Doctor Nathan looked at the car that passed away while frowning. He does know that Oberon's doctor is an introverted human who has completely shut himself down since the accident that destroyed his career as a surgeon, but he doesn't expect that as time goes on, the man closed himself off and rejected the friendly attitude of his colleagues openly.

Nathan shrugged his shoulders and opened the car door before stepping in and sitting behind the wheel.

Well, not that he cares and meddles in other people's affairs, but as closed as Doctor Oberon is, that man is still one of the doctors who has an important position in this hospital. It was not that Oberon's doctor wasn't very good at doing his job as finance director, that man always gave the best and most satisfying results, only in Nathan's eyes, Oberon's doctor seemed increasingly difficult and elusive.

Maybe he couldn't understand because he didn't experience what Doctor Oberon did. Perhaps if he lost his career and couldn't do what he wanted to do in an accident, he would become a bitter human being just as secretive as doctor Oberon.

Uh. But he should not trouble himself by thinking about the affairs of others. Doctor Oberon is an adult man who he believes is wise enough to determine his own life direction.

Nathan was about to turn on the steering wheel when the vibration of his phone caught his attention. He pulled out his phone and frowned when he saw Xavier's name on his phone screen.

"Xavier?"

"Nathan." Xavier said across the street, there was something in his tone that made Nathan instantly alert. "What's wrong? Did something happen to Sera?" tanyanya.

Xavier seemed to take a few seconds longer before turning over from across the street. After the man spoke later, there was a thick regret tucked inside his voice.

"Now nothing happened. However, I'm worried that something will happen." Xavier took a long breath. "Nathan, I was impulsive by taking Sera to the health facility to see her father today."

"You what?!"

Nathan involuntarily shouted when he heard Xavier's unsuspecting confession.

***

"You what?!"

The sound of Nathan's doctor tight across there made Xavier slightly move his phone away from his ear and let out a long sigh.

"You heard it, right? I offered Sera to come with me to see her father" he said later.

"Are you crazy? You don't see Sera's big belly? I did advise her to take a walk, but it was just a light walk in the garden around the house to flex her muscles and she had to stop when her swollen legs no longer supported her body! After all, don't you think that the health facility is located far enough away from your home? Do you think a long road trip in Sera's pregnant condition won't be a problem for her? Sera will be very uncomfortable on the way! Not to mention his emotional state. Meeting her father after such a long time when she was in this state would create an emotional explosion that her body might not be able to endure! You could endanger Sera."

"I knew. I'm worried too." Xavier clearly regretted his impulsive call earlier. At this time when Sera was changing clothes, she moved away to her study room to call Nathan without being caught. "Therefore I want you to be there just in case."

"Jeez Xavier! You seem to really like testing my heart health. Cancel your request if you can. I know you're very persuasive when it comes to persuasion, you can definitely make Sera understand that her health is above everything right now and it's better not to risk harming her and her baby." Nathan replied across the street without hiding his anger. The condition of twin pregnancy Sera is very risky, coupled with the condition of the mother who is quite fragile and weak. Nathan has been trying to minimize the bad possibilities that can happen, but Xavier even easily makes decisions that can ruin everything. "Despite that, I will be present at that health facility. If you don't manage to persuade Sera to cancel this visit, then we'll meet there later." Although he was angry with Xavier's reckless attitude, Nathan still could not ignore Sera's health condition at will. Therefore, without waiting for Xavier's answer, he immediately hung up the phone call and drove his car as fast as possible to the health facility where Sera's father was treated.

***

Xavier stared at his now silent phone with a grim expression. Nathan may have meant well and he knows that what Nathan said is true.

His impulsive decision might endanger Sera. But how could Xavier have canceled it?

Sera was already so happy when she found out that Xavier was going to ask her to meet his father and that Xavier could not possibly put himself as a bad person who would tear that happiness to pieces just like that.

Whatever decision he made now was like a double-edged sword that either side of him could hurt Sera. If he took the woman to the hospital, he might risk Sera's health. If she cancels Sera's visit to the hospital, she will also hurt Sera.

Xavier let out a long sigh, scrambled his slightly longer hair than usual and stepped out of his study.

"Xavier?" When he reached the living room, Sera's excited voice immediately greeted him. Xavier's eyes moved following the source of the voice and met directly with Sera's eyes sitting on the living room sofa waiting for her.

The woman looked very happy. His face was beaming amidst the sunlight that began to rise to the throne of the sky, his lips covered in a smile and Sera looked like a child on the eve of her birthday who was so excited and pounding waiting for what gift his parents would buy for him tomorrow.

How could he follow Nathan's advice to cancel his invitation and fade that beautiful smile from his beloved face?

Xavier reviewed a faint smile, then stepped closer to Sera and knelt in front of her.

"You look happy." she whispered softly and placed her hand on the woman's distended stomach. "Are you sure you're gonna be okay?" tanyanya.

Sera's cheeks hinted red, but she couldn't hide her spirited and impatient self to set off. These seconds felt stifling to the chest, leaving Sera's heart flooded with the feeling that was swelling her chest and as if it was about to blow her up. Stay one step longer until he reaches a dream that he did not even dare to imagine. He's going to see his father!

"I'll be fine." Sera's lips smiled widely with pleasure. The woman cupped Xavier's hand in her stomach, then sighed a sincere greeting that had been at the end of her tongue since. "I'm very grateful to you, Xavier. You know, I'm so happy." Sera's hand squeezed Xavier's hand firmly. But then his eyes caught Xavier's unusual reaction and anxiety instantly filled his soul. "You're looking grim." Sera's heart suddenly beat with painful anticipation. "You... You didn't change your mind and canceled it, did you?" he asked with a trembling voice.

Xavier looked at Sera directly in his eyes, the man seemed to think, then finally his head shook his head and his lips extended a smile.

"How can I cancel it? You're this happy." Xavier's lips extended a gentle smile.

Sera bit her lips, but eventually forced herself to speak again.

Well, he had been used to suppress his expectations. Although at this moment his expectations had already soared too high, but he could suppress it again all the way to the bottom, right? Doesn't matter. He has done it often in the past. He certainly can.

"If you change your mind, I can take it." Sera spoke slowly with trembling lips. "I know that you have a reason.I can understand."

In the second Sera's voice stopped, in that second Xavier's hand suddenly cupped both sides of his head and put Sera's face towards him. Without waiting for a second to pass, Xavier's lips then found Sera's lips and immediately drowned the softness of the sweet rancid lips into her pagutan. Xavier sipped Sera's lips slowly, teasing with her tongue, pressing down with his strength and grinding Sera's lips with his. Until when the man decided to stop his kiss with difficulty, the breath of the two of them who were still combined in the closeness of the lips that seemed reluctant to separate, sounded simple to each other in a passionate puff.

Sera looked around the quiet living room. The maids usually deliberately gave privacy to their masters and mistresses and chose to keep a comfortable and unobtrusive distance. Fortunately, otherwise they might catch Sera and Xavier kissing passionately in the open like this and would put Sera to death.

Sera's eyes met Xavier's eyes again and she immediately understood the real desire that was burning from behind Xavier's misty eyeballs. During these last months, their marital relationship, though it cannot be said to be perfect, went on quite well. Intertwined communication flows between them, creating a much stronger familiarity and understanding closeness than ever before. Their relationship in bed is much better. Sera was used to serving Xavier who seemed to have an irresistible desire when with him, they were pleasing each other without coercion. Sera's pregnancy did make Xavier more cautious, but that doesn't mean the man is self-absorbed. They keep making love several times a day, trying various variations where Xavier teaches Sera things that she did not think she could do before, they also try to make love in various places in this house that makes Sera's cheeks always flushed when imagining it.

Then, after the age of Sera's womb stepped seven months, Xavier finally muted himself and stopped completely uniting himself with Sera in order to maintain the health of the womb. It doesn't mean they stop making love. The man takes her to a new world, teaching her how to please each other without having to harm her womb.

Now, Xavier's expression clearly showed his soaring desire while with Sera and it made Sera comment on the smile on her lips, before touching her hand to cupper Xavier's cheek.

"You.. You want me to help you?" his whisper slowly with a stifled voice was filled with a thick sense of shame. He and Xavier may have tried all the intimacy between husbands and wives in their relationship, but talking about things like this clearly still incites shame in his soul.

Xavier looked stunned at Sera's offer. His eyes looked into Sera's eyes and when he found out how earnest his wife was when he offered to help Xavier finish his passion, his lips immediately broke a wide grin.

Xavier chuckled, the man then climbed up to sit on the sofa beside Sera and carried the woman into the embrace of her arms.

"You... What should I do to you?" Xavier's voice sank in the softness of Sera's hair and the man seemed to be grumbling. Yes, his passion did indeed rise because of their kiss. His passion is always raised when with Sera. But that does not mean he will be that selfish husband who puts his passion above all else.

Xavier lowered his head and his fingers touched Sera's chin, leaning the woman towards him.

"I'll collect your promise later tonight" whispered Xavier in a thick sensual tone, enjoying as the shy hue on Sera's face darkened further. "For now, we must go see your father as planned."

Sera's beautiful clear eyes instantly widened because of it.

"You... didn't cancel it?" he asked as if unsure. His hopes began to soar again, but Sera held back with all her might, unwilling to let her hopes fly high and fell ill.

"Of course I didn't cancel it." Xavier presents a kiss on the side of Sera's cheek. "As long as you promise you'll be okay, okay?"

Sera clenched her hands excitedly.

"I'll be fine" he said confidently, leaving Xavier chuckling again.

"The trip to the health facility is quite far away, I think it's better that you sleep the whole way so you don't get too tired. You should also wear a wheelchair because I don't want you to move too much and...." Xavier stopped his sentence, looking solemnly at Sera. "Don't be so emotional no matter what you're going to be. You know, excessive emotional outbursts can harm you and your baby." Xavier stroked Sera's stomach with an anxiety-mixed affection. "Are you sure you can do it?" tanyanya.

"I-I'll try, Xavier."

Xavier drowned Sera's head into his arms and closed her eyes slowly.

Nathan will definitely be furious with him because he decided to keep Sera going to see her father. But, compared to the happiness that Sera will feel later, then everything will be worth it.

He just had to keep the fact that the stage four cancer that gnawed at Sera's father was unknown to his wife, at least until his wife gave birth to his children and his health condition both physical and mental had improved.

***

Sera actually slept during the trip and she only woke up when Xavier's finger touched her soft cheek and rubbed it slowly. When Sera's eyes opened, she saw her husband smiling looking at her.

"We've arrived?" Sera blinked her eyes, her head turned to the outside of the window and stared at the magnificent building of the health facility where her father was treated with wide eyes. The building was actually much larger and more majestic than he had expected. He turned his head back towards Xavier before he asked again to convince himself. "Did my father... be cared for here?"

Xavier nodded. "Yes, he's being treated here." Xavier watched Sera and studied her facial expressions to make sure she was okay. Sera was still as pale as ever, but there was a red hue on her face which showed that blood was flowing smoothly in her body. The woman also put on a smile and looked cheerful. Inevitably Xavier breathed a sigh of relief. He was worried that the long journey to this health facility would make Sera's body exhausted, but luckily Sera fell asleep all the way until it seemed like the woman even woke up with fresh conditions.  "Wait here for a second, I'll get your wheelchair ready and help you get down."

As Xavier moves to the opposite side in the passenger cabin to open the door, Sera suddenly moves her hand to touch Xavier's shirt and pulls it slightly, making Xavier stop his movement.

"What's up, Sera?" Xavier turned his body back. "Do you feel pain?"

Sera shook her head quickly, trying to quell Xavier's anxiety instantly.

"No. I'm doing fine. I just...." Sera let out a long sigh, as if having trouble speaking. "For many years, my father was treated in a poor health facility in a state prison. As a criminal, my father was almost laid to rest and only received medical treatment. But you got my dad transferred to a health facility this good." Sera turned her face and looked at Xavier solemnly. "Thank you, Xavier."

The sincerity in Sera's voice in her gratitude felt like an arrow piercing into Xavier's soul. His chest immediately ached, filled with guilt that instantly pierced through his heart. He was the cause of Sera's father being imprisoned then beaten and lying in a coma arena grudging Roman Dawn to him. He caused Sera to separate and not be able to see her father. Now the woman who had been forced to bear her child, sat in a thin and tired condition with a large belly because of the twins she had implanted there, instead thanked him with sparkling eyes as if Xavier was an angel of salvation.

How could this dark soul possibly accept that sincerity? Doesn't Sera hate him? Didn't Sera blame him? Why did the woman say thank you to him?

Xavier thinned his lips, held back the turbulent feeling in his chest, then gave Sera a gentle hug and kissed the tops of his head.

"How many times have you thanked me? You know that I don't deserve it" she whispered hoarsely before stepping down from the car without waiting for Sera's reaction to her words.

Sera stared at the closed car door in front of her. He heard clearly Xavier's words earlier, and his heart was immediately filled with questions.

Does Xavier think that Sera still blames him for all the bad things that happened to him?

Sera did not have time to think any further because the door next to her was opened by their driver. A wheelchair was set up in the health facility's lobby and Xavier bent over at the car door before scooping Sera in a sling and taking her up the stairs to the lobby, then gently place it on the wheelchair. The man knelt down to put a blanket on Sera's lap, before then looking up at her.

"You ready?" ask her in a supportive smile.

Sera returned that smile with affection. "I'm ready" he answered confidently.

The lobby's glass doors opened and distracted them. It looked as if Nathan's doctor had appeared there with a stiff expression on his face. The man stared at Xavier as if to blame because in the end, Xavier still brought Sera to this place.

"Get in the inner lobby, it's cold and windy here" he said, opening the glass door for them.

Xavier got up and pushed Sera's wheelchair inside, behind them, the bodyguards tried to appear inconspicuous and ensure the situation was under control within their perimeter of security. Luckily the lobby space was quite quiet so that their group did not attract the attention of visitors who came.

"How was the trip here?" Doctor Nathan is holding out to Sera's wheelchair, her voice turning soft when speaking to the woman.

Sera raised her head and smiled convincingly at the doctor. "The trip was fun" he said slowly.

Xavier smiled at Sera's reply. "Of course the trip was fun. You sleep all the time" she whispered softly, making Sera's cheeks flushed with it.

Doctor Nathan smiled widely, feeling relief because his anxiety did not occur. Now, it's just a matter of waiting for Sera to handle her emotional outburst when she sees her father for the first time in a long time. Meeting with loved ones after a long separation is enough to shake the emotions. Even more difficult, if the loved one is not in good condition. That's what happened to Sera's father now. The man was lying in a coma on a hospital bed and his condition was invisible, not exactly good.

Doctor Nathan imagines if Sera's situation happened to him. If he was a child who had not seen his father for many years, then he could finally see his father, but he was emaciated, with his eyes closed unconsciously, the mouth gaped helplessly, with many life-supporting cables attached to his body and a hose that filled the air hole and hollowed out his neck... maybe he won't be able to withstand the emotional explosion that will tear down all his strength.

Doctor Nathan could not stop cursing Xavier's impulsive decision to bring Sera to this place, then turned his head carefully towards Sera, studied the woman's face and tried to judge her. What about Sera herself? Is the woman's heart strong enough to bear it?

He sincerely wished Sera was strong enough. He did not want the woman to collapse to make both the condition of the mother and her twin baby threatened.

"Doctor Nathan? You're here too?"

The greeting sound from the reception desk made the daydream doctor Nathan's anxiety stopped. The man raised his head and looked towards the source of the sound.

"Doctor Oberon?" Nathan uttered the name of his sweeper in slight surprise.
