The Essence Of The Darkness

The Essence Of The Darkness
EOTL eps 51: Results

When the door of the treatment room was tightly closed from the outside, Xavier opened his eyes which had been closed tightly. The look in his eyes seemed to be filled with a gleam of pain, something he had not allowed out on the outward appearance of his emotions, something he had prevented from being able to be clearly seen by Sera.

This is better. The more Sera thought that Xavier hated her, the easier it was for the woman to break away from him.

Xavier really wants to die. When he was in a coma, darkness surrounded him warmly, releasing him from all burdens and alleviating all suffering, suffering, and suffering, the trauma and anguish he had been enduring clung to his memory without him being able to forget.

It was at this point that Xavier realized that he was on the verge of exhaustion, that he should not have forced himself to embrace life, giving up all his hopes. It was time for him to welcome death with a happy heart.

It had been planned for a long time, long before he met the figure of Serafina Moon who sprinkled a beam of hope in the heart, so Xavier decided to clash with fate, he was inspired to fight for his life.

How foolish he was, attracted by Sera's lustrous sheen to pull her heart out, made her forget how broken she was behind this perfectly physical shell. Xavier, like a laron, attracted to the luster of the moon's splendid lantern light, approached without protection, unaware that he had fragile wings that could burn at any time when he took the risk of approaching.

With dark eyes, he even awakened his spirit of life, struggling, wanting to use all means to survive so that he could accompany a woman as beautiful as the moon that attracted his heart. But the accident that befell him, has dragged him to the edge of the gaping abyss of death and awaits, to finally make him realize, that he should not keep the dream to live.

His body might be perfect on the outside, but on the inside, Xavier was already badly damaged.

The embrace of death is closer to him than the embrace of healing. Transplatation of stem cells using tissue from the placenta of the child later, if done, has a high risk and does not bring certainty of recovery for him. Xavier could have recovered, gotten a little better, or at worst, got worse and ended up dying in vain.

If he forced himself, wouldn't he eventually just become a useless pest that would only trouble and burden Sera?

The current decision he made, was correct. Xavier may have been guilty of taking Sera and bringing her into his life by force and thoughtlessness. But it is not too late to fix everything. If he creates a distance between himself and Sera, then makes Sera think that they really hate each other, at least he can save Sera's heart from this mess.

Even though his own heart could no longer be saved.

Xavier raised his hand to cover his face, while his breathing was chasing as if he was having trouble drawing air into his lungs. His entire body was in a lot of pain, every breath, every blink, every movement, all sending out pain signals that whack his body with terrifying strength.

But, it was all still nothing when compared to the pain that plagued his heart at this moment.

“Do you have a relationship with Aaron Dawn that you didn't tell me?”

Akram slammed a small chip into the face of Dimitri who was sitting and enjoying his breakfast on the table.

Yes, while in this country, under the captivity of Akram Night, Dimitri had to let himself be locked up in a detention room that was guarded by Akram's men, without knowing when he could be freed from this place.

However, he was still lucky when compared to Sabina who was forcefully put to sleep with a special anesthetic and chained on her bed. At least, despite his confinement and restricted independence, Dimitri still gained freedom over his personal consciousness, he was also treated well here, not beaten or beaten and getting three meals a day.

Meanwhile, the room where it is locked, although simple, has facilities that meet its basic needs sufficiently. The bathroom is clean and there is a bed that despite its small size, is very soft and comfortable to sleep in.

Even now, Dimitri was sitting and enjoying the breakfast and coffee delivered by the guards to his room, while sitting in a single seat where the position is faced with a small table that is also provided in the room.

Unfortunately, Akram who rushed in and asked in an intimidating manner, immediately wiped out his appetite. Dimitri finally put the tableware in his hand, finished his new breakfast halfway, and wiped his mouth with the tissue that was also prepared for him.

“Although the Dawn Family is into a rich family in Russia, but they are mostly engaged in official business that is not directly related to my business, so I never deal with them.” Dimitri rewinded his body and leaned back on the chair, then crossed it while glancing towards the chip that Akram had thrown at him. “This what?” her question was full of curiosity.

”Akram stood straight in front of Dimitri's desk, his expression looking stern and suspicious, as if the man could not believe what Dimitri had just said. The man then half-bent in front of the table and took the chip back, then took out a sophisticated digital visualization interpreter tool thin like a card from behind his pocket, and attach the chip to the advanced tool in his hand.

A viewing image from the surveillance cameras is directly projected on the wall in front of them, showing the view from a tall corporate gate.

Akram watched Dimitri's face, then thinned his half-mocking lips.

“That's the look of the surveillance camera at your drug distribution company branch in the country, just in case you forgot,” his hiss, telling in a cynical tone.

Dimitri could only nod his head, staring at the projection display of the surveillance camera curiously. His company branch in the country purposely built so that he could stay in the country for a long time without having to bother taking care of everything with the immigration department. The rest, the company was run by his assistant who was quite an expert in the field of business, so Dimitri almost never took care of it.

“What happened there?” in a bored voice, Dimitri raised an eyebrow when the view of the surveillance camera only showed the guards pacing the gate and standing by as usual.

Acram thinning lips. “In the meantime,” he said as if giving an ultimatum.

Sure enough, Akram finished saying, a figure that staggered and looked shabby like a tramp-drunk seemed to walk closer to the guard, making the guards immediately stand by and some were getting ready to pull weapons. Then, it appears the scene of the homeless figure trying to negotiate before then falling to the ground losing consciousness.

“He has been confirmed as Aaron Dawn, currently under my supervision, but he does not know it.” Akram stared intently at Dimitri. “Before fainting, he introduced himself and looked for you.”

“You can get the surveillance camera footage at my company gate easily.” Dimitri looked at Akram curiously. He was misfocused, instead of noticing about Aaron Dawn who he thought was unimportant, instead he felt intimidated by how easily Akram Night retrieved information from even the most important heavily guarded places.

Is it okay, Akram also placed a spy in his closest scope all this time without him knowing?

Akram noticed the horror that was imprinted in Dimitri's eyes, his lips wrinkled, showing a real threat.

“I can get anything easily. Therefore, don't mess around and try to lie with me, Dimitri.” Akram growling. “I was suspicious when Sabina who was your man was involved in this. Now, Aaron Dawn who injured Xavier and was helped by Sabina suddenly comes looking for you. Is it not likely that you are the brains behind all this chaos, but now pretend to be sinless before me?” ask with a probing tone to the bottom of the heart.

“Hey, I'm not involved at all!” Dimitri raised his palm on his chest in a sign of giving up as a defensive reflex move. “I have never met or dealt with Aaron Dawn before. I could swear! You can see my own track record if you don't believe.” Dimitri said with a strong tone of honesty to protect himself, hoping the truth he expressed was enough to convince Akram.

Lama Akram watches Dimitri with a piercing glare, making Dimitri's heartbeat rise faster without him noticing. Shortly thereafter, Akram decided.

“Alright, for now I will hold your word. But if later I find that you are lying, your head will not stick to your neck any longer,” threatened him with a terrible tone, which makes anyone who heard it instantly shrivel his guts.

Akram then glanced to turn off the chip reader tool he was carrying and put it back in his pocket.

“For now, I will force you to cooperate with me. Remember, your life is in my hands, so you have no choice but to follow the scenario I have set out for you.”

Dimitri frowned. “What do you mean?” tanyanya's confused.

“The fact that Aaron came to contact you for help, it means that he knows nothing.” Akram squinted. “I want you to approach him, make him an ally and see what his plans are further. Xavier decides to give her the antidote and let her waltz away. But, I suspect that Aaron is not that simple, he will not waltz away just like that and will make it difficult someday if there is no rope that snare his neck.” Akram's gaze again pierced towards Dimitri before saying, “and you'll be the one to pull Aaron Night's neck-strap every time he bergelagat negative.”

“Mrs Light.”

The sound of the call made Sera who was crouching in the garden behind Xavier's house turn her head. The sunlight was cool enough in the morning that it had not rolled into this afternoon and Sera spent her time as early as gardening in the flower garden located at the back of Xavier's stately home.

It has been a week since Sera came home from the hospital without seeing Xavier again. Sera herself received a clause file from lawyers regarding their deal and read it carefully. In the end, he agreed, because what the lawyer gave him was not added and reduced, according to what Xavier Light had told him.

There were many things that Sera wanted to refute and wanted Sera to argue with Xavier, but she eventually held back. Xavier was sick, and the pain was severe. Not only because of his puncture wound, but also because of aplastic anemia that continued to weaken his body from within. As hard as Sera's heart was, she still had love for Xavier, which encouraged her to keep quiet and to obey, not wanting to make Xavier even more sick from now on.

If the man really wanted to throw it away, then Sera would waltz away after she finished returning the favor. If the child he contains later can indeed save Xavier, then Sera will give stem cells from the placenta with pleasure, then the debt of return was fulfilled by breakeven.

As for his heart, Xavier's attitude that night showed everything. They are just two people who are bound by a debt agreement with each other, nothing more.

Sera may have been a tool for Xavier to recover and atone for his past sins, while Xavier was a savior for Sera's loved ones to be paid in full. Once the deal is done, then both Sera and Xavier will step in the opposite direction, turning their backs and not turning their heads again.

“Mrs Light.” The servant called again as Sera instead daydreamed while staring at the invisible air in front of her. His second call this time, managed to make Sera gasp and immediately looked at his servant's eyes in confusion.

“What's up?” the question is soft, as always.

“Doctor Nathan came here to see An-.” Before he could finish his sentence, the maid was distracted by footsteps approaching the glass door area that connected directly to the flower garden where Sera was still crouching on the ground. “Ah, you are already here, Doctor.” The waiter bowed slightly in a respectful manner when he realized that Doctor Nathan had caught up to the back area of the house.

“I'll talk to Mrs Light here. Thank you, you can go.” Doctor Nathan spoke as he presented his dazzling smile towards the maid, making the young lady blush a little in a red hue before then bowing again and bidding away.

Doctor Nathan then turned his head towards Sera who was standing while patting the ground that soaked his gardening apron. His forehead frowned, implying disapproval.

“You should not garden before your pregnancy is confirmed.” With worry, Doctor Nathan watches over the land that soiled Sera's hands. “In addition to raw meat, and the medium of cat feces that eat rats or raw meat, the toxoplasma virus can survive well in the soil, the, it can even last up to a year under sun exposure if it is above ground.” Doctor Nathan's eyes watched Sera closely. “You certainly know about the toxoplasma virus, don't you? The virus is asymptomatic and only gives mild symptoms to humans, but the impact is different if suffered by young pregnant women. The virus attacks the fetus in the abdomen, creating a successive miscarriage, or even if the baby can be born safely, it is still overshadowed by the possibility of very large birth defects.”

Yes, she knows that the toxoplasma virus is a terrible scourge that is always sought to be avoided by pregnant women, she said, but his knowledge was only as late as last and he then forgot about it because he felt he was not in the position of pregnant women. When he saw the flowers blooming in Xavier's back, Sera was moved to tidy up her leaves and pluck a few stalks for a flower vase decoration, he forgot that most likely, she was already pregnant.

“I will wash my hands and change clothes, clean myself clean, after that I will meet you in the living room, Doctor.” Sera answered quickly. He knew that the virus had entered through contaminated food or hands that put food in the mouth, so if Sera washes her hands and exposed parts of the soil thoroughly, clean them thoroughly, he will avoid the possibility of exposure to the virus.

“Alright, I'll wait in the living room.” Doctor Nathan nodded his head, then stepped away from the glass doorway and passed Sera.

“What's up?”

After finishing changing clothes and cleaning himself, Sera went down to the living room and hurriedly sat up anxiously on the sofa which was located opposite to the position Doctor Nathan was sitting in. The anxiety began to overwhelm him.

Since Sera came home, there was no communication between her and Xavier. The only Xavier's man to see him was his lawyer who was sent to file the clause of the deal they had agreed to before.

Did Doctor Nathan come to do what he thought?

“I came by order Xavier.” Doctor Nathan spoke up immediately, answering the question in Sera's heart quickly. “I think this is the right time to take a sample of your blood to ensure your pregnancy.”

“Oh,” Sera nodded her head. What was said by Doctor Nathan has been guessed correctly since. However, for some reason his heart was still pounding faster than it should be, filled with a burst of adrenaline that poured uncontrollably into his bloodstream.

“Have you eaten? You're not dizzy and in good health, are you?” Doctor Nathan looked at Sera worriedly as Sera only responded to his words with a mutter.

Sera gasped, then immediately nodded her head. “I'm fine, Doctor,” he said quietly half a whisper. “Are you going to take my blood now? Inhere? Or do I need to go to the hospital?”

“I came specially to take your blood sample here. Xavier doesn't want you to come to the hospital.” Doctor Nathan spoke in passing and moved to remove the equipment from the bag he was carrying.

Without realizing it, that his words made Sera's heart as if pierced by pain, paled her face because of the sound of sadness and heartache.

Xavier Ligt really did what he said. She didn't want anything to do with Sera except for the one with the baby.

But why should Sera feel sad? Hadn't he also been determined to make Xavier just a stranger who happened to give him help so that in return he would have to pay the favor? Is not he himself who wants their relationship to be a transactional relationship of two strangers who prioritize their own benefits?

Sera should not feel sad, nor should she involve her heart and feelings here.

“Sera.” Doctor Nathan suddenly spoke, distracting Sera who was pondering.

As Sera focused her gaze toward Doctor Nathan, she realized that the doctor's clear eyeballs were implying an apology for the previous words spoken in passing.

“Do not misunderstand, Xavier forbids you to go to the hospital because he is worried about your condition. Who knows that now you may be pregnant, while the hospital is a gathering place for viruses and diseases, a young pregnant mother is very vulnerable there.”

“I understand.” Sera could not accept Doctor Nathan's explanation wholeheartedly, but he immediately agreed because he did not want to extend the discussion on this issue. “You can take my blood now,” Sera raised her chin and gave her arms stiffly.

“I came with the HCG test result from Sera.” urine blood sample Without saying anything stale, Doctor Nathan immediately spoke as soon as he entered Xavier's treatment room.

Xavier himself had started to recover slowly, his condition was not as weak as when he had just gotten the stab wound. The pain he was suffering from had subsided with time. Even at this moment, Xavier could already sit alone on his hospital bed without asking for help.

“How is Sera?” ignoring Doctor Nathan's previous statement, Xavier asked calmly.

“He is fine and healthy, when I came, he was gardening in the flower garden back.” Dr. Nathan retorted slowly as he stepped closer to Xavier's treatment bed.

Xavier immediately nodded his head, commenting on the smile on his lips.

“Head of the waiter reported that Sera ate the food prepared for her until the toilet, on some nights, she woke up with her eyes as if she had been crying, but lately she has not cried anymore,” the knot is soft when it comes to Serafina Moon.

Doctor Nathan frowned. Suddenly feeling anxious towards these two stubborn humans in front of him.

They seem to suffer equally, but why are they so hard-hearted and unwilling to open up to each other about the deepest desires of their hearts?

“Are you really going to do that deal? Making Sera pregnant so she doesn't feel indebted to you anymore?” Doctor Nathan finally said, unable to hide the anxiety in his voice.

“Yes. I've decided I'm going to do it. Sera has also agreed to that clause.” Xavier's sharp ears can certainly immediately catch the anxiety in Doctor Nathan's voice. Slowly the man raised his head, looking at Doctor Nathan with a curious look. “Why, Doctor? Is something bothering you?” then ask a little bit more alert.

Dr. Nathan let out a long sigh, then handed the file in his hand to Xavier, letting the man open the envelope and read it.

“I think you should try harder to realize the plan that you two agreed on, Xavier. Because the most accurate test results write that Serafina Moon is not pregnant.”
