Samantha Dawn strangled him.
Sera widened her eyes, looked in surprise and looked towards the glaring Samantha Dawn while clutching her two wrinkled hands to Sera's neck, trying to cut off her airway.
The old woman looked like a madman in Sera's eyes. His grayish-white hair that was usually neatly combed in that elegant style now seemed to be unraveled in disarray, most of it falling over his sinister grinning face, as if content to see Sera bulging life.
"You should be the one who died!"
Samantha Dawn cried out hysterically, with her signature raucous and hateful roar, shrinking the expression of her heart that she always shouted at Sera as the old woman was furious and beating her as an outlet.
The sentence was too often spit out to Sera that Sera even began to think of it as a winning curse spell worthy of her acceptance.
"My son Anastasia should be alive! You should be the one who died! You're the one who died! You're the one who died!"
The sound of screaming blared, while Sera squirmed as her lungs seemed to be about to explode, the tightness of the dead end could not circulate the air, and the pain instantly spread, as she felt, from the chest then crept all over the body with a terrible piercing blow that whipped all over his body without exception.
He deserved to die. He's useless. He couldn't save his life. He couldn't save his mother's life...
Sera's body, which had been struggling, thrashed in the middle of the giggling of the two hands of Samantha who occupied her body, finally squeezed, resigned, surrendered and wanted to give up.
But he has not avenged Xavier.
The evil man is the cause of all the successive catastrophes that have befallen his family, keeping him separated from his parents, making his father helplessly invalid and a hostage to his freedom, making his mother commit suicide because it can not stand the bitterness that whack, and make Sera experience terrible torture throughout her life, and is restrained by the revenge and threat of the Dawn Family to date.
He can't die yet!
With the strength coming from his soul, Sera raised her hand, she grabbed Samantha's hand that was strangling her, then pulled it with all her might to release her strangulation from Sera's neck.
Trial succeeded. The hand slipped off and Sera pushed Samantha's body away, while she inhaled a strong breath of air to be pumped into her lungs that had been locked by force.
Sera's eyes then opened wide, this time completely open in the virtual world.
He instantly stared at the ceiling of his room, while confusion still enveloped his mind, making it foggy and lost its way to distinguish between dreams and reality.
The shadow of Samantha suffocating him to the point of asphyxiation... Is it all a dream?
But it all felt real, even his breath was tight...
Sera frowned when a low boisterous voice sounded faintly in her ears. It was like the sound of many people shouting and talking at one time at the same time.
The longer after his consciousness became clearer, the crowded voice was heard more clearly and loudly.
His voice from the front of his house?
Filled with curiosity, Sera rushed up from her sleeping position, jumping out of bed and immediately gasp when he realizes what makes his airway so tormented that it makes him a nightmare like being strangled by Samantha Dawn.
A fire?
The oxygen around him is very thin, all mixed with the results of the smoke billowing black and coming from outside his room. The black smoke seemed to be unobstructed, looking for all sorts of ways to reach Sera's airway, as if wanting to wrap her up in a torturous death.
Filled with shock that left his body riveted, Sera could only widen staring at the black smoke that had nimbly managed to pierce through the air ventilation holes, the crevices of the door, and the, and keep trying to infiltrate through all the paths that can be passed. Judging from the thick billowing smoke, one could already imagine the magnitude of the fire engulfing his house outside his room.
God, why is there such a big fire in his house?
This house, though simple and small, was the legacy of his maternal grandfather. Perhaps from his job at a large company that received him based on his qualifications and qualified intelligence, Sera received a lot of money as his income. However, all the money was taken by Roman Dawn without mercy and left little for the cost of eating and daily life Sera.
The reason for the savings is one of the things that caused Sera to choose to live alone in a tiny house in a housing that is only inhabited by these elderly people. But Sera did not do it by force. He is happy and happy to live here. Sera loved this small and simple hide, where her mother used to grow up and the warmest place that was the most pleasant even when compared to a much larger house.
But now.fires have scorched this house….
Sera's entire room was already filled with a terrifying black fog, like a shadow of death ready to suffocate her life. The difference this time, all is not a dream, if Sera does not manage to save herself, she will really be out of breath and die.
Sera blinked, her survival instinct finally managed to free herself from the limelight and made her think quickly to find a way out.
The air began to fill with a chest-stifling black fog, making Sera cough as the smoke began to flow through her throat and making her breathing path feel painful and hot. Sera took the thin cloth that covered the surface of the little nightstand next to her bed, then deliberately spilled a glass of water over the cloth and covered the wet cloth to her mouth.
There was a large window on one side of her room that led straight to the front of her house.
At this time, although the thick smoke had soared into the air up to the ceiling of the house accompanied by the heat that followed him, Sera was sure that she was definitely able to reach that window.
With determined footsteps, Sera immediately ran over, ignoring her grievous eyes and her chest tight to the heat. He almost got near that window when a loud voice rang out from outside.
“Retreat! We will break this window!”
The instruction sounded so firm that without a second thought Sera immediately complied. Then, without waiting for an answer from Sera, a loud hitting sound came from out there.
It took some time until the people outside Sana were successful, and Sera who was waiting while standing in panic, started to feel her lungs as if they were burning and her breathing started to run out.
Sera pressed firmly against the wet cloth in her mouth, while her eyes began to water and her eyes twitched.
Then, along with the sound of a loud punch that was somehow for the umpteenth time, which was accompanied by fragments of hot glass scattering and a window iron trellis that was released from its hinges, the, Sera was unable to maintain her consciousness to keep her brain awake.
His body collapsed, his gaze darkened, and the only thing he remembered before he fainted completely was when the dark silhouettes of humans pierced through the thick smoke and enveloped him.
When Xavier entered the room, his eyes immediately stared at Sera who was lying helplessly on the hospital bed.
The woman's eyes were tightly closed while there were some scratches on her pale skin that were rendered antiseptic with a striking color that looked contrasting on her skin. White bandages for burns or more severe glass incision wounds also appear on the hands and sides of the forehead.
The rest, no more injuries.
Xavier scans Sera's entire self and inexplicably feels an unexpected feeling of relief infiltrating her soul.
The rescuers he sent were a little late to get Sera out of the house. They did not consider that the iron trellis that was in the window of the ancient house was embedded so strongly and made of very sturdy dead iron. That's why they had a little trouble breaking the window.
Fortunately, despite the stumbling, they managed to make it in time to save Sera who had fainted from running out of oxygen.
The sound of a door opening behind him made Xavier turn his head in alarm. But his tense expression loosened when he saw Nathan who was there.
“It turns out you're here. I'm looking for you to talk about this woman's condition,” Nathan said with a stiff expression.
Xavier threw his gaze towards Sera who was still unconscious, then the man turned his body and approached Nathan, taking him out of the room.
“Let's talk outside,” she said quickly and led the way out of that treatment room.
“The woman inhaled too much fire smoke and was injured on the surface of her skin by flakes of hot glass, and there were also some minor burns on her body. That'sallthatis. The rest he's okay.” Nathan, still irritated by Xavier's sudden call-up to deal with one of the victims of the midnight fire, looked up at Xavier with a suspicious look. “You specifically asked me to handle it. Serafina Moon's. Who is he?”
Xavier glanced at the door of the sealed room where Sera was being treated, then returned Nathan's suspicious gaze with a defensive attitude.
“Not your business,” the answer is short.
Nathan clicked his mouth while raising an eyebrow. “You've never been involved with a woman before,” Nathan's head lowered and he squinted when reading the patient status report. Fire victims in a densely populated settlement were fortunately extinguished before eating dozens of homes belonging to innocent humans. There were only two houses on fire and injured. There were no casualties.
After reading the report, Nathan raised his head back and stared at Xavier in horror. “Did you cause this fire to happen?”
Nathan could guess exactly. Xavier is as ruthless as Akram. If the two brothers want to eliminate evidence or achieve an extreme goal, they will not hesitate to burn down the entire settlement if necessary.
When Xavier's expression turned even grim and the man did not answer, Nathan glanced at Serafina's room being treated with caution.
“You burned everything to obliterate witnesses and evidence? Is that victim in there your potential victim you want to kill?” nathan's expression turned serious. “I would never care about your business, even if you kill your enemies. However, there should be no intentional homicide in this hospital let alone in the patients under my supervision. You know I'm a doctor, right? My job is to save lives, not eliminate them. If you are about to commit premeditated murder here, then I will prevent it,” Nathan threatened firmly.
Xavier put on a bored expression listening to Nathan's long sentence. The man thins his lips.
“I'm not going to kill a witness. He, Sera, is my personal assistant. Where could I kill him?” sahut Xavier.
“Your assistants or not, they are all inseparable from your assassination target. Did you forget that your last personal assistant died in your hands?” sahut Nathan with a denouncing tone.
Xavier shook his hand. “He's traitor. Traitors deserve to die. That's a different case.
”“I will not interfere with any of your horrible methods of murder and the reasons for it. However, burning a densely populated settlement is a reckless attitude. Have you never thought about the loss of life of an innocent person who might have taken his life because of this?” nathan was a little angry.
Xavier is terrible, but as a doctor who prioritizes the safety of human life as his code of conduct, he felt he had to warn Xavier so that this kind of –act of playing around with human lives-not to be repeated again in the future.
Xavier crossed his arms, leaned his body casually against the wall, then stared at Nathan in a mocking manner.
“Was that time you also this angry at Akram when he burned down Elana's rented house to erase the trace of the woman?” xavier's lips snared a faint smile as he noticed the shock in Nathan's eyes while listening to his question. “Yes, of course I know. When I went after Elana first, I did a thorough investigation of her. There is nothing that my investigators cannot know, not even information that has been destroyed or buried deeply though, I must have found it.”
“I just found out about the fire after it happened. But if I had known it before, my attitude would have remained the same, I would have tried to prevent it because I had never agreed to any action to play a game of human life.” Nathan clenched his hands. “Akram makes sure the entire population is safe that night. There was only one death and it was a fake Elana whose body was bought from an unnamed corpse in this hospital. He also compensated a huge amount in the form of donations from nameless donors. The people who were the victims even thanked the fire,” furious Nathan defended Akram.
“Then, I will do the same with Akram. Those who are victims will receive multiple damages that they will be very grateful for. Do not impose double standards. Nathan. Praising one's actions because he is your friend, but denouncing the other's actions just because he is your enemy,” Xavier raises his chin in a haughty manner. “Now, you better stop taking care of my business and do your job as a doctor. I want you to make sure that my would-be assistant is healthy and fine, so that I can take her home to my house.”
Nathan paused for a moment, digesting Xavier's sentence, then finally decided to compromise and not prolong their debate. He then restored the realm of conversation regarding the female patient currently inside the treatment room.
“That woman, if she is indeed your personal assistant and you have no malicious intentions towards her.. I think you need to know this..” Nathan stopped her speech, looking doubtful.
Xavier's body was vertical and he became alert.
“What's up?” tanyanya fast.
"I don't usually care what happened in the past to my patients. But this one, it bothers me a little. X-rays showed that his ribs had been broken on several sides, as well as on his wrists and shins.” Nathan frowned, as if uncomfortable with this conversation. “And also, when the medical team combed the surface of his skin to scan if there were any burn marks on his body, I noticed there was a deep scar on the surface of his back skin, which despite being bleached and faded, was, it was still visible from the eyes of a doctor like me. It was. like a torture scar. I think the woman has been flogged so many times in her youth that her marks are deeply embedded in her skin and cannot be lost.”
The first thing he woke up was his sense of smell.
He craves a pleasant aroma, citrus aroma combined with soft sandalwood and a slight stroke of a thin vanilla aroma whose sensation is only just smelled afterwards.
Sera blinked her eyes and opened them slowly, and her eyes were immediately glued to the white ceiling of a room bathed in sunlight.
“Happy day.”
The voice that was very recognizable by Sera immediately grabbed her auditory senses that were late on alert.Of course Sera recognized the sound.
Sera vigilantly turned her head towards the source of the voice, and her eyes immediately turned to Xavier who put a fake soft smile on her mouth, still with her beautiful angel-like appearance.
This man looked fresh and excited and Sera realized that the pleasant aroma that greeted her sense of smell in the first second when consciousness grabbed her brain was coming from this man.
Sera frowned, resenting the circle of fate that trapped her so much that she could do nothing.
Oh Gosh…. The unwanted deja vu happened again.
It seems that fate is indeed wanting to bring him to misfortune, because whatever he does, wherever he tries to avoid, fate always returns him to this evil man.
