“Why are you walking?”

Xavier lifted his sunglasses and opened the window of his slow-moving car through a large road that became the main street in the luxury residential complex. Her beautiful eyes were fixed on Anastasia who looked painstakingly walking on the sidewalk of the road in her high heels.

The woman looked messy and upset, but when she turned her head towards the figure that greeted her, her eyes widened with shock mixed with admiration.

Yes, it was not only Akram who grew into a charming figure within the Night family. Xavier Night also grew up with a physical beauty and face that could make the angels rivaled. The man now even added the good looks of his face with a sweet smile to make anyone who faced him instantly melt because of it.

“I...” Anastasia blushed, put on her most beautiful smile. “Our car had an obstacle at home, and since not just any vehicle could enter the complex, I chose to walk to the front gate where the taxi I ordered was waiting,” he replied slowly with a voice made very soft.

Their housing is heavily guarded. Only licensed and pre-registered vehicles may enter. So, because Anastasia ordered a taxi suddenly, the taxi could only wait at the gate of the complex and could not enter any further.

Xavier himself laughed inwardly at Anastasia who seemed unaware that the damage to the cars in Anastasia's house occurred due to her intervention.Yes, Xavier is unlikely to approach Anastasia at home. Approaching this woman by chance, even though it was her manipulation, was the best way to start her plan.

“Walking in the hot sun is not suitable for women as beautiful as you. Come on in, I'll take you,” Xavier said in a friendly tone.

When Anastasia looked doubtful, Xavier chuckled slowly and coaxed back.

“Come on, aren't you good friends with Akram and our familiar family? You don't have to feel sorry for me.”

Xavier's soft voice coupled with his handsome face was apparently a powerful weapon to melt the hearts of any woman, Anastasia was no exception. Even though she had an incredible Akram in her grasp, still, Xavier's charm was too tempting to resist.

She happily got into Xavier's car and let him drive her wherever he wanted.

Success once again seemed to be Xavier's destiny. In accordance with his plan, the accidental meeting he planned became a way for him to seize the heart of Anastasia and prove that the woman was just an unfaithful bitch.

It only takes a few times to go out having fun for a date behind Akram's back, and only with a few romantic expensive gifts, do you know, Anastasia finally gave up on Xavier's seduction and gave her a completely impure soul and body, no matter what status Anastasia had at that time was Akram's lover.

Ruthlessly, Anastasia is having an affair behind Akram who is so loyal and infatuated with her. Although his face paled slightly from cursing Akram's stupidity so deeply lapsed into the false charm of the bitch in front of him, Xavier tried to control himself and put a grin on his lips.

“And you, are you going to marry her even if you don't love her?” the question was slow, filled with curiosity.

Anastasia chuckled, her eyes turning seducing as her arm stroked Xavier's arm lying next to her.

“If I may choose, I will definitely choose you. You're amazingly handsome and you're so good at making love…. But unfortunately, I can't possibly marry you. My family really wanted me to marry Akram Night. He's the heir to the Night Corporation, while you're just an adopted son.”

Anastasia looked at Xavier with a teasing wink, “Not that I mocked you, I was just revealing reality, dear. In fact, actually I got tired of dating Akram Night which was so innocent and didn't know how to please women, he was nervous even when we were just kissing so he couldn't kiss properly,” Anastasia breathes her voice sensually. “Unlike you. You... amazing,”

Xavier thinned his lips, enduring the disgust within his soul.

For Akram's sake he's willing to fuck this bitch. And now, Anastasia even vilified Akram behind her?

“Then I assumed that you would marry Akram, soon. If that's the case, do you intend to be a loyal wife and cut ties with me?” slowly tanyanya.

Once again Anastasia laughed amusedly, as if Xavier's question was so funny to accept.

“I have absolutely no intention of being a faithful wife. It's all because of you, Xavier. If I marry Akram and become Lady Night later, it means that I will stay in the magnificent house of the Night family, where you live too,” Anastasia's voice is low full of seduction. “I imagine how much fun it would be if we could sneak on secret nights to make love. You don't mind either, do you?”

Xavier was silent. But that night, the disgust, disgust, and anger he had been holding so high that it made his blood boil uncontrollably.

Until he exploded, Xavier was finally unable to control his logic anymore. He ends up contacting the criminals in the black world he has secretly immersed in, looking for those who are willing to ally with him for money, and paying them to destroy Anastasia to the brink.

The decision taken by Xavier wreaked havoc on a streak that rocked their families.

The criminals he hired kidnapped Anastasia, they not only seized her and beat her up, they even harassed her until when the police found her body the next day, the woman fell into a coma and unconscious.

I was the hardest hit by that event. And it didn't take long for Akram to lay down his charges against Xavier as the mastermind of the horrific incident that befell his first lover and love.

Xavier did not argue, and it made Akram rise in blood to vanish all the hatred and distress he had been harboring all this time. Akram charged towards Xavier who did not resist, beat and beat him with all his might without Xavier's refusal, and might have killed Xavier had Baron and Marlene not held him back.

All the violent hateful swearing was thrown from Akram's lips for Xavier when Baron refused to let him go and separated the two brothers who were on their backs due to the misunderstanding. Akram even cursed Xavier to die and get out of his life.

Then it was as if it had not been bad enough, the next morning, when Anastasia gained her consciousness and recalled all the bad things that were ruining her body and reputation, the woman had dark eyes and decided to hang herself in the hospital treatment room, losing her life without having to say her last word to anyone.

Anastasia's death really brought Akram down. The man was mentally crushed to the point of losing hope. That was what made the Baron finally decide that he would not stay silent anymore.

Had enough. There must be someone to stop Xavier before the man goes mad and slaughters all the living creatures that are near Akram.

“I don't want to do this. But this time, you've gone too far for Xavier. I had no other choice,” with a stern attitude but not hiding any regrets in his eyes, Baron thrust the stamped file on the table and shifted it towards Xavier.

Xavier lowered his head, took the file and read it at a glance. With his great ability, he was able to immediately memorize every detail in the complicated agreement letter.

There was a legacy arrangement of Baron Night in large and fair numbers. And the main point of the letter of the agreement, is the agreement that Xavier was removed from the Night family and in the future is not entitled to bear the name Night again behind his name. There is also a clause that Xavier must no longer approach Akram Night and if he violates he will face the authorities.

“I give you a big house and assets. I also gave you a laboratory building with very complete advanced equipment because I know you are very interested in that field. You just need to sign this deal. I dare to guarantee that you are not harmed here,” Baron uttered in a persuasive tone when he saw Xavier just looking at the file before him without making a sound.

Xavier raised his head, looking at the Baron with a sad expression.

“In essence, you're bribing me to leave this family, aren't you?” ask her with a poignant tone.

Baron stunned. The middle-aged man let out a long sigh, then looked at Xavier with a gaze full of agony.

“You know why I made this decision, Xavier. I have sinned against you in the past, but I have made up for it by taking good care of and raising you until now you can be independent. I even supply you with more than enough to support your independence. All I ask is for you to free Akram,” Baron's eyes narrowed in alarm, his firm attitude as a successful leader made him able to control himself well and not drift in sentimental feelings towards Xavier. “Of course if you refuse to cooperate, I will use another harder line. But, you know that I don't want to do it. If indeed you must leave this family, I would rather see you leave in a good way.”

Xavier put on a smile, the perfect smile mask to cover his wounds.

“Alright,” Xavier replied in a light tone even though his heart was slashed.

There is no point in fighting. He will always be misunderstood and unwanted in this family, right?

Xavier's eyes instantly caught the relief in Baron's eyes when he heard his words. It re-christened the wound on his soul, bleeding his heart, wounded by his family's rejection of his presence.

Slowly, Xavier's hand moved to grab the pen that had been prepared on the table, then withholding the trembling in his hand, he signed the dossier. Afterwards he thrust the file back towards the Baron, and looked at his foster father with a wound-filled gaze.

“Have you loved me like your son, father?” ask her with a vibrating tone.

Baron stunned. His gaze that had been focused on the file that Xavier had signed immediately lifted, and his eyes immediately met Xavier's eyes which implied extreme pain.

Her lips were open, but in the end, what came out of it was honesty.

“I once loved you as my own son. But... When you turned cruel and horrible, I felt I did not recognize you as Xavier my son anymore.”.

“I see,” Xavier interrupted, stopping Baron's sentence before he got hurt again. Quickly, he lifted his body to get up from the chair he was sitting in.

“Goodbye dad.. ah I don't think I can call you dad anymore. Goodbye, Mr. Night, I won't say see you again because I know that you'd rather not see me again.” Xavier slightly bowed respectfully, then muttered an excuse sentence before turning his body towards the exit.

“Xavier.”

His father's voice was heard calling as Xavier's hand was about to turn the knob of his father's office door, making Xavier stop his steps and turn to his father expectantly.

Is... is there any chance that her father changed his mind…?

That hope was in his soul. But Xavier immediately pressed him.

“Your last name, I forgot to discuss it. Since you can't use the name Night as your surname, you should immediately determine your new last name. Call my lawyer if you've found the name you want. My lawyer will help you to change all official documents related to you and change your last name with your new name there.”

The sharp pain this time not only tore Xavier's heart, but to increase stabbing him until his pain almost made Xavier lose balance.

“Don't worry, Mr. Night. I will soon find a new name,” he said perih while stepping away.

While exiting his father's study, Xavier comes face to face with Marlene, who seems to have been waiting there for a long time.

Her petite mother looked pitiful, with a pale face full of tears, as if her husband's decision to banish Xavier from the Night family had completely destroyed her.

The two eyes that hold the pain look at each other. Until then, Marlene opened both of her arms towards Xavier as wet tears flooded her cheeks.

Xavier's defense collapsed already. The man slid into his mother's arms. Forgetting that he was no longer a child and had already grown into a grown man. Even now, it was no longer Marlene who embraced her fragile body, but it was Xavier who drowned her tiny mother's body into her arms.

Both of Marlene's arms were coiled around Xavier's back, and at that point, Xavier's body shook violently before he finally shed his cry.

“I didn't mean to hurt Akram..” Xavier said in between his sobs that mingled with a raucous voice. “Anastasia betrayed Akram behind her back, she even intends to continue cheating on Akram when they get married later.. I just want to give Anastasia a lesson, I did not expect that it would be this way..”.

“Sshh...” Marlene hissed loving gestures for Xavier to stop talking, her hands gently rubbed Xavier's back, trying to calm her son down. “Mother understands. I am always prejudiced against you, no need to explain anything to mother,” whispered Marlene in a trembling voice full of tears.

The mother and child vented each other in pain, crying with a soft blend of grief. Until finally, Marlene kept a little of her body away from Xavier's embrace, then used both of her hands to cupped Xavier's cheeks, facing Xavier's lowered face to look at her.Marlene smiled even though her cheeks were filled with tears, looking at Xavier with the affection of a real mother.

“Look at yourself growing up. I even have to look up to look at you,” whispered Marlene full of haru. “You're free to go wherever you want, Xavier. But you have to remember that even though on paper your rights were snatched away without you being able to fight back, no matter what happens I will always be your mother and you will always be my son,” Marlene said sincerely. “People always misunderstand you. But for me, you will always be the light in my life. So, don't fall because of this incident. Hang on and be strong because mom will always pray for you.”

Marlene's voice trembled with waves of crying that came back, and Xavier immediately hugged his mother once more to calm her down. A sweet farewell embrace because even though their bodies are separated, the affection between them remains one.

Xavier then dyed his mother's forehead fondly, putting on his smile despite his face full of tears.

“I will always be the light in mother's life. I promise,” Oghed Xavier said a promise. Then after strengthening his heart, Xavier let go of his mother and turned away, stepping away from the Night family home which was no longer his home.

His mother wanted him to always be the light that illuminated his heart, and Xavier was determined to do so.

At that moment, Xavier instantly knew, what name could be pinned as his new last name.

Light means light.

The name has a pronunciation rhythm that is almost similar to his old name and has a meaning like a prayer that his mother pinned to him.

Yes, changing the name from Xavier Night to Xavier Light, it was not too bad for him.

Who knew that his name would become a prayer for him so that he could find the light in his dark life?
