The Essence Of The Darkness

The Essence Of The Darkness
Episode 59: Emotional Bursts

"Are you crazy?" Akram rebuked in a harsh tone. "I can't leave Elana alone with you!"

"I'm a madman, you said it yourself, didn't you?" Xavier chuckled cheerfully. "If you don't agree to my terms, it's not me who's going to hurt Lana, but you. Meanwhile, I promised myself I wouldn't hurt Lana and you knew that I was the one who always held my word. Lana's recovery was my happiness too" Xavier's voice humbled in a sly tone. "But of course I won't promise not to make Lana fall in my charm, instead I will use all the effort I have, to make her crazy about me."

"Shut your mouth!" Akram growled furiously for a moment. "Elana's not a stupid girl you can easily trick!"

Unfortunately, his anger did not affect Xavier at all, as if Xavier had become too used to the anger of Akram before until he became immune.

"Why are you so angry, dear Akram Night? Are you jealous? Or maybe you are being struck by the fear that this time I will succeed again as before? I did not expect that an Akram Night would be so easily ignited by his emotions just because it concerned an ordinary girl. I think Lana means a lot to you. It would be nice to see him turn around and leave you without turning his head again" Xavier's voice was meaningfully low, deliberately provoking. "You know, I can read the twinkle of hope glinting in Lana's eyes when I offered it to her...."

"What are you offering?" Akram immediately grabbed with a sharp voice.

"Ah...did Lana not tell you? Hmm. yeah. If I were Lana, I wouldn't tell you, either, because you would have ruined everything even before all the plans started." Xavier's voice sounded relaxed and irritating.

"What are you offering to Elana, Xavier?" Akram repeated his question with a demanding tone full of impatience.

Silence stretched out in the middle of their conversation, a stifling silence as it felt like a rope tied around the neck and pulled tight to the point of suffocating. Xavier seems to have deliberately done that to create a dramatic effect when he finally throws his surprise at Akram.

"I offered Lana freedom. Free from you. I offer you a new identity, protection, as well as a new life that is completely free of you" Xavier said with a faint smile on his lips. "And you know what, Akram? I saw the worry in Lana's eyes. It was sad, because the favorite woman of an Akram Night, had apparently harbored the desire to escape deep in the corner of his heart." Xavier ended his speech with a very thick mocking tone.

When Elana opened her eyes, she saw Akram sitting beside her with a grim frozen expression. The man was already wearing neat clothes as if preparing to leave, making Elana frown in confusion.

"Acram? You're going?" elana asked as she sat down and rubbed her eyes.

Akram's gaze used to look at Elana was so piercing that Elana's heart thumped withstanding the fear that slipped without being held back. It was as if Akram was holding back a great deal of wrath on him.

"Get up, Elana and get ready. We'll go somewhere" hissed Akram while clenching his molars.

Elana frowned. "Where to?" her question was confused, somehow feeling alert with Akram's unusual attitude.

Acram thinning lips. "You'll know later. Prepare soon!"

Roughly Akram got up from his seat and stepped ferociously up the stairs leading to his room. The man then entered his room and slammed the door so violently that the door panels shook along with the loud noise.

Elana was still glued for some time on the sofa, staring upwards while confusion still surrounded her.

What happened to Akram Night? Last night the man acted gentle and kind, but today he was angry for no apparent reason....

Do men also have hormonal surge problems such as women who have pre-menstrual syndrome so that they can sometimes get angry for no reason?

Elana let out a long, unobtrusive sigh she got up also from the sofa and folded the thick blanket that last night must have been shrunk by Akram into her body. Afterwards, hugging the blanket in her hand, Elana walked up the stairs and went into her room to bathe and get ready according to Akram's orders.

Inside his room, Akram was sitting on the edge of the bed after taking a sedative Nathan gave him to drink when a panic attack hit him.

His heart was still rumbling while his breath was heaving uncontrollably as he bent his body and propped his head up with his elbow-bound hands above his knees.

Akram's hand moved to wipe his face while he counted his breathing flow in his heart, calming himself down in every sigh and exhale as Nathan had taught him, as a way to calm yourself down when he gets an attack.

Xavier's words on the phone were so haunting to him, creating an unbearable bubbling sense that mixed up his feelings. The shadow of Elana who looked away and walked away from him, running away from him without even trying to turn her head a second time, actually made him almost explode in wrath.

Elana can't leave him! The woman's place is by her side no matter what. And Akram will do everything to keep the woman under his power, even when he has to play dirty though.

"Where are we going?" Elana asked slowly in a cautious tone as the driver steered the car out of the city center and drove down a large lane that led to the outskirts of the city.

Unfortunately, Akram chose to ignore his question. The man was busy with a digital screen in his hand, making Elana feel embarrassed until finally turning her head to look at the scenery outside the car window.

Elana had never been through this path before, but she knew that this path filled with beautiful pine trees on her left and right, was, is a path that leads to a cool mountainous area on the outskirts of the city.

After a few hours of traveling through the suburban lanes, the car finally turned to a special street that was more deserted than before. They did not pass through the usual village path but through a special road with a large gate in the front area, entering a very large area where the rich people in this country have villas and magnificent houses built in the cool hills and filled with shady trees.

Elana did hear there is an area in the buffer city that was built as an elite area for rich people to spend their holidays and rest every weekend to stay away from the hustle and bustle of urban activities. However, it was only this time that he saw with his own eyes how beautiful the path of entering this elite area was. A winding hilly road with pine trees, natural shades and adorned by white mist floating in the air like newly created cotton candy.

The car they were driving finally entered the large gate that held special guard at its door. Elana herself immediately realized that the gatekeeper was wearing the same distinctive black suit as Akram's men.

Is this the gateway to one of Akram's holiday villas?

The gatekeepers bowed respectfully when they found out who was in the car and left the gate open automatically to make way for their employer's car to enter the path to the villa's mansion the one in it.

.

Banguman villa is quite magnificent and well-maintained, two-storey with solid white pillars that adorn the front. Lush trees surround the villa and provide shade, creating a pleasant fresh feel that surrounds the entire building.

Akram ordered the driver to stop the car on the shady side of the driveway, but not move at all to get out of the car.

A long time later, Akram still remained silent in the cabin of the passenger seat, as if waiting for something. So, after being overcome by curiosity in the mysterious residence, Elana decided to ask Akram why they stayed in the car and just waited.

But, when Elana opened her mouth to ask, a movement flashed through the corner of her eyes and made her attention distracted. He turned his head towards the dark window of the car to clearly see the source of the movement and his eyes immediately widened as he recognized the figure reflected by his eyes.

Elios?

That eye-glazed figure was definitely Elios. Although Elana saw from a distance and was limited by the dark car glass, she certainly could not have mistaken Elios's figure.

He saw that Elios was not alone, he was accompanied by a boy who might be about ten years old who seemed to be telling Elios so passionately. The relationship between the two seemed good, for Elios laughed several times at the boy's story, and they also laughed together when Elios seemed to say something funny to reply to the boy's words.

Elana squinted in her attempt to see clearly, while her heart rippled with a strange feeling as she looked at the boy with Elios. The boy looks foreign, but somehow feels familiar.

Do not-don't... Elana had seen the boy somewhere but forgot about him? What was the child's relationship with Elios? Could it be that Elios already had a child?

"Namya Nolan. He's ten years old. I took it from the orphanage. Since then he has lived in this place. I became his legal guardian and I assigned Elios to take responsibility as an extension of my hand for all the child's needs, including his health and education." Akram suddenly spoke behind him, making Elana tiptoe in shock.

He turned his head towards Akram and only realized that he was so interested in the existence of the child that he had unconsciously turned his body to face the window completely and ignored Akram.

"Nolan..," Elana repeats the name Akram told her and somehow wants to memorize it. Back leaning his body into the passenger seat of the car next to Akram, while his gaze seemed very cautious, unwilling to offend Akram who looked so grimly unspeakable. "He... Is he your adopted son?" tanyanya then tried to make sure.

Akram nodded his head slowly, while the gaze of his eyes pierced towards Elana with thinning lips as if holding in anger.

Elana watches over Akram for a moment, then watches over the boy and without being able to be held back she watches over Akram secretly.

Akram is not typical of a melancholy affectionate person who would raise a boy personally and raise him affectionately. Somehow Elana knows that Akram is the type who will choose to make an extraordinary donation to the orphanage as a form of charity, rather than raising one child specifically.

Then, why did Akram adopt Nolan as his adopted son? Do not-don't....

Either Elana's face that is easy to read like an open book, maybe because of Elana's accusatory gaze. To be sure, Akram's expression turned sour when he seemed to be able to read the wild imagination that was rolling in Elana's mind.

"No. Nolan is not my bastard son. I don't have any illegitimate children because I won't do anything haphazardly by sowing seeds with no responsibility to any woman" Akram growled without hiding his desolation, then suddenly threw a bundle of chocolate envelopes at Elana.

Elana looked down at the brown envelope on her lap, then raised her head back towards Akram doubtfully.

From his last experience, when Akram asked him to read a mysterious file, it was something that created a trauma in his soul. That's why, Elana just held the file on her lap and hesitated silently without daring to open it.

Akram glanced at Elana impatiently, then pointed at the file on Elana's lap with a firm stance.

"Open up and read," Akram's orders are no less strict.

Elana stared at the file again, then gulped and moved her hand to open the file knowing she had no other choice.

The contents of the file are just one sheet of paper and Elana pulls it out of the envelope to read it more clearly in the sun.

His forehead immediately wrinkled when reading the large writing that became the title of the file.

It was written there that this was the result of the Deoxyribo Nucleic Acid test or commonly referred to as the DNA test. Oddly enough, the DNA test contained a sample of his name that was compared to a sample on Nolan's behalf.

Elana's heart palpitates when reading the final results of the test. It was stated that from scanning the trace genetic profile markers on the part of the mitochondria which are the genetic traces that are passed down from the maternal line, it clearly shows the accurate results that the two of them, Elana and Nolan, had, they come from the same biological mother.

Elana gaped and looked in disbelief at the file in her hand. He read the DNA test over and over again to convince himself.

Are you from the same biological mother? So... So.. are they brothers? Nolan is his sister?

Encouraged by her impulsive instinct, Elana immediately moved to open the car door, wanting to ascertain the truth of the information with her own eyes and wanting to take a closer look. Elios leads Nolan to enter the villa door, which is then sealed shut. Elana wanted to chase but the car door was locked and could not be opened, making herself frantically turn her head towards Akram for help.

Unfortunately, not the help obtained by Elana, but the cold attitude of cruelty that establishes the fur on its back.

"Who said you could get out of the car and see the kid?" Akram hissed from his teeth, whispering a sinister threat.

Elana gulped, staring at Akram in confusion while her tongue was a hoax, difficulty stringing words.

"A...Akram...you...you found my sister, how could you? Ba... What about my mother? With family? With my origins?" suddenly, the endless questions that flooded Elana's brain immediately shot out of her mouth. Elana's two hands intertwined and squeezed nervously, as if realizing that right now, she was at the mercy of Akram. "Will.... can I.. see my sister?" please in a stammered tone, can only hope that Akram gives his permission without making it difficult.

But, Akram was flirting there. His expression was even more unreadable, so cold and gloomy, filled with sparks of cruelty that inexplicably reminded Elana of her first encounter with Akram as the man was beating up his treacherous men.

Akram's expression.... is almost the same as today, as if the man is filled with anger and feeling betrayed. But, why is Akram behaving like that? What caused the man's anger to be ignited to such an extent?

While keeping a sharp eye on Elana, Akram's lips opened, giving an explanation in a hostile tone.

"After dumping your infant self in an orphanage, your mother lived her life happily, she forgot about you and married a man who had absolutely nothing to do with you. They had Nolan as their first child. Unfortunately, your mother's husband did not live long, nor did your mother, who lost her life when Nolan was a child, leave Nolan alone because there was no immediate family on the part of her mother and father. That's why, Nolan ended up in an orphanage, just like you,"

Elana's eyes looked teary at Akram's explanation. The DNA test can actually be irrefutable evidence, but beyond the DNA test, Akram's explanation seems to be the most convincing closing evidence, making Elana without a fight to believe it.

Elana doesn't think about her mother throwing her away in an orphanage. He wasn't even driven to wonder about it. She is convinced that her mother in the past had her own reasons for throwing it away and Elana has absolutely no hatred or resentment for what her mother has done to her in the past.

Perhaps the destiny of himself and his mother was already determined to never intersect in this world until the airy Elana accepted it.

But ... When it comes to Nolan, of course everything is different. His sister was alive, healthy, with living flesh and blood flowing through her body.

Elana blinked her eyes and exhaled many times in order to regulate the unspeakable happiness that was blowing in her chest. As a woman who lives a kara without relatives in her life, the fact that she has a sister, of course, becomes a miracle that is so fun.

She has a sister. She has a sister!

Elana repeated the sentence in her head, while her heart was feasting with a sense of wonder mixed happily.

Unfortunately, his happiness did not last long, because Akram ruthlessly destroyed it without mercy.

"Are you planning on leaving me, Elana?" akram growled slowly like a hungry lion waiting for an opportunity to pounce on prey. "Because if you do that, I will take your sister's life before you even get to meet her and reveal the truth about your brotherhood.'
