Elana immediately realized something was wrong. His eyes spun quickly full of curiosity, but Credence moved even more swiftly. The man took off his expensive suit and released it by using it to cover the blood-soaked corpse that seemed to melt slowly on the floor.
Credence then placed himself right in front of Elana, blocking the view of the woman so that there was no need to see the terrible situation that was plastered in front of them.
“I don't think you need to see Elana, for your own good.” Credence grimaced a little guiltily, his broad shoulders being a fitting cover so that the petite Elana could not peek in the slightest. “Let's get out of this place. Akram asked us to come directly to the hospital,” he said then in a polite and gentle tone.
For a moment Elana turned her head towards Sera, as if asking for an opinion and immediately Sera nodded her head. It was enough that he had seen that terrifying scene in his eyes, Elana did not need to witness that terrifying scene.
Seeing Sera's nod, Elana complied, letting her body be snubbed by Credence step out of the toilet without trying to see more clearly what was happening.
Left alone, Xavier's eyes again scanned Sera's deathly pale face, the man suddenly leaned over and scooped Sera's body into his sling, making Sera squeal in surprise.
"Xavier! W-how about the wound on your chest, you don't have to hold me!" Sera tried to break away, but Xavier's arm was so strong it held him back.
"Lukaku sudan is healed. You're so pale, if I don't carry you you'll pass out on the spot. Of course you don't want to fall side by side with that corpse and get splashed with blood on the floor, do you?" Xavier replied in a chillingly cold voice, making Sera buy, then closed her eyes as the shadow about the corpse under her feet made her stomach churn uncontrollably, exposed to a heartless bout of nausea.
Xavier of course noticed that when his eyes saw Sera's paled expression and the woman's moving hand covered her mouth. By then, they were almost out of the boutique room and moving towards the elevator that would take them down.
“You want to vomit? We need to go back to the toilet so you can throw up there?” then he asked without feeling.
Glassy eyes widened, at once he shook his head in panic, forged a terrifying terror.
This man knew that the cause of his nausea was the blood-soaked corpse lying on the floor of the toilet, how could Xavier offer him to go back to that toilet? Did Xavier's soul really die so that the figure of the corpse with the life he took out did not disturb his conscience at all?
Xavier's eyes narrowed, watching Sera who was refusing half hysterically closely. When they got to the front of the elevator and his hand pressed the elevator button, Xavier asked.
“Can you keep your vomit down later?”
Sera nodded her head quickly in response. It was better for her to endure the nausea in a half-dead torment, than to have to go back to that toilet room.
Seeing Sera's nod, without Xavier's voice stepping into the open elevator door, the man stayed there, not inviting Sera to talk because he knew that Sera was unable to speak.
The elevator ride down was supposed to be short, but somehow for Sera, it felt like a long time. His stomach grew increasingly uncontrollable, attacking him mercilessly with his entrails climbing up through the trunk of his throat, impatient to jump out of it.They crossed the lobby of the shopping center as fast as lightning, he said, ignoring the inquisitive gaze of the people who were staring dazedly towards an extraordinarily handsome man who was carrying a woman out of the elevator.
Once they reached the exit of the shopping center lobby, a car was waiting there.Xavier opened the car door, put Sera into the passenger cabin and followed into it, in an instant, the car drove towards the hospital as Xavier told his driver in a firm tone of voice earlier.
“Do you want to vomit? There are paper bags around here.” Xavier's hand moved in search of a small drawer under his seat. The man took out the paper bag in question, then handed it to Sera.
Sera who directly leaned her body against the back of the chair and raised her head in fatigue as soon as she entered the car, received the paper bag weakly. His eyes were still closed, not daring to open them because when he had tried to open them, his eyes were twitching and nausea struck him back violently.
“Just spit it out for relief,” Xavier gave a suggestion in a concerned tone. His hands moved to reveal Sera's messy hair covering her face, then gently rubbed the cold sweat that was pouring out there.
Sera shook her head hard. His eyes were still closed and he sighed many times, struggling to calm his still unwilling stomach that gave up and churned. He had already looked so weak and helpless in front of Xavier all this time, there would be no addition to his faint impression in the eyes of the man with vomiting before him.
Xavier himself chose not to impose his will, the man clearly realized how difficult the situation Sera was currently facing. Therefore, he chose to be silent, cross and lean on the back of the chair while looking straight ahead, while waiting until Sera could calm down.
A long time later, when they were about to reach the hospital, Sera could finally let out a long sigh as the upheaval in her stomach subsided, turning into insignificant little ripples and still being able to control.
Xavier certainly immediately realized that. The man thrust a bottle of mineral water near Sera, offering gently.
“Are you able to drink?” tanyanya.
Sera finally ventured to open her eyes. He heaved a sigh of relief after his nausea completely faded. He placed the paper bag in his hand onto the bench and received the bottle from Xavier's hand.
“Thank you,” Sera replied in a raucous voice. He swallowed the contents of the bottle with thirst, soaking his dry throat.
“Are you no longer nauseous?” Xavier asked again to be sure.
Sera nodded her head. As long as he closes all his memories of the incident, then he will not be nauseous again.
“A-I'm fine,” replied Sera then tried to convince.
Xavier nodded his head. “Then, we can talk now.” Xavier's voice when he spoke then sounded cold, as if what they were about to talk about was not pleasing to his heart.
Sera looked up her head, staring at Xavier with a hint of fear.
“What do you want to talk about?”Xavier turned his head, looking at Sera sharply.
“You can certainly guess who sent the hit man to harm you, right?” ask her with a tone full of irony.
Sera frowned at the almost accusatory question. His mouth opened to impulsively defend himself.
“I don't know. What do you mean by saying I must have known?”
Xavier thins his lips. “I got a phone call from Dimitri at the right time that informed Aaron's movements secretly which was successfully revealed by his information network. Aaron sent the hit man to harm you.”
Sera's eyes widened in surprise. A gasp sounded from his throat, while disbelief seemed to fill him.
Xavier broke down the smile cynically. “Maybe here we consider our affair with Aaron is finished, but not so with Aaron's side. He still holds a grudge against me.” Xavier moved his hand to touch Sera's chin, forcing the woman to face him. “Aaron has successfully acquired the entire wealth of the Dawn family in Russia, it makes it into the ranks of influential rich people there. With that money, he made a kind of competition that he spread in the underground world where all the hit men were looking for lucrative paid jobs. The money offered by Aaron is so tempting, that it makes everyone make you his target. But, not to be killed.”
Sera's voice was stuck in her throat when she was finally able to defeat the shock that shook her to then ask.
“Not killed? Then...what is the purpose of Aaron's contest?”
Xavier's eyes glanced towards Sera's stomach at a glance, his expression turning into a gloomy and terrifying dark.
“She's after the baby in your womb,” she replied later in a furious tone.
Sera again gasped. His hands reflexively moved to hug his stomach.
“Enharing my baby?” tanyanya.
Xavier nodded his head. The man grinned furiously.
“Aaron wants to finish the baby in your womb, but he doesn't want to kill you.” Xavier's eyes lit up by flickers of anger that were preparing to burn. “Didn't you feel happy? Apparently Aaron decided that he still wanted you, but not with the baby in your womb. The bullet fired by the assassin was a special bullet filled with poison that had to be fired into your stomach so that it could induce excessive contractions in your uterus and cause you to miscarry.”
Aaron wants? What does Xavier mean? Hasn't it been since the harsh words he had spoken to Sera when the man returned to Russia, that it was clear Aaron expressed hatred and disgust for him and did not want to be in contact with him again?
“Yes, Aaron wants you back to his side.” Xavier looked at Sera sharply. “One of the sounds of the competition spread by Aaron is to pay high to anyone who can make you miscarry and Aaron is willing to give a higher gift to anyone who managed to kidnap to take you to Russia. Of course Aaron thought that after you miscarried, it would be easier to take you back to Russia, because without the baby, I would most likely let you go easily.” Xavier's eyes narrowed as he examined all of Aaron's plans in his mind. “The killer who was after you was a professional assassin who became one of the ranks of assassins who were interested in the Aaron prize competition, he said, he only took the first competition to abort your womb and will probably hand over the task of kidnapping you to another partner later after you undergo medical treatment after a miscarriage, I'm sure that was the plan before I left. With the Aaron contest, it is not impossible that there will be reckless hitmen who decide to fight me for the prize money and they will come to target you.”
Xavier looked at Sera fixedly, his gaze looking cruel and heartless. “You might be happy to hear that your Aaron still wants you back by his side. But, as long as you're pregnant with my son, I won't let that happen.” Xavier paused his sentence for a moment and studied Sera's facial expression before saying a word back, “forgive me for not keeping the promise to take you to see your father. You know, because you were pregnant young, Doctor Nathan asked me to postpone taking you to the health facility where you were treated because it was risky for young pregnant women to come there. He advised me to wait until your gestational age is big enough and strong enough.”
“I understand.” Sera answered quickly, looking at Xavier curiously.
The man had said the reason for delaying bringing Sera to see her father earlier and Sera could accept the reason well, why now Xavier repeated it? What does Xavier mean by bringing his father back?
“You know, I have two promises to you in our deal. That is, I freed your father and Aaron.” Xavier did not let Sera wait for a long time and immediately spoke. “But, for now, for the sake of protecting the child in your womb, I must break one of my promises.
Sera bought, her eyes turned horrified. “A-what do you mean, Xavier?”
This incident where Xavier eliminated the killer who was after him in cold blood made Sera realize that as good as anything and as gentle as Xavier treated him, he was still a heartless ruthless killer who was very scary. Sera's heart beat as she waited for Xavier's answer to her question.
Xavier's own eyes implied a terrible anger that the man had almost never shown to Sera.
“Aaron used a contest to target my son in your stomach. Then in return I will do the same.” Xavier's gaze turned menacingly towards Sera. “For now, I will force you to be on my side and never try to betray me, Serafina Moon. Because this attitude that I will take will be the only way that you can safely go through your pregnancy and give birth safely. I was determined to release Aaron to fulfill your agreement, but now it was Aaron who started it all so don't blame me if I retaliate in full force. I'm going to announce a match-up competition to face Aaron. But of course I will not wet my own hands with his worthless blood.” Xavier grinned with a cruel expression. “I will give a reward twice the amount offered by Aaron, for anyone who can kill the man and drag his body before me.”
