Doctor Nathan glanced at the Oberon doctor who was standing in the middle of the room. The man was stretching out his hands, while the two bodyguards in charge checked his entire side to find if there were any weapons hidden in his body. One other bodyguard was aiming at Oberon's doctor, preparing to fire swiftly if Oberon's doctor made a sudden dangerous move.
But Oberon's doctor seemed calm and followed all the instructions given by the bodyguards until they decided everything was safe, then sighed Oberon's body to sit on the couch, waiting for the next process to be done.
Nathan takes his eyes off Oberon's doctor, prepares a syringe and sterilizes it. The syringe will be used to take a blood sample of Oberon's doctor.
After all was ready, Nathan moved closer to Oberon's doctor. The man looked calm and motionless, as if waiting desperately for what Nathan was going to do to him.
Well, maybe the Oberon doctor can't do anything with the three bodyguards that stand guard on his left and right, also behind him.
Nathan came closer to the sofa. The man then lifted a small part of the sleeve of the short-sleeved shirt worn by Doctor Oberon, applying a special liquid with a cotton swab there to prepare for the blood draw. Unable to hold back his curiosity, Nathan lifted his head and stared intently at Doctor Oberon.
“Nothing you want to say?” ask her slowly with a probing tone. “Do you not want to defend yourself before me?”
Doctor Oberon looks to thin his lips.
“Even if I defend myself, there is no point,” said in a stifled voice.
Nathan raised an eyebrow, staring at Doctor Oberon with a mocking look after he came to his conclusion.
“So, you really are Aaron posing as doctor Oberon?” tanyanya.
As the figure of Oberon's doctor was mute before him, Nathan spoke again, this time with stifled anger.
“I don't think you've made it this far, Aaron. You also killed the real Oberon doctor. Did you know that you face the death penalty for first-degree premeditated murder for your conduct?”
Silence stretched between them as Nathan spoke while thrusting his syringe into Oberon's arm. A deep red color immediately colored the syringe, filling it with a sufficient number of blood samples to be examined.
“I know.”
Doctor Oberon suddenly spoke, making Nathan who was pulling the syringe that had been full of the tube stopped his movement that was about to keep the needle into place. Nathan raised his head, staring in confusion.
“What do you mean?” nathan asked later when Oberon's doctor put on an unexpected mysterious expression.
Doctor Oberon gritted his teeth. His eyes then glittered full of determination.
“I know that I will be sentenced to death for murder. However, I don't mind killing again and again to achieve my point. And I guess.. You could be my next victim, Doctor Nathan.” Speaking, Oberon suddenly took something out of his pocket, and his hand reached for Nathan, who was unprepared and defenseless.
On the bodyguard was moving swiftly, but they were late because at the second they were about to storm, Aaron was already standing by carrying Nathan in his grip. The man wrapped his hand around Nathan's neck from behind while his hand held a syringe ready to be injected into Nathan's neck.
“Don't move, or I'll inject this liquid into Doctor Nathan's body! “ Aaron spoke in a reckless tone like a madman. “I give a dose many times more than it should. If I inject this liquid into your body, then you'll die of an overdose, Nathan,” he said then at Nathan's doctor with a threatening voice that was not playful.

“Aaron was involved in a revenge plan regarding Anastasia? But why?” Sera asked confusedly.
He finds absolutely no connection between Roman Dawn's revenge plan and Aaron's.
Isn't Aaron both suffering and fate with him?
Because Roman Dawn lost Anastasia as his heir, the evil man then picked up Aaron who was one of his nephews who could not afford to take him to Russia and educated him hard to become his heir.
Although Aaron's potential heir was clearly treated better than Sera's, the man still suffered, separated from his family, he was forced to undergo rigorous education for hours and could only rest at night or at mealtimes. Aaron never had time to relax. The only time to relax was when the man sneaked in the meal hours to meet Sera who was serving the sentence and split half the portion of her meal for Sera.
“I know you might have a hard time accepting it. But I have real evidence. You know I have a very good investigator and very good at gathering information and supporting evidence without error, right?”
“You... send someone to investigate Aaron?” Sera gulped, her heart beating with fear of something she could not guess. “What.... did you find?”
“I did not investigate Aaron specifically, I gathered information about Roman Dawn and incidentally, there is information about Aaron in it because they are closely related.” Xavier approached Sera and gave a kiss on her forehead. “Sera, Aaron Dawn is Anastasia's lover.”
Xavier looked at Sera's expression of shock and mistrust when he heard the information from her. The man nodded his head in convincing. “Yes, I know they're brothers. You could say they were cousins. But that didn't stop them from having that forbidden relationship. Aaron knew Anastasia since childhood, they always played together and grew up together, until then their relationship was established to a higher level, to a physical relationship that should not be done.”
“You mean... they have sex?” Sera paled, surprised beyond measure.
Xavier nodded.
“That forbidden relationship made Anastasia pregnant.” Xavier continued to tell. “They both most likely panicked. However, even if Aaron takes responsibility, Roman Dawn will not allow him to marry Anastasia. They are brothers and close blood relatives, in addition, Roman Dawn hopes that her beautiful daughter can increase her wealth and family class by marrying a rich man from a rich family as well. Aaron, who comes from an incapacitated family, is still a teenager and a sibling, clearly does not meet that criteria. That's why, Anastasia and Aaron finally make a plan..
“What?” Sera exclaimed in a suffocating voice. He had absolutely no idea that Aaron was in touch with an entire past that involved them in this complex way.
“Yes, Aaron encouraged Anastasia to trap Akram. Anastasia plans to seduce Akram into bed with her, then make Akram confess and take responsibility for the illegitimate child in her womb.” Xavier looked at Sera deeply. “All of those plans came to a standstill when I, who wanted to prevent Akram from ending up with Anastasia, made a plan involving your father to warn Anastasia and scare her into retreating and not approaching Akram again. You certainly know how the end of this story, how all this ended with a bad result that changed the whole course of our lives.”
Xavier let out a long breath again to calm down. Every time he talked about this, his chest always felt tight. He was filled with contradictions that made it seem as though it was hard to breathe, wracked by opposing consciousnesses.
If he hadn't committed the crime of getting rid of Anastasia, maybe Sera could have survived the bad luck of her life that left her with injuries and suffering for years, but if that's the case, if that's the case, then most likely the fate of Xavier and Sera could not possibly end together like now, right?
Does that mean he should be grateful for the crimes he has committed in his past?
“After the incident, Roman Dawn got information about Aaron and Anastasia's relationship. He is furious and decides to take Aaron and put him in his surname to hold Aaron responsible and Aaron agrees. He holds the same grudge against me, as well as against your father whom he held responsible for the death of Anastasia.” Xavier looked at Sera carefully. “Informanku said that Aaron at the time really loved Anastasia. As for Anastasia herself, Aaron is her first man, which is why Aaron has his own place in her heart. My informant found the letters Aaron wrote to Anastasia. It clearly stated their entire plan. They both plan to continue the romance affair even after Anastasia married Akram later.”
Xavier stopped speaking, gave a pause in his explanatory sentence, then after pondering the man spoke again.
“Informanku still has those letters. You can read it if you want to feel more confident.”
“No.” Sera immediately replied firmly. His face was deathly pale, but his expression looked strong. “I believe you, Xavier. You're not gonna lie to me. Anyway... I don't want to read those letters.” Sera would not be able to withstand the feeling of betrayal that exploded into his soul if he read the letters. Not because Aaron became Anastasia's lover, but because in the letter, revealed the motivation why Aaron did good to her and helped her all this time.
It turned out..the man just wanted to take revenge on him?
“So, Aaron teamed up with Roman Dawn?” Sera asked later when Xavier did not speak, his gaze seemed to be glazed, but he held himself back as hard as he could.
“They both agreed to make you a tool of revenge on me. They thought that once at two o'clock their enemies would die at once. Since they both lost power and could not attack me directly, then they planned to use cowardly means by smuggling you near me to poison me with small doses that would eventually kill me.” Xavier stared at Sera sharply. “That was your initial plan, wasn't it? That's your goal when you infiltrate and apply to be my assistant, isn't it?”
Sera's cheeks flushed red, filled with shame. Yep. Xavier is right. Roman Dawn even provided a special education for Sera, then put her in a bona fide company with her connections to provide a background of interesting and convincing achievements in the curriculum vitae of her job application to Xavier. Sera did enter the company with the help of Roman Dawn, but it was his intelligent brain and quick learning ability that helped him achieve the best achievements as a competent secretary and assistant and have first-class qualifications in his field.
“Ya. I infiltrated as your assistant, earned your trust, then..poisoned you secretly until you died.” Sera took a long breath. “At that time, I held grudges and traumas to you, I thought of you as an evil monster who Sera swallowed his saliva. “I don't want to talk about it anymore, Xavier.”
Talking about the past where Sera still misunderstood Xavier and nurtured hatred towards the man, made her heart ache. Sera knew that Xavier would feel the same pain, which is why he would not bring the talk to the surface.
“I understand, Sera. We don't have to talk about it. I just want to make it clear that all those plans, made with the foul wits of Roman Dawn and also with the approval of Aaron.”
“But..Aaron looked passive when Roman Dawn decided that it was time to send me to you. She... looked very sad and sorry, she seemed to disagree...”.
“That's part of his skit. Did you know that Roman Dawn and Aaron Dawn are trying to brainwash you? They take on the roles of the evil and the good, to make you easily controlled by them. Roman Dawn acts as the evil one who oppresses and torments you, while Aaron plays the good one who saves you, becomes a place where you lean and take refuge and becomes the only person you can trust.” Xavier's eyes flashed sharply. “In the end, they can control you from two opposing sides. Roman Dawn controls you with threats and exploits your fear of him, while Aaron controls you with the debt of gratitude and loyalty of friends who will continue to pay you. Both have the same goal: making you unable to betray them.”
Tears immediately rolled in the corner of Sera's eyes that had been glazed over since. All this knowledge made him extremely shocked. However, on top of that, there was a feeling of betrayal that felt a great pain stabbing and scratching his heart that had been thinking well. When Xavier confirmed everything with his sentence, that was when Sera could not help but shed her tears.
“So... all the good Aaron did to me... all that.... just a skit?” Sera's lips began to tremble as she spoke. His chest was congested, filled with bitterness that began to overflow and urge him out.
Xavier reached out and rubbed Sera's tears gently.
“I don't want to tell you because I don't want you to get hurt like this. But, yes, Sera. I have to be honest with you. Aaron Dawn is playing you. He never was kind to you. He even worked with Roman Dawn to set a timetable for when you were whipped so he could send you medicine, as well as when you were locked up with the punishment of starvation so that he could slip food for you and act as your savior angel.” Xavier hesitated, his sentence halting as if he was weighing whether to reveal one more thing to Sera or not.
Xavier's attitude made Sera suspicious, she wiped her tears, then tried to speak even though sobs still whack her vocal cords.
“Is....there anything else that.... should you tell me?” ask slowly, preparing the heart to hear the worst.
Again Xavier plunged his finger into Sera's fragile and petite finger. The man squeezed the link of their fingers gently, then brought his body closer to Sera's body as if he wanted to drain the strength from her as much as possible to support Sera.
“I got a record of payment transactions and a recording of instructions from the prisoners who were in a cell with your father. They were all the people who attacked your father and injured his head, falling into a coma. They were paid by Roman Dawn to do so to threaten you against trying to fight or escape Roman Dawn.” Xavier looked at Sera with a fixed gaze. “But from the transaction records and all the talk recordings that were there, it was Aaron who initiated the beating and assault attempt on your father in prison. He also made payment transactions against the attackers, paying them with his own money.”
Xavier's voice echoed inside the hospital room, sounding slowly but firmly, and instantly made Sera like she was struck by lightning. Sera's mouth opened with shock that hit her chest and made her heart seem to be squeezed hard, and she froze there unable to do anything because the information was too shocking for her.
At that moment, the door of the treatment room opened and Derek appeared there in a deathly pale condition.
“Mr Xavier!” Derek was about to say a word, but when he looked at Sera's face on the bed, the man hesitated and his voice was held back for a moment.
Xavier was still pinning his fingers with Sera. The man looked at his wife and decided that from now on, there would be no more secrets between himself and Sera, not even the worst news, Sera should know with nothing to hide from her.
“What's up?” Xavier asked calmly, gesturing to Derek. “Tell me,” the next.
After obtaining permission, Derek did not hesitate anymore.
“Mr Xavier. Aaron is currently on an escape attempt.he makes an unexpected move when Nathan's doctor is about to draw his blood. Our troops can't do anything because Aaron..
