"Your investigator was great to be able to trace the flow of funds from the Dawn Family to finance Serafina's education, even though Roman Dawn as the head of the family was desperately trying to cover all the things that connected her surname with Seraphina, using layers of information that are difficult to penetrate. Even so, I can confirm that Serafina Moon is not a member of the Dawn family. That way you can kill the thought that he is retaliating against you on behalf of Anastasia "Dimitri said slowly, starting the explanation.
"So he really has no blood relation with the Dawn family." Xavier concluded slowly. "In that case, why did the Dawn family pay for Serafina's education?"
"Because they want to use Seraphina as a tool to take revenge on you. Anastasia's death is a grudge that until this moment is still not avenged. The law has arrested all the abductors, mistreatment and abuse of Anastasia, but thanks to the influence of your adoptive father, Baron Night, they can't reach you who are the brains of all Anastasia's misfortunes and should be the most responsible person of all." Dimitri paused for a moment, making sure that Xavier was still listening to him. "They're still holding this indebted revenge until at least you accept the consequences of what you've done."
Xavier squinted. Even though Dimitri mentioned the exact reason that Xavier had deserved the Dawn family's revenge, but still his conscience was completely unmoved.
Indeed, he did not intend to make Anastasia suffer such a terrible torture that then prompted the woman to commit suicide. His initial intention was to order the criminals to teach Anastasia a lesson by kidnapping, then photographing her in obscene conditions which were then spread to ruin her reputation. Unfortunately, what happens then is out of his control, all moving into unexpected paths until finally, one incident alone can finally damage the path of many people's lives without being stopped.
Xavier regretted that he lost control until things went awry outside of the time plan. Since then Xavier is accustomed to pay attention to all the plans he made to the smallest detail, because he does not want to experience chaos again as happened Anastasia case.
But, speaking of regrets, Xavier did not regret the punishment he had given Anastasia.
A traitor deserves to be punished. Without exception, without the compassion that comes from conscience.
"You didn't answer my question" Xavier said later after escaping his complicated thinking. "Why did the Dawn family finance Serafina Moon's education? And if Serafina had no connection whatsoever with the Dawn Family and Anastasia, why of all the people, was she sent to take revenge on me?"
"Maybe I mispronounced," Dimitri said in a riddle tone. "I mean, Serafina Moon may not be blood-related to the Dawn family, but indirectly, the actions you've done in the past have made them related...."
"Can you stop talking in circles and just say the point?" Xavier interrupted in anger and impatience. "You know my time is too precious to waste with you. So say it quickly so I can close this boring conversation. Because, if I lose my temper, I might destroy all the antidotes to your poison available in my lab."
"Stop threatening me. Otherwise, I'd rather withhold this information as a guarantee of my life's security!" Dimitri sounded riled at Xavier's words and tried to bluff.
Unfortunately, Dimitri's bluff was of no use to Xavier. He knew that his position now had the upper hand. However Dimitri tried to fight it, it was Xavier who held the antidote and determined whether Dimitri could live safely and fully recover from the effects of the poison, or even end up dying horribly from being gnawed at by the poison without an antidote.
"You think your information is so valuable? I used you because you could be used. If you die, I won't lose much. But you're the one who's gonna lose. You must have realized that many of your enemies in Russia wanted your death, right? Even from your own circles today many want to take your position because of the failures and failures that you do, making them all think that you are not becus. If you die, they'll thank me and be happy to help me."
Dimitri. It would be a big mistake if he were to argue with Xavier. His opponents were as slick as snakes and had no conscience. If Dimitri is wrong to take a step, it is not impossible that he will lose as Xavier said.
"All right, listen to me." Dimitri lowered his tone, knowing that for this time he had to suppress his pride to the lowest possible, at least until he obtained the antidote to exterminate until it depleted the poison currently lodged in his body. "Serafina Moon is the daughter of Salvatore Moon, you may know her by the name of Salva Torez only. Salva accidentally hides his surname because his dangerous job leads him to keep his family away from his world. You remember him, don't you? If not, let me refresh your memory. He's an underworld criminal you hired to lead Anastasia's abduction mission."
Xavier's stunned. Surprise could not be prevented from crawling his body. Of all the wild conjectures he could think of, he never expected that the truth was that one....
"If Serafina is Salva Torez's son, what's he after me for?" Xavier involuntarily muttered the question sentence to himself, making Dimitri who was on the other side instantly inflamed.
"God! You are a pathetic selfish human being, Xavier! Do you not even care about the fate of Salva Torez who became the victim of your crimes? He was arrested, served a lengthy trial on death row and was eventually sentenced to life in prison. His wife, Serafina's mother, used various means to save her husband, even to the point of pleading at the feet of Anastasia's father who had announced the prize money for anyone who could finish Salva Torez in prison. You know what's going on? Roman Dawn was willing to withdraw the prize-killing contest, even guaranteeing Salva Torez's safety in prison, on the condition that Salva Torez's daughter be handed over to them as bail. A daughter is replaced with a daughter, it's a fair deal."
Dimitri paused on the long, long, continuous sentence, taking time to breathe, while ensuring that Xavier could digest his entire sentence without missing the slightest detail.
When Xavier said nothing, Dimitri reconnected, "Mother Serafina agreed to the deal. She hands Serafina into the hands of the Dawn family as a hostage to ensure the safety of her husband's life. Serafina got into the clutches of the Dawn family at her young age, and she was indoctrinated like a robot to attack you in the future for the benefit of the Dawan family. But, in my opinion, without having to be doctrinated, he himself already has a good reason to finish you off."
"What do you mean?" Xavier finally made a sound while thinning his tension-filled lips.
"Roman Dawn is very cunning, he did fulfill his promise not to send people to finish off Salva Torez, but he bribed prison officials to create a riot in prison by targeting Salva Torez as a target. One of the criminals hit and beat Salva Torez on purpose, creating fatal wounds to the head and body that put him in a coma. Later, though finally rescued, Salva Torez awoke in a daze and was completely paralyzed to date. Then about Serafina herself...."
Dimitri cleared his throat for a moment before continuing, "Do you think, the son of a criminal who broke into the rich family's house as a hostage, going to live a life like a princess to replace the daughter of a rich family who has died? No, Xavier, it's all just happening in the fairytale world. Serafina Moon was taken to Russia in secret by Anastasia's mother, where she lived a nightmarish life after entering the Dawn family. Anastasia's mother used it as an outlet for anger whenever the opportunity arose. He was kicked, beaten, mistreated and forced to do heavy work throughout the day, left starving and suffering physically and mentally by Anastasia's mother. While Roman Dawn ignored all that, she focused on forcing Serafina to achieve the highest academic grades to keep up with your genius so that she could enter your circle of association in the future."
Dimitri's voice sounded disgusted as he continued, as if the information he was about to convey was in violation of his code of conscience. "Reports I've been getting from witnesses who are former workers at the Dawn house, they even gave brainwashing sessions every day by making Serafina spend several hours of her time in a terrible room that on all sides of the wall and floor mounted a large photo of Anastasia's corpse. He was forced to look at the photos of Anastasia's scarred corpse, which he had, even a photo of Anastasia's body was taken by police while her body was still hanging from the ceiling of a hospital room in terrible condition after hanging herself. All that to make him realize that you are a dangerous vile enemy that must be hated."
Dimitri stopped his sentence and frowned confusedly because there was no sound from his interlocutor.
"Are you still listening?" Dimitri asked curiously.
Silent for a moment, then Xavier finally made a sound, "Forward," he muttered briefly.
"alright. Here's core. I said that Anastasia need not be an excuse for Serafina to take revenge on you. He has his own reasons. Her biological mother who was separated from her was forbidden to see her, but somehow the story that Serafina had been tortured could reach her mother's ears and abuse her with guilt. Because it was not strong to live it, Serafina's mother committed suicide a few years later." Dimitri sharpened his tone. "That's it, Xavier. You are the main source of Serafina's suffering. You mired his father into an undead, you killed his mother, and you gave him up to a cruel family who tortured him mentally and physically. So, congratulations! Right now that you're facing your own self-created revenge machine, I really hope that Serafina Moon manages to do her job because you deserve it."
"Where are we going, sir?"
Xavier's driver who was sitting behind the wheel finally ventured to slightly glance back towards his master, who even fell silent as if daydreaming since getting into the back seat of the passenger while carrying a girl who was absent in her cradle.
Xavier, who was busy staring at Sera's innocent-looking face in that unconsciousness, immediately blinked his eyes when he heard the driver's words.
He had drowned in daydreams due to the information given by Dimitri earlier to forget to give instructions to his driver.
If Xavier is alone, without being ordered, the driver will immediately drive Xavier home without asking. But now that Xavier was carrying a woman in his arms, it was clear that the driver was hesitant.
Because, Xavier could have decided to take this woman to the execution warehouse in the suburbs, he said, like his master used to do when he brought his enemies who could never get out alive from that place, right?
"To the house," he ordered in a firm tone that made the driver immediately run his car following Xavier's orders.
Xavier's head bowed again, and his eyes were fixed again staring at Sera's face. The information he got from Dimitri, once again flipping through the impression that was built by Xavier's mind to describe the self-image of Sera.
Knowing that she was the cause of all the suffering that Sera endured made this woman finally be here, in front of her and prepared for revenge, inexplicably making Xavier's heart seem squeezed by the invisible force present to give him condemnation.
Xavier is not evil-hearted from birth. Despite having advantages and abilities far greater than normal humans, Xavier was still a human. One of the things that distinguishes between humans and animals is that humans are equipped with the mind and conscience.
As a human being, naturally Xavier also had a conscience embedded into his soul.
It is this conscience that was turned off by Xavier in the past, because guilt must always arise when there are lives that are uprooted and make his hands covered with blood. To suppress his conscience from stirring up, Xavier finally made a rule for himself, namely that he would only punish those who commit crimes and betray.
This woman, even though she has not yet acted, must have planned to betray her and someday will also betray her.
Then, what should Xavier do to this woman? Did he just wait while closing his eyes, pretending to be stupid until the woman finally stabbed him in the back and punished him? Or is he better off punishing the woman now, because really, just an intention, is already deserving of punishment?
Suddenly a smile appeared on Xavier's lips, a kind of merciless cruel smile that emerged from the bottom of his soul.
Well, maybe he doesn't need to punish Sera now, but he doesn't mind playing around with Sera.
This girl was completely unaware that her position was now like a blind mouse approaching the tail of a snake and biting it, thinking that the snake was small, worth it and could be resisted. The rat was not aware that the snake it bit had a large body and a head that was lurking silently, ready to prey.
His head hurt a lot.
When the consciousness greeted Sera, that was what immediately crossed her mind.
It was as if there was a hammer with a sharp tip that hit his skull from within, creating an imaginary sound that was pounding loudly, he said, roaring inside his head cavity and hurting him so strongly that Sera's hand had to be raised to massage his temple in an attempt to relieve his pain.
Sera tried to open her eyes, but the sunlight that broke through the glass window with the curtain open instantly grabbed her eyeballs, forcing her to instantly shut back.
Sera took a deep breath to prepare herself, then she opened her eyes again. This time he opened his eyes slowly so as not to hurt his eyes again.
Somehow his condition when he woke up this morning was really bad, his head hurt and his eyes became sensitive like a vampire who was not strong in the sunlight.
What exactly is going on?
Sera's mind was too foggy that when she tried to pull back the flow of time in her memory, the pain in her head was even more agonizing, forcing her to stop....
"Slow down, Sera. Don't force yourself."
The voice was initially faint and Sera thought that she was just dreaming. But then, as his conscious mind realized whose voice it was, Sera's entire body immediately gasped and she immediately opened her eyes, no longer feel the sting of pain due to the sunlight that fiercely directly flocked his eyeballs.
The sight before his eyes made Sera blink as if in disbelief. As fast as lightning he circulated his eye surveillance around the room. His heart was beating with fear when he scanned everything and realized that he did not know all parts of this white room.
His eyes were glued back towards Xavier who was looking at him while putting on a meaningful smile, making the blood seem to recede from his head until his face turned deathly pale.
What the hell's going on? Where is she? Why is Xavier here?
