EOTL eps 43: Questions

Sabina had already inspected all the areas silently with full experience. He then discovers that the room where Aaron was locked up is guarded by only one person.

Apparently, there was an incident involving a helicopter above that sucked the entire guard into the upper area and let them all off guard and left the prisoners below.

There were two options, Sabina brought sleeping gas with her. He could put up a special mask and spread the sleeping gas all over the area to anesthetize the entire guard and he could get out of this place peacefully. There might be one or two guards unaffected by the sleeping gas, but that was not a problem for Sabina. Because if it was only one or two people, Sabina was confident that she could still fight to cripple them.

Of course, no method is perfect. By spreading the sleeping gas, it means Aaron will also be incapacitated. Sabina only brought one special mask with her, as the size of the mask would make her unable to move freely if she only brought one. If Aaron is paralyzed and drugged, it means that he must exert all his strength to drag and bring Aaron's weakened body out of this place.

There is a camouflage car rented by Sabina and parked at the very end of the giant warehouse complex, they can escape using the vehicle that has been prepared. But, dragging Aaron's body that is quite heavy there, definitely requires a struggle that drains his stamina.

Without a second thought, the woman immediately moved, lashed out and charged towards one poor guard who just happened to be unlucky to be standing guard there, he used a strong rope that became one of his flagship weapons and instantly snared the neck of the unprepared guard from behind abruptly, not giving the man a chance to be surprised let alone fight.

It only took a while for the guard to thrash around trying to resist, but the strong ties of the rope around his neck that cut off his breathing path were extremely strong, browning the air into his lungs and making his chest seem to explode in intense flames. Before long, the guard was incapacitated, suffocated with bulging eyes, then his body fell on the floor instantly.

Sabina directly pushed the door behind the guard, feeling lucky that it was unlocked. Soon he opened it wide, then jumped inside.

His eyes immediately found the figure of Aron who was lying on his stomach and his forehead immediately furrowed deeply.

Aaron looked helpless in battered condition like he was beaten. Meanwhile, fresh blood seemed to drench the floor in large quantities that could make any human forehead crinkle in horror because of it.

It was as if, there had been a massacre of humans inside here before….

For a while, Sabina thought that most likely, she would have to use the sleeping gas if Aaron was not in a ready condition to follow in his escape.

But Sabina decided to bet. He approached, then knelt down and shook Aaron's hollow shoulder.

“Hey, can you wake up?” call Sabina in a loud voice, trying to tease Aaron from his unconsciousness.

It turned out that luck was still on Sabina's side. Aaron groaned from his mouth that was bruised with blood from being beaten. But at least, the man's eyes opened and managed to regain his consciousness.

It took a while for Aaron to recognize and realize Sabina's complete presence, and it made him so shocked that he immediately jumped from his prone position before then sitting on the floor with his mouth open wide.

“Sabina?” aaron exclaimed in surprise, filled with disbelief.

Sabina thinned her lips, realizing that the more time they wasted here to talk, the greater the risk of getting caught.

“Speaking later. You're battered, but it looks like you can still get up.” Sabina got up and ruffled her waist, her lips smiling in satisfaction as Aaron nodded his head, then with determination, despite the excruciating pain all over her body, Aaron managed to get up and stand up.

“Good. Force yourself. Follow me.”

Sabina swiftly turned her back towards the door, leading the way for Aaron to come out and escape Xavier's captivity.

Sera's steps seemed to drift and her mind glared as she got into the car that drove straight away from Xavier's house to go to the hospital.

The car was traveling fast, penetrating the crowds of the road and slightly swerving when maneuvering to pass through traffic jams at some point of the journey. However, Sera herself did not even notice the scene outside her window.

His mind was still ringing with the words of Elana earlier.

Xavier is injured and critical…

Xavier who was in Sera's memory was a strong and tough man. The man exuded a terrifying aura that made anyone afraid to get close. Because of this, Sera never thought that Xavier would be harmed, especially until he was seriously injured or fell in critical condition.

The man said that he had many enemies who wanted to eliminate him. Was it one of the enemies that hurt him? Wh who? How-to?

Questions raged in Sera's mind, and somehow her heart was racing as she imagined the possibility of Xavier being unhelpful from the wounds she had sustained.

If so... What about him?

Sera's hand involuntarily moved to touch her stomach involuntarily.

What if Xavier had successfully planted his seed into his body?

Sera did not expect that she would be at the point where she was confused when Xavier was wretched. His main goal was to kill and eliminate Xavier from this world….

“What?”

Akram's voice boomed, filled with anger as the man received word from Elios who came to face him after receiving the crucial news.

By this time, Akram had already arrived at the hospital where Xavier was. As soon as he gets the news that Xavier is injured, Akram immediately rushed to the hospital to see Xavier's condition. Earlier, Elana had wanted to come to the hospital as well, but, his wife was restrained by Zac who continued to cry with a body a little fever due to teething. The situation made Elana unable to leave Zac because their child was constantly attached to her mother and asked for milk in an unwell condition as it is today.

Because of this, Akram finally came to the hospital without taking Elana with him while promising Elana that he would immediately give news once he got information from Doctor Nathan about Xavier's condition.

Doctor Nathan brings new hope to them. The man explained that although Xavier's condition with aplastic anemia made him bleed more severely than the average person, the medical team managed to provide the best treatment to maintain Xavier's life. Nathan also said after getting a blood transfusion, Xavier's condition has stabilized for now.

Now, after receiving the heart-relieving news, Akram gets unpleasant news about Aaron, Xavier's piercer who should be responsible for his actions.

“Sabina, Dimitri's highly skilled men come and run away Aaron. I am currently coordinating the team to track their whereabouts. Unfortunately, the woman is very tough and cunning, and experienced in running away in conflict areas, which is why she is very good at covering her tracks and making us difficult.” Elios explains it quickly and efficiently, providing the information Akram needs.

“Do you think it was on Dimitri's instructions? Why did he dare to oppose Xavier, didn't Xavier poison him so much that he didn't struggle and didn't dare to do anything?” Akram asked his question quickly.

Elios nodded his head slightly. “I've arranged a communication with Dimitri Kazak's side, but he says that he has nothing to do with this. Dimitri said his men who escaped Aaron was a defector who acted not on Dimitri's behalf and was out of the man's responsibility.”

Akram's lips thinned cynically. “Dasas coward,” hisses growled.

His eyes sharpened as his brain thought and made plans before Akram again issued a firm command to Elios.

“Do a massive inspection. Spread out our most expert trackers. That woman, Dimitri's men, even if she has a great reputation, but she is not currently familiar with the country and that could be her weakness. I want in twenty-four hours, we can find the woman's hideout and also Aaron.”*

The passenger cabin door of the car suddenly opened, making Sera gasp in surprise.

Because it was so dissolved in his own mind, Sera did not realize that the car had stopped long ago in the hospital lobby.

“Mari Mistress, I'll take you to the top.” One of Xavier's bodyguards bowed politely to Sera and let her get out of the car.

Inevitably, Sera stepped down from the car and followed the steps of the bodyguard who led her up the elevator to get to the top floor of this large hospital building.

There was hardly anyone else who passed by them along the long passageway, there were only a few nurses who nodded formally towards Sera and no other patients there. It made Sera sure that one floor of this room, it was only intended for one VVIP patient only.

They then stepped onto a large door guarded by several black-clothed bodyguards in front of him. As soon as he saw Sera, one of the bodyguards opened the door for him.

“Please, Mistress.” The bodyguard who escorted Sera politely let Sera enter the room, while the bodyguard itself did not enter the room.

Sera gulped, feeling a bit of fear as if she was taken into a sinister unknown area, but unabated she stepped inside as well. The bodyguard instantly closed the door behind him, as if closing the path of Sera to turn around and escape.

Everyone in the room immediately raised their heads when they realized Sera's presence. There is a figure of Doctor Nathan who several times dealt with Sera during his hospitalization. There are also the figures of Akram Night and Elios, his loyal assistants. Sera turned her gaze around and felt awkward when she did not find Elana in this room. Even now, all eyes seemed to be looking at him sharply, let alone the figure of Akram Night. The man put on a grim expression and gave a piercing look to Sera as if Sera was a criminal that had to be eliminated.

Without looking at him hostilely, Akram Night was already so scary with all the reputation he brought, especially now. Sera felt her hair standing up, like a warning alarm that resonated real inside her head, making her want to run in a scared daze with her tail clamped between her legs.

Previously, Sera thought that if there was Elana, there were at least women here, so he's not alone like a rat trapped among dangerously monstrous predators who are all glaring at him.

“Please sit down, Sera we are discussing about Xavier's condition. Maybe you want to join.” Friendly, Doctor Nathan broke the awkward atmosphere and immediately gestured for Sera to sit on the sofa next to him.

Sera heaved a sigh of relief when Akram Night then turned his sharp gaze away from Sera. He walked a little awkwardly, then sat down on the sofa beside Nathan and lowered his head, clenched his fingers nervously, deciding to just shut up and listen.

“So all we can do now is wait?” Akram seemed to ignore Sera's presence and refocused his attention to Doctor Nathan who looked back at the results of his examination report.

“I did almost the same procedure as when Xavier was injured by Maya. It's just a long time ago, Xavier was injured in the hospital so it could be dealt with immediately. For this time, he had to wait for helicopter help and survive with blood drained to reach the hospital and get treatment. So, Xavier's condition is worse than the previous one.” Doctor Nathan let out a long breath. “I've had a blood transfusion to minimize organ damage. Xavier's wounds also need special treatment because of the lack of platelets he suffered, making the bleeding continue to open, not close and not experience blood clots.” Nathan took a long breath. “Now, everything depends on Xavier's intention to survive. All we can do is wait.”

Sera listened carefully to what Nathan said, and her mind churned. He was about to remain silent and listen, but at this moment, he could not help but ask.

“Xavier... injured because of what? Who did? How can?”

The three questions that had resonated in his head just popped out of his lips, making the three pairs of eyes of the man in the room immediately plunge towards him.

“Your lover, who was under Xavier's supervision, attacked and pierced Xavier's chest with a knife.”

Akram's deep and calm voice suddenly cleared out, emitting a terrifying scent that instantly filled the air around them.

Sera herself, immediately crawled with fear when listening to Akram's words. Akram and Xavier are foster brothers. Maybe because there is no blood relation, the two are very opposite to each other. Xavier always spoke calmly as if without any burden, although the man carried a characteristic sinister aura, but his speaking nature was always relaxed, like a cunning villain who caught his enemy off guard with his flowery demeanor, then it suddenly struck at its most fatal point without warning. While Akram.

Fear is what makes the sentence Akram late digested by Sera's brain. He frowned, protesting quickly after successfully reviewing what Akram had said before.

“My love? B-but I don't have...”.

“Aaron Dawn.” Akram interrupted coldly. “Your love, right? Or at least he is your love that claps one hand?” sindir Akram cynics.

Sera. “Aaron Dawn is not my lover, she is more like..”.

Sera's voice came to a halt as Akram raised his hand, signaling Sera not to continue.

Akram Night's eyes were so sharp when he looked at Sera with a silenced look.

“Serafina Moon's. I don't care who Aaron Dawn is to you. Actually, I don't care about you either. From the very beginning, I was opposed when Xavier chose to include you in his life and make you the solution to save his life. I already knew that you would only bring trouble for her. You know, if the decision depended on me, I would prefer to eliminate all sources of trouble as soon as possible.” Akram narrowed his eyes and looked at Sera with a menacing look. Then, suddenly Akram's eyes were fixed on Sera's stomach before then back to Sera's eyes again. “But, for now, I will tolerate you, because it is likely that you are carrying Xavier's child which will certainly be useful to save his life. Only that is the value of your life in my eyes.”

Akram blatantly judged Sera with great contempt. The man did not even give Sera a chance to refute, and immediately stood up from where she was sitting.

“About Aaron Dawn. I am the one now who will hunt him,” he added in a determined tone, then turned to look at Doctor Nathan. “I want to be informed about the development of Xavier's condition to the smallest,” his orders firmly before then stepping away from the room while followed by the faithful Elios, without turning his head again.

As soon as Akram left the room, Sera immediately raised her head, asking Dr. Nathan about what Akram said that most disturbed her intelligent mind.

“Doctor Nathan…. Akram Night said that he's going after Aaron. But isn't Aaron in Xavier's custody? Why should Akram hunt him?” Sera flocked Doctor Nathan as soon as he had the chance, not wanting to lose the chance to get an answer.

Doctor Nathan's eyes dimmed when he heard that Sera's first question to him turned out not to be about Xavier's condition, but instead asked Aaron.

Suddenly there was pity in Doctor Nathan's mind for Xavier.

Xavier Light was bestowed with extraordinary luck with his perfect physical appearance. However, it seems that the man was unlucky when it came to women. Just look at Sera, even when Xavier gives more attention to her, marries her, gives her seed to bind her, still can't melt her heart to get her attention back.

“Urusan Aaron is not in my realm.” Doctor Nathan hinted at a refusal to answer towards Sera. “Didn't you ask your husband's health?” he continued quickly, asking with a piercing tone that made Sera stunned in embarrassment.
