The Essence Of The Darkness

The Essence Of The Darkness
EOTL eps 61: Surprise at the End

Sera protested nothing. He is self-aware and knows his position.

When Xavier gave an ultimatum in a cold and heartless manner and said that Sera had to leave her home that day, Sera immediately pulled back her heart that had warmed up and forgot herself. He was foolish for softening his heart only because Xavier had given him consolation.

Last night Xavier was being incredibly gentle and sweet. The man taught Sera patiently, guiding her so that she could find the other side of her body she had never been aware of.

But that's all. Not more. Can't wear feelings.

Their love last night was just a physical necessity. Sera needs consolation and Xavier provides it.

That's all it is.

Sera tried to calm herself down, trying to advise her soul that this was what was supposed to happen. Their impulsive romance last night should never have happened, given the magnitude of the emotional effects they had to endure after logic had regained control of their hearts and brains.

But how else? It's all happened, there's no turning back.

Sera herself realized that she was much more angry with herself than Xavier. Xavier Light is innocent, he is just being himself who has long been known as a heartless creature. The stupid Sera who had once cultivated the affection and empathy in her heart to Xavier. The fool Sera forgot, that in the eyes of the man, he was just a soulless container that Xavier needed for his own sake.

Even so, there were still good things that Sera could quote from this endless eternity. He realized that the fear of Xavier, who had woken up a long time ago due to the trauma implanted in his head, had begun to fade. Perhaps the togetherness of those who unravel the fear of Sera, maybe also because Sera has seen for herself how Xavier in his weakest condition, so Sera so understand, that Xavier is an ordinary human like himself, as he is, it wasn't the monstrous monsters that came strangling in every nightmare.

Yep. He was no longer afraid of Xavier.

Sera involuntarily cradled a little hard to attract the attention of Xavier who was sitting next to her in the passenger cabin of the car that was driving.

"Are you okay?"

Xavier's voice sounded worried, breaking the awkward silence that surrounded the cabin space of the car.

Sera did not look up, nor did she look towards Xavier. He focused his gaze toward his finger that was intertwined on his lap, then nodded his head calmly.

"I'm doing fine. Just a little tired," Sera replied then emotionlessly.

"Oh. I'm sorry." Xavier immediately replied in a guilty murmur, while Sera again nodded her thin head, unwilling to reply.

The silence stretched out again, this time even more stifling than before. Sera herself tried to ignore the existence of Xavier beside her. He deliberately turned his head in the opposite direction from the man, looked at the outside window and watched the row of shady trees that lined up firmly and shade the wide pavement on the side of the road they passed.

It was at that moment that Sera realized that the car had gone out of the city limits and led to a suburban area located on a plateau with cool air and trees that were still green.

"We're out of town?" Sera turned her head towards Xavier, staring curiously.

Xavier nodded his head. "We're heading to a place that will be your home later. This area is a green area that is still not contaminated with pollution. There is a special resort in which there is an area of various exclusive villas with advanced security systems and privacy is maintained. Even so, you do not need to be afraid of living in a remote area that is full of constraints. The resort is almost like a small hidden city, its facilities are complete, from shopping centers to cafes selling various foods in its commercial area. You can ask the driver to take you to the area if you are bored at home. You can walk there freely, of course by not forgetting to bring some bodyguards to take care of you." Xavier explained quickly when he saw the panic on Sera's face.

"Why don't you just give me back my old house? I might have enough savings to fix it myself. I live alone, I don't need a big villa. Quite a cozy little house that I can occupy quietly." Sera declared her protest immediately.

When Xavier talked about the house, what Sera thought was a beautiful and simple little house, which was in an ordinary housing complex with neighbors who were as familiar as her home used to be. However, Sera is wrong to have expected something mediocre from Xavier, instead of a house, to be, Xavier gave him a new prison in the form of a large villa with tight security and a remote location that could not be reached by ordinary people.

"Save your savings for yourself. You're my wife. That means you should always be protected. I'm sorry, but I have a lot of enemies out there waiting for an opportunity to pierce my weak point." Xavier's eyes narrowed as he sharpened his gaze to Sera. "Right now, you're my weak point, which is why you must inevitably get used to all the care I give you."

Just as Xavier finished his sentence, the car they were riding in had reached its destination. The car stopped in the spacious courtyard of a lush house by green trees that were soothing to the eyes.

Sera glanced from outside the window and her eyes instantly discovered that there were many guards around the house, they were dressed in black and neat, the hallmark of Xavier's bodyguards.

Sera involuntarily snorted back as she said goodbye to the normal, peaceful life she had dreamed of.

"You don't like this house?" Xavier asked curiously, apparently the sound of Sera's breath creeping up to his ear.

If Sera replies she doesn't like it, maybe she'll look like a lady who doesn't know she's lucky, right? Although she had been coldly evicted from her husband's house, it turned out that a magnificent villa was given to her instead. Even Sera didn't know if she should laugh or cry about it.

"Look at it first, I'm sure you'll like it." Xavier suddenly opens his car door and pulls Sera's hand to follow. Inevitably Sera walked behind the man, stepped into the house without being able to argue because her hands were still tightly grasped.

Their steps stopped in the living room of the house decorated with simple decorations with the dominance of soft tanned colors. The interior arrangement of this villa is made like a family retreat with many wooden elements throughout, creating a pleasant warm feel. In fact, Sera who had insisted to close her heart to this house also liked it.

"I bought it from Akram. The rest house was used as a temporary residence for Nolan. But because Nolan is currently continuing his schooling in London boarding school, then this house is finally left empty uninhabited."

"Nolan?" Sera asked confusedly, not recognizing the name.

"Elana's sister." Xavier explained in passing. The man then pulled Sera again. "Come, you want to see your room, right?"

His room? This man will casually take Sera into what will be his private room?

After his logic was lost yesterday and made him voluntarily surrender to Xavier only to be coldly expelled later, Sera was already determined to fortify her heart with an impenetrable layer of self-protection.

He would not allow himself to be alone with Xavier in a private, enclosed room. Because, if the man got carried away and decided to seduce her, Sera was unsure if she would have the strength to resist.

Sera's step was immediately restrained when thinking about it, making Xavier unable to pull it. His attitude made Xavier turn his head and frown.

"Why are you sculpting? The butler sent all your clothes here this morning. I've also ordered them to arrange all your clothes into the wardrobe in your room. You don't want to check if they've arranged your clothes correctly?" ask Xavier without sin.

Sera shook her head, suddenly irritated by the insensitivity of the man. It may be true, people say, that Xavier Light most likely did not have the human feeling of a commoner. The man seems to be used to acting like a robot that does not have a heart.

Doesn't Xavier know that Sera is angry and hurt? Sera has been kicked out suddenly and asked to leave after last night's love that softens her heart, which woman will not be hurt?

"No. I'll see her later. Where is the kitchen in this house?" Soon Sera diverted Xavier's interest to something else. Stubbornly, he then tried to let go of Xavier's grip on his hand. Luckily the man did not force his grip and immediately let go of Sera's hand just like that.

“Why do you want to go to the kitchen?” Xavier glanced at Sera who had deliberately dodged and moved away from him.

“My stomach is hungry. I want to eat something. I haven't eaten anything since breakfast." Sera said quickly, her feet then stepped ahead of Xavier towards the hallway that was connected to the living room of the house. "May I cook something first to fill my stomach? I think there's still time. We'll see my dad at five in the afternoon, won't we?" Sera deliberately reminded by repeating Xavier's words this morning about the clock in the health facility where his father is currently treated.

Although he was no longer treated in a state prison and had obtained permission to be transferred to the best hospital facilities given by Xavier to him, his father was still a prisoner. Therefore, there are limitations in terms of visiting hours, including the issue of besuk clocks that must be obeyed.

Although the limitations of the clock were sad for Sera because she knew that her father could only lie unconscious on the bed and could not do two-way communication when swiped, still she was grateful that her father had obtained better treatment facilities.

“We can eat on the way to the hospital where your father was treated later." Xavier glanced at his watch. "There's still time to do it.”

Sera shook her head stubbornly. "I'm hungry now and it's better to cook here if there's food to eat" he said quickly.

Xavier raised his eyebrows. "I'm not hungry,” said later, making Sera thinning her lips half irritated.

“Who said I would cook for you? I don't care if you're hungry or not. I want to cook and want to eat to fill my own stomach." Sera sped her way through the passage, leaving Xavier behind while peering at every door that appeared to the left right of the passageway, looking around for where the kitchen was.

Unnoticed Xavier who grinned half amusedly and half irritated at the attitude of Sera who was a stone head. He was happy because Sera had been a little more courageous to refute him and was not afflicted with fear anymore like she used to be. Even so, Xavier was determined not to show his pleasure in front of Sera so that Sera was not big-headed.

“The kitchen is right there, at the end of the hallway. I think there's some groceries in the fridge that's been stored for you. From tomorrow the chef will start working here so that you do not need to cook anything, he will provide food for you.”

Sera followed Xavier's directions, then opened the large glass door at the end of the hall. The kitchen of this house is very large and beautiful, with large glass windows that fill the walls and display views of the flower garden in the backyard that is pleasing to the eye. Wooden shades still seem to dominate, just like all parts of this house.

Sera immediately stepped inside the kitchen and opened the door of the large refrigerator located at the end of the room.

Xavier was right, this kitchen seemed to have just been filled full of various supplies of complete foodstuffs to meet his needs.

“No instant food." Sera who was bowing her body in front of the refrigerator frowned while voicing her protest.

“I don't need a chef. I can prepare my own food." Sera picked up the eggs and a wide variety of vegetables, turned on the water tap and washed the vegetables in the sink available in the pantry.

“There are many employees who also live in this house. They live in separate buildings over there." Xavier pointed towards the large building located at the end of the flower garden behind the house. Sera frowned because she had not previously realized that the building was still one part with this house. He had thought that the building was a neighboring house directly adjacent to this villa.

“The employees who served in this house, they lived there. The building was more like a dormitory with twenty-five bedrooms. They all need to eat, too. So, the chef is not just preparing food for you," Xavier continued later, explaining in a light voice.

Sera frowned. His eyes looked at Xavier sharply while his hands moved to slice the vegetable he was about to cook.

“Why did you bother assigning so many people to look after me in this mansion? If you don't want to return me to my own house, wouldn't you rather rent me a small apartment with a complete security system? That way, you don't have to waste your money on all this, do you?" tanyanya fast.

Xavier chuckles. The man jumped to sit on a high bench like a bar stool located in front of a kitchen pantry covered in white marble.

“Because I want to prepare the house for my children too," he said calmly.

The movement of Sera who was slicing vegetables in front of him instantly came to a halt. The woman raised her head, looking at Xavier in confusion.

“You're planning on making me stay here forever?" ask again.

Xavier was chin-backed, looking at Sera with a sharp look despite being clad in a smile.

“Yes. This house I'm giving you, as one of the compensation for our deal. If you look at your genetic makeup and the preparation that Nathan's doctor gave you. I was speculating that you'd be carrying twins, and Nathan's doctor said that if you do get pregnant later, the possibility that you'd be carrying twins is almost certain." Xavier glanced at Sera's stomach at a glance, then looked back at Sera's face again. "I want my children to grow up in a fully protected environment, safe and comfortable for them to grow up in. The preparation should start as early as possible, right? You three will live comfortably here.”

Xavier called ‘threesome’ and somehow it was as if it was jabbing at the most painful side in Sera's mind. Whether intentional or not, the man clearly stated that he would not be part of the small family he was planning.

“What if I don't want to follow the scenario you've arranged for me?" Sera placed the vegetables she had sliced in the large glass bowl container available there. He took garlic and various other herbs and peeled them. "Didn't our deal end when I managed to provide the stem cells from my baby's umbilical cord to be transplanted to you? Didn't you say after that that I'd be free? What if I don't want to stay in this house?”

The question finally succeeded in disturbing the Xavier tranquility mask that he had installed perfectly. His body that had been relaxed immediately stiffened with his back straight. His expression hardened while his eyes narrowed sharply towards Sera.

“Where are you going to take my kids? You don't have anyone in this world, do you? Do you still think of your Aaron that you're here for?" Xavier snarled the threatening sentence, taking off his smile mask completely.

Sera raised an eyebrow. Xavier's arrogant and cynical attitude prompted Sera to challenge. "You're making me pregnant and giving birth just because you want stem cells from my baby's placenta, right? If you've got what you want, why bother thinking about what I'll do with my kids?”

Xavier's hands clenched. "Because those kids are my kids too. Did you forget?" tanyanya while tightening the molars resisting anger.

Sera slammed the knife in her hand, her chin raised haughtily towards Xavier.

“Let me recall the contents of our deal, Mr. Xavier Light. You release Aaron, you release my father from custody, you also promise to release me. In return, I am willing to conceive and give birth to your children so that you can take the placenta to cure your illness. Point. Finished getting there. Just getting there is the end of our deal. Have you forgotten? What I will do after I repay you is none of your business anymore! You have no right to set me.”

“Serafina Moon." Xavier interrupted full of warnings, growling Sera's name slowly with a strong emphasis on each tribe he said. His sharp voice indeed managed to make Sera stop talking. The woman looked at Xavier warily and with anticipation, while Xavier countered the gaze with flames of anger flaring in her eyeballs.

The two of them were both silent, as if measuring each other's strength before starting to attack each other.

Then, Xavier's phone rang loudly, breaking the tense silence that lay between the two of them. Xavier was about to ignore it, but somehow the phone call was so stubborn, it kept sounding like it wouldn't stop before Xavier picked it up.

Reluctantly Xavier glanced towards the screen of his phone. His eyebrows wrinkled when he saw Doctor Nathan's name there. Finally, Xavier's hand moved to receive the call.

“What's up?” With an impatient tone of voice, Xavier also replied.

“Is Sera with you?" Doctor Nathan did not mince words, directly asking him questions.

Xavier's eyes glanced at Sera who was still staring at him alertly and waiting. Finally Xavier nodded his head thinly even though he knew that Nathan could not see him.

“Yes. He's with me. Why?”

“I think you should take him to the hospital now, Xavier. I need to confirm my final test. So, I need to get a sample of his blood and urine right now." Doctor Nathan's voice sounded urgent, indicating his seriousness.

“Now? What other test results?" Xavier's forehead crinkled when he heard Nathan's urgent demands on him. He tried to get rid of the various negative conjectures that flashed in his brain and immediately asked, "Can you explain to me first what your reason is?”

“I did a re-examination on the Serafina blood sample taken two days ago. The results showed that Serafina was pregnant." Doctor Nathan spoke quickly, throwing a shock that made Xavier instantly freeze with widened eyes, at a loss for words.
