The Essence Of The Darkness

The Essence Of The Darkness
EOTL Eps 56: A Taste of Pity

Despite being weak and sleepy, Xavier's grip on his hand was inexplicably strong. Sera himself bought, his head lowered, staring at the link of their hands. Slowly he tried to release Xavier's grip from his wrist. Unfortunately, Xavier insisted, unwilling to let go.

Frustrated, Sera raised her gaze towards Xavier again.

"What did you say?" Sera slightly raised her tone in order to penetrate Xavier's already drowsy consciousness properly. Maybe the drug messed with Xavier's consciousness to make him feel like a drunk.

Sera knew Xavier, she knew for sure that Xavier, who was fully aware, could not have asked for his sleep with him in a spoiled manner like a child.

Xavier tilted his head. His eyes that were twitching half open, looked foggy. However, his voice sounded firm when he spoke.

"I want you to sleep with me. Get on the bed." Innocent and with a huge force strangely possessed by his frail-looking body, Xavier shook Sera's wrist and pulled her towards the bed, making Sera unprepared so lost balance and fell sitting on the edge of the bed.

"Get go of my hand first," Sera complained as she glared at Xavier who wore an innocent expression. "I have to go back to my own room. Isn't it your own decision that we split rooms? You can't do the things you want with me. Ask for your bed if you need it, then throw me out of your room if you don't need it. I'm not the lowly woman you can treat all you want!"

Sera began to nag, one of her hands moving along, trying to release Xavier's stubborn grip. However, it still didn't work because Xavier was too strong. In fact, Sera's wrist started to hurt due to her attempt to forcibly break away from the man.

"Xavier!" Sera rebuked, starting to lose patience. "Let go of my hand! What exactly do you want?" Sera began to be overcome by emotions mixed with frustration.

How could someone who was drowsy and drug-influenced, have this much power to grip his hand?

Xavier's smile was on its back, as if the man had not noticed how hard Sera was trying to break away. The man even ignored Sera's angry gaze and exclamations directed at him.

"Sleep together. I want to be hugged." Xavier picked up Sera's hands which he had not yet released, then pulled her to his lips and presented a gentle kiss on the back of his hand. "Don't go, Serafina Moon," he whispered hoarsely, then his eyes began to close tightly, washed away by drowsiness.

"Xavier's? Xavier?" Sera began to panic, she shook her hands violently, trying to disturb the man deeply. Unfortunately, his efforts had to end in futility. The man slept like a rock, drowned deep, to the extent of any disturbance, meaningless to him.

Lama Sera was stunned while sitting on the edge of the bed. His eyes stared in annoyance at Xavier's tight grip, never to be missed.

What a troublesome man....

Sera continued to bathe, venting her frustration at the man in her heart, as her eyes continued to watch over Xavier. At first, he was about to get angry at the man, but when his eyes swept over Xavier who was soundly defenseless, suddenly, a sense of pity flooded him, washing away his anger to nothing.

This guy is so pale....

Although Xavier always looked tough, but Sera realized that this man had always endured pain all this time, covering him with a false veil of cheerfulness, so that his weakness would be invisible.

Sera took a long breath. Right now, there was nothing he could do as Xavier's grip was still violently shackling his wrist. He can't go anywhere.

Perhaps later, if the man really went into the deep sleep phase, his grip on Sera's hand would weaken until Sera could release herself...

Unknowingly Sera yawned. Only then did he realize that it was not just Xavier who was sleepy. He was also sleepy and exhausted. Xavier's return and the interaction between the two of them tonight, not only drained his emotions, but also exhausted Sera's physique to the point of almost reaching his limit.

Sera yawned for the second time. In the end, he chose to act foolishly, then climbed onto the bed and lowered his body into the narrow space that Xavier had left on the edge of the bed.

Luckily Sera's body was quite petite, so she could sneak her body in there and still be able to lie comfortably even though the place was narrow.

Sera closed her eyes, forgot Xavier's hand that was still tightly wrapped around her wrist, then fused herself in a drowsiness that instantly picked her up excitedly, bringing her flying into the depths of the air, put him in a good deep sleep.

It was still early in the morning when Xavier woke up from his senses, and he was stunned when he found a tiny body curled up under his arm, which he had lost, docked to his chest and clung tightly as if searching for a source of warmth there.

Xavier was indeed lying comfortably behind the thick blanket that wrapped around his body. But, Sera on the contrary, she curled up uncluttered. The woman seemed to slam her body on the bed just like that and did not have time to slip her body under the blanket because it immediately dissolved lulled drowsiness.

This morning was adorned by heavy rains that greeted the earth with a loud and impatient. The sound of his rumbling as it fell upon the earth sounded so loud, creating the strains of natural music that filled this room with magical nuances, as if they were in an isolated, middle-of- nowhere cave, separate yourself from other humans. All the imagination is still supported also by black clouds that dim the sky and fortify the sun, creating a cool atmosphere that feels peaceful in the room. Meanwhile, cold air slipped in from the slightly open window grille, rolling itself across the air and creating a cool feel in the room.

It is fitting that this woman snuggles and snuggles to him. It was his natural defensive instinct that prompted Sera to move closer to the source of warmth and in this case, Xavier was the source of that warmth.

But why did Sera sleep in her bed?

Frowning, Xavier tried to extract information from his brain that was now fully active. Although his mind was a little foggy last night due to the effects of fatigue and medicine, but still Xavier's brain's ability to visualize his memory of what happened last night was always much more powerful than ordinary humans.

Shortly after obtaining his memories clearly, Xavier immediately lowered his head, anchoring his eyes to his hand which, without him noticing, was still gripping Sera's wrist.

Xavier instantly released his grip, and his eyes instantly found a red trace on Sera's wrist surrounded by a pale white color due to lack of blood flow.

Red color like that, will usually be bruised....

Guilt instantly rattled Xavier's mind, making him regret his impulsive actions that forced Sera to stay in this room.

Xavier is still wallowing in guilt, though, but his attention was suddenly distracted when his phone - which he had placed on the nightstand next to the bed in the opposite position to the side of the bed where Sera had fallen asleep - suddenly shook in a constant tremor it indicates that someone called him.

Xavier picked up the phone immediately, not wanting the vibrations to disturb Sera. He saw the screen of the phone and his forehead wrinkled when he saw the name listed there.

Acram? Why would Akram call her blind this early?

"What's wrong?" Xavier was not stale, the man immediately snatched curiously. He knew that Akram would not have called him this early, if there was no very important and urgent reason.

"Xavier, you have to change your schedule if you want Serafina Moon and Aaron Dawn to still be able to do the haru-dye scene between two humans who say goodbye." Akram responded with a calm tone of voice, but the man had slipped a dry sense of humor in his voice.

"Are there any changes to Aaron's flight schedule back to Russia?" Xavier guessed quickly, while the frown on his forehead seemed to be deepening.

"Yes. Exact guess. The immigration authorities issued a deportation letter to Aaron and the man had to leave the country today." Akram was silent as if he was glancing at his watch across the street. "Aaron's return, which should be the day after tomorrow, was brought forward one day ahead of plan. He had already gotten a scheduled flight home later that afternoon at three o'clock "Ajenak Akram was silent again, waiting for Xavier's response across the street.

But, when there was no sound from Xavier, Akram finally asked back. "What are you gonna do?"

Xavier's voice sighed there.

"Stay with my original plan. I'll make sure Sera can meet and say goodbye to Aaron at the airport."

This time, it was Akram who sighed and when the man spoke back, his voice sounded full of irony.

"You are weak when it comes to this woman. Did you realize it?"

Xavier automatically nodded. However, when he realized that Akram could not see him, he finally said, giving his reason.

"Serafina Moon will be the mother of my children. I'll make sure she's completely free of all the burdens of her heart."

The man's voice sounded faintly through Sera's ears which were still controlled by her sleep. His body shivered in the cold and subconsciously, he further pressed himself, clinging to a source of comfortable warmth nearby. Then, felt a strong arm grab him tighter, close him closer as if to protect.

Although Sera's eyes were closed, but her consciousness had already gradually awakened. His ears were still stammering translating what his sense of hearing was grasping, so that all that was heard, was a mutter-by-murm of an obscure word.

Filled with curiosity, Sera was compelled to open her eyes and see where the source of the voice was.

His eyes widened when he noticed that he was clinging to Xavier's body, drowning in the embrace of his sturdy arm, while the man seemed to be ending the conversation through a cell phone stuck to his ear.

Xavier's eyes glanced at Sera. The man then put down his phone, and looked down, looking at Sera with a seductive look.

“Good morning. It's cold today, huh?” greet Xavier while grinning widely.

Sera's cheeks instantly turned red when she realized that it wasn't Xavier who pulled her closer, but it was Sera who voluntarily pushed her body towards the man.

Instantly, he pushed his body backwards, trying to put some distance on their closeness and toppled the body, then moved down from the bed. Sera knew that she had to put up full vigilance at the moment.

This Xavier lying on his bed was not a weak and harmless Xavier like last night. This man had fully realized and returned to being a cunning and deceitful Xavier to manipulate him.

“I was so happy when you decided to keep me company until morning. Didn't think you were that attentive to me,” Xavier said, deliberately as if to provoke Sera's anger.

And he succeeded. Enjoyed the eyes of Sera who lit up, as well as the hue of her cheeks that gushed and spread throughout the surface of her skin. In fact, Sera's breath was heard panting short, as if she was struggling so hard not to explode in front of Xavier.

Really, a nice sight to enjoy in the morning when you just wake up like this.

“A-I am not volunteering to accompany you to sleep!” Sera exclaimed, trying to explain in an angry trembling voice. “You grabbed my wrist and didn't want to let go!” Sera touched her wrist which began to feel pain with her other hand, then showed the wrist towards Xavier in an accusatory manner.

“See, this is bruised and painful.” grunts while grimacing and rubbing uncomfortable areas on the surface of his skin.

Xavier's gaze softened. Sera's current attitude even more looks like a sulking child, and that makes her happy. That's why Xavier likes to make Sera angry. Because, if Sera was angry, the woman lowered her vigilance and fear towards Xavier, then showed her true self-image.

An innocent woman who was still like a child behind the attitude of alertness and intelligence that had been polished as her outward appearance.

“I'm sorry. Maybe last night I felt insecure, so I forced you to accompany me.” Xavier spoke softly, then pointed towards the nightstand beside his bed. “I have an effective bruising medication, it speeds up the process, so your bruise can heal faster.”

Xavier's suddenly softened attitude surprised Sera and made herself go awry, not knowing how to respond. He was ready for a big fight or a hot fight. Xavier gave up just like that, even before their conflict began.

Sera's own gentle heart, helplessly rejected the offer of peace. He finally moved to sit on the edge of the bed, under Xavier's supervision, then opened the drawer from the bedside nightstand that Xavier had pointed at.

His eyes widened when he saw several boxes of bruising ointment boxes neatly arranged there. Sera's head immediately turned its head, looking at Xavier suspiciously.

“Why do you have this much bruise remover?” tanyanya.

Sera's mind had wandered everywhere. He immediately remembered the horrible stories of psychopathic men with masochistic characters he had read. Men like to torture women to cause cuts and bruises, then without guilt to give bruises and wound medicine to treat their partners. But, it was a type of toxic relationship with repeated torture. The man will continue to hurt, then apologize, then treat, but after the wound heals, the torture began again like an endless vicious cycle that eventually absorbed the entire essence of the woman until it ran out and ended up dead.

Is it possible.. Xavier is such a man?
