie on her side and turn her back.
The bed was noticeably moved when Xavier placed his knees on top of the bed. Without waiting for long, the man then climbed onto the bed and lay behind Sera, tightly docked until her sturdy chest touched Sera's back. The fragrant aroma of the fresh soap and shampoo and Xavier immediately greeted Sera's sense of smell, making her mind wonder.
Why is Xavier bathing in the early morning so cold? What was? Where did that man end up?
Xavier's hand then moves tucked under Sera's body and another one tucked under Sera's arm, then it fused tightly at the front of Sera's body to pull the woman back and docked more and more into her body.
Sera felt Xavier bow his head and the man drowned his face in the curve between his neck and shoulders, leaving her confused.
The man's breathing sounded heavy as if something had blocked his throat and blocked the air passage that entered his lungs
“Xavier? What's up?” sera whispered full of worry.
Xavier's never been like this before. Is that guy sick? Is his health declining?
Sera wanted to turn her body to look at her husband, but Xavier's embrace was so hard on her body, leaving her unable to move and fixated in the trap of her husband's embrace that it felt tighter.
Xavier's breathing sounded hot in Sera's ears. The man exhaled again many times as if trying to control himself.
“Only you guys...” Xavier's voice sounded hoarse and suffocated. “Only you are my family. You and the twins..just you guys..” The man forced on continuing his sentence and when his voice touched the last word, his tone instantly broke apart, marred by a shocking restrained sobbing.
“Only you are my family... I. don't need anything else.”.
After saying that sentence, Xavier's defense collapsed already. The man cried sobbing, spilling his taste while drowning his face in the neck of his confused wife and hugging her tightly.
