Xavier's body was so heavy, it hit Sera that it almost fell to the floor. Luckily Sera managed to rewind the step until the back of his knee touched the edge of the bed, which could be a support for his legs so as not to fall over Xavier's body.

The man completely lost consciousness, helpless, completely leaned back and thrust his weight onto Sera's body. Therefore, it took a hard struggle for Sera to support Xavier.

When at last his legs were shaking and his body was about to collapse to the bed, Sera again shouted as loudly as possible, trying to reach the hearing senses of the bodyguards guarding the outside of his room.

His screams were not in vain, the door opened and two bodyguards entered anxiously. Their eyes widened when they saw their master slipping on his wife's body, they immediately moved closer and swiftly helped, grabbed Xavier's body and helped lay the man on the bed of the nursery.

One of the bodyguards rushed to press the emergency button to call the paramedics into the treatment room, and as if that wasn't enough, the bodyguards were also moving out, pick up the medical team on the other floor.

Sera herself sat on the edge of the bed, trying to neutralize her gasping breath, her eyes staring at Xavier who was lying deathly pale, with blood stains reddening on her face.

The man looked so pale as white as paper, that it was as if the breath of his life had gradually faded away, drifting away about to leave his body.

Sera widened, instantly trying to get rid of the terrifying shadow that just flashed through her mind. Forgetting his breath still panting, Sera forced himself to stand up, then took a basin of metal material available on the nightstand next to the bed before then filling it with warm water from the sink, then, he grabbed a small towel on his way back to Xavier, then he sat on the edge of the bed, this time close to the man's head which was silent and motionless.

Sera then rubbed the towel it cleaned Xavier's face. His hands trembled when he felt how cold the surface of Xavier's skin was. At that moment, Sera could not hold back her tears. He sobbed, rubbing the bloodstains on Xavier's face while shedding uncontrollable tears.

All the sadness, the fear of loss, the guilt, all of it was mixed with the love he had just realized and did not dare to express, he said, buried in his chest and tormenting like fire in a husk that suffocates his breath.

Sera wanted to say a word, whispering to Xavier to wake him up, she wanted to see those eyes open staring at him. He wants Xavier to be okay.

The door of the treatment room was wide open and Nathan's doctor immediately entered the room with a gasp for breath, apparently the man happened to be on duty on the other floor of this hospital and ran around when he got the call.

Doctor Nathan's eyes were fixed on Xavier before changing towards Sera. The man stepped closer, then placed his fingers on Sera's shoulders and gently squeezed them to calm the crying woman.

“They will take you to another room. Rest and calm yourself there. I will handle Xavier first,” he said gently despite containing an indisputable command.

Sera slid the blanket over her body and curled up on the bed. Meanwhile, his eyes were staring at the door of his treatment room, counting in an infinite number as he waited for it to open and someone came up with good news for him.

Not knowing how long Sera had waited, she had already lost her censorship on the passage of time. But it felt as if he had wiped out the rest of his life for a long wait.

His head hurt and his chest felt increasingly tight because of anxious expectations that never got certainty. It felt like he was squandering out and finding out, but he understood that he would just be annoying.

Sera could not close her eyes for a second, kept on poring, kept counting. Until finally, when the door opened, he could not help his body that immediately jumped to sit with anticipation, flooded with adrenaline.

Doctor Nathan was glued to the doorway, staring at Sera who was half-leaping down and looking at him with wide eyes expectantly. A gentle smile immediately fell on Doctor Nathan's lips when he finally stepped into the room where Sera was while putting on a calm shady expression.

“Do not move suddenly, you must not forget that you are pregnant young,” said doctor Nathan then as he pulled the chair and dragged it closer to the edge of the bed. “How are you doing? Do you keep waking up and not have time to rest since? It must have been a shock for you to see Xavier in such worst condition?”

“I'm fine, doctor.” Sera snatches quickly and deliberately does not answer Nathan's doctor's questions, she knows for sure that at this time it should not be her condition that is a priority to pay attention to. “B-how is Xavier doing?”

Doctor Nathan let out a long breath. “Xavier has received a blood transfusion, he has received the best treatment that can be given and is now resting. He will be fine... for now.”.

“For now?” Sera's back snatched. The hesitation placed on the tone of doctor Nathan's voice at the end of his sentence left him inundated with anxiety. “What do doctors mean by the word ‘for currently’? Will he not be okay for the future?”

Nathan's gaze looked sharp, piercing to Sera to the depths of her heart.

“You certainly know that Xavier is not okay. To deal with aplastic anemia, his biochemical company developed a type of drug that can stimulate the formation of blood cells in his body. The drug is effective, making Xavier can survive without having to undergo blood transfusions continuously and make it can look like a healthy human and able to move like a healthy human as well. However, even though the medicine gave a good instant result, its side effects also damaged his body and reduced Xavier's lifespan. It was as if he was wasting his lifespan in order to get a short period of time in a healthy body condition instead. You understand what I mean?” Doctor Nathan stopped his sentence, narrowed his eyes and looked at Sera with a cautious look.

Sera nodded her head despite the shock of controlling her. He did hear that Xavier was taking the drug. However, he did not expect that the drug Xavier consumed was a dangerous drug that shortened his life span.

“K-why did Xavier choose to take the drug? Isn't that reducing his lifespan?” Sera asked Nathan's doctor to confirm the conclusion in his mind.

Doctor Nathan let out a long breath. “Because Xavier did not intend to live long, so he chose to maximize the condition of his body even though the time is short.” Doctor Nathan watched Sera with a piercing look. “Genesis that occurred recently, also made Xavier forced himself, so he was encouraged to consume the drug excessively in order to pass the schedule of blood transfusions. Xavier forgot, that chemical drugs always carry side effects that make his pain more severe and he should still follow his transfusion schedule properly.” Doctor Nathan let out a long sigh, as if running out of ways to deal with the stubbornness of his patients regarding his own health. “But take it easy, I've handled Xavier. She's sleeping now.”

Sera nodded her head. Somehow a beam of guilt immediately came to him without being held back. The man must have been preoccupied with Aaron's case so that he was self-excavating and taking his medicine with a dose that was more than he should have been, thus even making him collapse later.

All of those things, caused by Sera as the tip of the base.

Doctor Nathan himself immediately realized the guilt on Sera's face. Even so, he did not have time to give his consolation to the woman. Right now, he had the opportunity to speak to Sera openly, heart to heart. There was something important to ask Sera, regarding Xavier's safety, and that was her priority.

“Regarding your baby's placenta, you've also heard that Xavier doesn't want to take it, right?” ask Dr. Nathan later.

Sera nodded her head. “Yes. Xavier told me his intention. She wants to save the placenta for her children later in life.”

“Sera. I want you to talk to Xavier, it doesn't mean here I want to rule out your children's condition. Aplastic anemia can indeed be genetic and if indeed Xavier carries it in his genetic makeup, then most likely your children could have the same disease. However, I still consider the small possibility of it happening, because, because, xavier's trigger for aplastic anemia was when he had an accident a few years ago that left him exposed to toxic chemicals that left his body structurally damaged to the point where his body was not able to produce enough blood cells to meet the needs of his own body.” Doctor Nathan cleared his throat, giving a pause so that Sera gets a chance to digest the long explanatory sentence well. “Although someday, it turns out that aplastic anemia was passed down genetically to your children – even if I didn't expect it to happen - still their chances are greater because they have relatives with each other and can donate bone marrow to each other back for their brother. But Xavier's case is different, he has no brother or blood relative, he's a kara and the only donor almost perfectly matched with him is from your baby's placental stem cells.”

Doctor Nathan thinned his lips, then his hand moved to grab Sera's hand and clasped it, overstepping all boundaries to explain his point. “Please Sera, only you can do it. If you want Xavier to stay alive, then persuade him to accept the stem cells from your children for himself.”

Nathan's words echo in the air, like the closing words of the storyteller on a theater stage that hypnotizes hundreds of spectators. The same thing happened in this room, silence was instantly created when Sera was finally able to string together all the things that had happened in her life lately.

Sera thinned her lips, retaining the emotion of sadness that was tucked into the spark of anger in her soul.

The man planted his seed in Sera's body, leaving behind his genetic imprint that would grow into a free individual, their two children, and then leave? How could Sera let Xavier choose to leave so easily, leaving behind the traces she left without guilt?

“Can I see Xavier?” Sera finally broke that silent without a sound, making the doctor Nathan who looked preoccupied with his own thoughts slightly gasp before then releasing his hand grip from Sera's hand.

Doctor Nathan immediately glanced at his watch awkwardly. It was almost five in the morning. The man watched Sera and frowned.

“You haven't slept at all, have you? It was early in the morning, and Xavier was also currently fast asleep due to the effect of the medicine I had given him. Would it not be better to rest your body first and sleep, only tomorrow after Xavier wakes up, you meet him?” Doctor Nathan turned his gaze to Sera's stomach and continued saying, “Don't forget that you are pregnant. A mother who is pregnant should have enough rest time for the development of her baby.” Doctor Nathan pushed back his chair and left. “I'm sorry I interrupted your break. Go to bed, see you tomorrow morning.”

“No, Doctor.” Sera called quickly before Nathan's doctor stepped away. “Please, I want to see Xavier now.”

Doctor Nathan halted his steps, looking at Sera while frowning.

“Xavier is sleeping, he won't know if you're coming. Besides, you need to sleep too..”.

“I know, I will not disturb Xavier's rest, I just want to see it,” sela Sera then with a pleading tone.

Doctor Nathan pensively pondered, his eyes watching Sera before saying a word later.

“Do you promise to sleep after?” slowly tanyanya.

Sera nodded her head. “In Xavier's treatment room, there's a big sofa bed like here, isn't there? There are blankets available as well. I guess.. I'll sleep there,” he replied slowly, trying to negotiate.

Doctor Nathan was seen weighing again, but the man could certainly see the light of stubbornness emanating from Sera's face. Finally, Nathan's doctor decided to nod his head and give his permission.

“Alright then,” he said give permission. “Can you get up and walk on your own? Or do you need a wheelchair?”

“I'm fine.” Excitedly Sera took her foot out of the bed, she stood up and walked towards the doctor Nathan who could not help but smile at the woman's determination.

“Come, I will take you to the Xavier treatment room,” he said later as he stepped ahead of Sera out of the room.
